Hey Danteusne- I am 5'10", with a 30 inch inseam, have ridden BMW's and Harleys for 36 years, the Harleys with tall apehangers, and BMW's with the low, close-in bars, almost like drag bars. The drag bars on this 2011 Super Glide Custom fit me very well, with no reaching for the bars. They are confortable in the shoulders, wrists, and neck, even after a 400 mile ride in about 6 hours. I'm taking it out to Colorado this late spring in a straight 1,000 mile shot, which I have done before.
I just ordered some for my '08 Nightster. They sound real nice. I have a Drag Specialties High Flow Air Cleaner and the Stage 1 Kit on mine so I want to improve the performance a bit more. Thanks for the great vid!
Thanks, I appreciate it- I have numerous people at stop lights roll down their windows and compliment. Stay tuned for another vid soon, Santa was very good to me!
I like the look of the slash cut on the Cycle Shacks, and they give a deep rumble that to me is perfect, not too loud, and no backfiring or popping upon decel. I have a friend with Vance & Hines slip-ons that look pretty cool to, but I like the slash cut myself. The V & H are much louder though.
Hey Conner, thanks for the comments, and congrats on purchasing your first Harley! I looked at a couple of the Softails also, but, I've always liked the looks of the Super Glide. They look lean and mean. The $3,000.00 difference in price also let me add quite a few items to the bike, and, they were all purchased on the Dealer's Christmas Sale 25% off all accessories day, so the $3,000.00 actually paid for $4,000.00 in accessories. Good luck with your new bike, you will love it! -Ray
I actaully now have found a great independant shop, M & M Cycles, and use them for everything. Their labor cost is less, and they give me great personal attention.
Thank you for the comments! The Cycle Shacks are temporary only in that I have just installed Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes on the bike. I wanted them from the beginning, but, being a cash kind of guy, I saved up until I had the money to have them installed. They Cycle Shacks needed no re-programming of the EFI, and have caused absolutely no problems of any nature. I plan on filming the new vid with the V & H exhaust and Kuryakin air cleaner this week, so stay tuned!
@Vaish57 Hey Vaish, thanks for the comment.... The drag bars were $70.00. The chrome risers they are set on were $98.00. I've sent my regulare e-mail to you also if you want more details. Good riding- -Ray
@TheCash166 Hey Cash- The bars were ordered directly through my Dealer, Chi-Town Harley of Tinley Park IL. I think they may come directly from Harley, but I'm not sure, they may be from Drag Specialties. They are 27" wide drag bars. I did not have to change the triple clamp, they bolted right on. Good Riding- -Ray
@ruimfsdias Hey Bro, thanks for the comment! I had two Sportsers way back when also, one of them the 75th anniversary model, black and gold with gold mag wheels..... Very Cool..... Yeah, I'm excited to get the V & H Sharp Radius 2 into 2 onboard. As soon as I do, I'll shoot another video and get it up here. Good luck with the upgrade to the Glide!
@CincoPontosTattooing Hey CPT- Thanks for the words. Congrats on the new SG Custom! Yeah, I really like the look and feel of the forward controls. Much more....... I don't know, "Harley" or something. The mid controls made me feel like on was on an Oriental bike. The Straight Shots look great on your Super Glide. They sound fu%ing fantastic too! In three weeks I am installing the Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes. Look for a new vid! Good luck with the Super Glide Custom! -Ray
Hey Bones- Yeah, I was looking at the Fat Bob too, but more of what I wanted for a base to build on was present on the SG Custom, and I've always liked spoked wheels........ Kind of retro a little. I always thought HD should have offered a Super Glide with forward controls as an addition to the line, perhaps on the Low Rider. Now that it's gone from the US line, I guess it's a moot point. Good luck with your new bike! You will love the SG coming from the Sporty. Ride Safe. Ray
I don't know, I am 5'10", and it fits me perfectly. I also did have the seating area of the seat moved forward one inch by a custom seat place. I know HD make some "forward" seats too. Good Luck!
That bike looks amazing man, really diggin the look of the drag style bars on this bike...... i was depating on a fat boy (love soft tails) or the superglide, gotta say im kinda liking the look of the super glide a bit more, this is going to be my first harley, really excited. My dad has a 98 electra glide classic and he let me take it for a ride the other day, loved everything thing about it. anyways hopefully buying the bike in the next couple weeks here. What do you think ? Thanks, Connor
@fujkami78 Thanks for the comment! I am also adding a high flow air cleaner next week. New vid with all the christmas gift accessories installed coming up!
I'm surprised at that observation- I think you can hear on this video that they do have a deeper sound than the factory pipes. They ARE louder than the factory pipes, but I try not to go crazy on the throttle when I'm in residential areas. Anyway, I appreciate the comment- Stay tuned, I am installing Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes and a Kuryakin Black & Chrome Air Cleaner in 2 weeks. I'm leaving the V & H baffles in to start, so I' ll post another vid then as a comparison.
I just bought a 09 street bob last week and was thinking about getting cycle shack slash cuts I would like v&h straight shots but for the money cant beat the cycle shacks. but I was wandering did you use your stock heat shields with the slash cuts a lot of the pics i see of the slash cuts the bikes have no heat shields.
Luckily, (so far), no police have bothered me, and that's even after I put the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-Into-2 exhaust on the bike. I do notice that a lot of police officers ride Harleys, and all of them seem to have really loud exhausts on their bikes too, so maybe they take that into account! Thanks for the compliment, by the way.....
Bobby, just saw this now, sorry for the delay. The Vance & Hines are twice as loud as the Cycle Shacks. The Cycle Shacks are twice as loud as the factory pipes. I have actually added two sets of Big City Thunder QQ Baffles to the V & H pipes, they are still quite loud, but not horrendous. V & H used to make their own quiet baffle for the BR's, but they don't anymore, and just recommended the BCT baffles when I called them.
That's ok. I ended putting a set of screamin eagle II mufflers on my super glide and modified the baffles and now they have a nice rumble to them, they sound like the cycle shacks that I've heard. I'm happy with them. Thanks for responding.
Hey Bro, that is total BS...... The forward controls are $360.00, and the pegs are $145.00. Every September, my HD dealer has a 25% off all accessories sale day, so those items only cost me $375.00. I can't see the install being more than 2 hours of labor, so maybe you should check out another area dealer, or find an independant shop. At $375.00 plus tax of $27.00, plus 2 hours labor at $70.00 an hour, that total should only be $472.00 for the forward controls fully installed Good Luck!
@JMLUVZ2FLY Find a good independent shop. They will give you a much better price than the dealer. I have one I go to for everything. I don't even try to shop around anymore. Find a good shop and support them.

