I went from extreme minimalist, to comfy minimalist, to a more curated life. It's all about comfort and the things that truly bring me joy and happiness. I love books, cats, coffee (and machines) and my vehicle.
I use to be really cheap on cars, drive old beaters, but this year I got a nice older luxury car, paid it off with cash, but I don't mind paying extra money for premium gas now. One thing about minimalism, no real rules about it.
Yes, having a few extra items provides variety and options. At one point, I tried to get rid of too much and then realized down the line it was a good thing I kept it because either something broke and needed replacing or the item was repurposed for whatever I needed at that moment.
Totally agree. I’ve been a minimalist for years and while I do generally believe that “less is more”, sometimes less is just less! Nothing wrong with doing what works for you.
I am loving the glow on you!!! I totally can appreciate a minimalist adapting to lifestyle changes. It’s not like ur not a minimalist anymore it makes sense to have things like more plates and such to accommodate family. Love this for you ❤❤❤❤
Good for you, Kyra! It seems that you are finding a good balance at this point in your life. You are definitely glowing! I LOVE cooking for and catering to company/family when they visit too! You are so nurturing and I really enjoy your videos!❤️
I appreciate this video, sometimes minimalism can feel stressful needing to get rid of thing. Having what you need is a great feeling but we change and need different things for different times just like the seasons. :) thank you kyra for your perspective
It seems natural and fair that even as minimalists our needs and priorities will shift in time. No one should be judged for it. :) Honestly, a lot of the things you mentioned are quite sensible to have at the moment.
last year I used to de clutter at least one thing everyday even though my apartment was basically empty and it never felt like a home and I used to limit myself badly when it came to shopping. I wore the same 5 things everyday and didn’t feel like myself, I felt miserable and felt that I couldn’t express myself as a minimalist. This year I started to be more lenient on myself, I’ve bought a bit more things to make my apartment feel more like my sanctuary and have started dressing more like myself even if that means a bit more clothes in my closet then what would be considered “minimalist”, but I feel way better about myself and feel less stressed. It really is a journey
Oh Kyra! Having followed you for a while now and coming from a limited love background and childhood myself I felt so happy when you said your life is full of love now and it's changing for the best! It truly filled my heart with happiness. I love that you made this video about what you have changed your mind about. Takes humility and honestly and transparency to do that. I'm sending you love and light and positive thoughts for more abundance and love to keep flowing into your life. You go girl!
I have Corelle winter white dishes and I can’t say enough good things about them, they’re thin lightweight easy to wash don’t take up a lot of space but they’re SUPER durable. I have 3 kids and have had these over 10 years and not a single dish has broken. They’re all still looking just like the day I bought them.
@@beachcruising4607 I have always been obsessed with these! I recommend them to everyone I know. They’re luxurious, in my opinion. Lightweight, SMOOTH, so easy to clean and to fit into the dishwasher.
Hi Kyra I'm just wondering about how you feel about having a dishwasher. I remember you saying this was the first time you have ever had one. Much love from Australia
Can you please make more videos on frugal pamper routines? I love doing at home self care nights too :) When you do go to a spa which services would you like to try? Do you think pedicures are worth it? Thank you Kyra
I love this video. It seems like alot of people are going from essential things they need to a who can have the least and be an extreme minimal list contest. Definatley love some of those extra cozy comforts.
I love your videos. I don't know how I missed this one! Hoping you are curating the life you need as your mindset changes. I know the thrift store is filled with beautiful sets of silverware and glassware that are gems, super affordable and is more sustainable for the planet if you and your partner are still looking. Have to go early in the day to catch the thrifty sales ❤
I've gotten to pretty much the same point in my minimalist journey. I use to try to own the least amount possible but that just wasn't sustainable for my lifestyle.
I swear calorie counting gives me the biggest anxiety these days I'm just focussed on moving my body more and lots of protein with very little processed foods and sweets.

100% agree! I always tell myself “buy it nice or buy it twice” and it’s been helping 🥹

It was so nice to see the joy on your face when you talked about love and family 😊

I like the fact that you made this video, just makes sense as when you get older your mindset on certain things changes 🤷♀️
Honestly wanting to share love in a space you own with other people is the best reason to buy more stuff when you need it.

Minimalism is all about having things and routines that work for you and things change with time so we adapt adequately. Great video!
Changing your opinions is growth and growth means you’re truly living. :) great video!
Villeroy & Boch Manoir set that made in Germany is very very good one, and often could be found on sale

Kyra, did you try calories deficit? It’s really helping to lose weight. I did it. And I lost 8 kilos for 1 month. 😊
