I read a comment about this performance - in the original version it sounds like Chester is mad, angry and fighting to stay alive. This version sounds like Chester has accepted defeat. 😢

But hindsight is always 20/20.
I was there, Rock Werchter, 10 Days before he took his own life. It felt like a goodbye in hindsight. Still heartbroken when i see the whole concert back here on TH-cam.

But there are conspiracy theory around his death
RIP Chester. He was an incredible vocalist and this is probably the best performance and most emotional performance of crawling he did. ❤

This is such a beautiful performance. I love how Chester switches between soothing and gut-wrenching. How able he is to communicate feeling with his voice. The intimacy with the audience is touching.
Chester touched everyone with his voice he suffered from depression unfortunately it claimed him he is and will always be missed

I grew up on linkin park. In my opinion Chester is one of the greatest male vocalists ever. You want raw emotion from chester- listen to a place for my head- live in Texas.

The studio version is a lot heavier. They made it almost acoustic and slower for this live version. Both versions are phenomenal.

This was the very first song I heard from Linkin Park back when it dropped, my friend Michael had bought the CD and went to my house to pick me up to take a cruise and he tells me check out this new band...the rest is just history
Are you feeling his pain? That isn't beautiful. He's screaming for help. His vocals were terrific, but the lyrics wanted to make me hug him and share his pain. It makes me cry because of the outcome Chester had made. We miss you, Chester!

What he does with his voice there is incredible from my point of view, and the fact that it's a live version only proves how amazing his vocals were. What I cant figure out is WHY LINKIN PARK always sang and wrote such depressing songs. Crawling is so horribly hainting . I know chester suffered from depression BUT WHY grovel in your misery. Lift yourself out of it by seeing how talented and blessed you are. MOST of us would kill to be where youre at. Doing what you love. Shittons of money. Travel, Seeing the world . HOW COULD HE LET IT TAKE HIM FROM US. What could have been so horrible in his life to make him want to LEAVE.