Hey Edgar-
I am 5'10", and the risers are perfect for me. They make me sit straight up on the bike too.
Sounds similar to screaming eagle1 imo. Thanx for uploading😊

The bars are 27" wide drag bars from Drag Specialties, the seat is the stock Harley seat.
Slick bike. I'll be getting slip ons for my FXST and these are one of the ones I'm looking at. Any other recommendations or are these your top pick?
I don't know, I am 5'10", and it fits me perfectly. I also did have the seating area of the seat moved forward one inch by a custom seat place. I know HD make some "forward" seats too. Good Luck!

Hey man that is one great bike! You've made it beautiful! Can i ask how much you paid for the wide drag bars? thnx
Thank You, if you did, that's fine!
I appreciate that very much......
I like to think so too.....
@fujkami78

Cops wud get in line to write me tickets if I had those on my bike...but they sound great !
hello, did you do anything with your stock air cleaner or tuning ? sounds great btw

just wondering how tall you are? trying to see how i would size up on one of these bikes with forward controls. thanks
Good for my ears
HOW TALL ARE YOU?
IM THINKING OF GETTING 6" RISERS BUT I DIDNT WANT TO REACH ALOT.
How loud would you say the cycle shack mufflers are compared to the vance & hines you replaced them with?
Bobby, just saw this now, sorry for the delay.

I have the same bike and would like to add those mufflers..Would you be able to give me Cycle Shack part #?
thx..
What is the part number for the slip ons?

I did not have to do anything with the air cleaner or tuning with just the Cycle Shacks added.
Cool bike! Ever ride the motorcycle in that outfit to say a 7 eleven to buy something??
Yes, I know the Post Office Truck is annoying!
