Brother, I’m a missionary in a tropical climate with 90%+ humidity every day and about 400 yards from the Atlantic Ocean with its salt spray for the last 17 years. With limited financial resources Taurus has provided me an option to provided home and personal protection that has proven to be perfect in reliability and not a single misfire or misfeed after thousands of rounds through a PT111 Millennium and a G3 that resides mostly in a MCK Gen 2 that is 100% dedicated to home protection duty for our household. The MCK made the training of a 16 year old boy and his mother and my wife so easy with a red dot and stability of three-points of contact. Had Taurus not been available with heir low price point and reliability I certainly would not have had the peace of mind when leaving my loved ones here at home for often weeks at a time. Thank you or your videos which confirm my protection decisions on a tight budget. While at home on last September I bought a GX4 Carry with red dot site for my personal carry and love it.
This makes me feel even more confident in my choice of the Taurus GX4 Carry as my EDC! Grateful I have followed this, grateful for my own personal choices, but most of all grateful I began following you as a fellow Christian, and lover of Jesus! Blessings to you and your family!
I'm rocking a G3c in 40 as my daily driver. The GX4 makes me nervous. Taurus was trying to build a gun one inch wide like the Sig P365, Springfield Hellcat and so on. I'm honestly scared of Taurus metallurgy when the amount of metal is that close to the edge of what's possible. The GX2 is built almost as wide as the G3 family, so this gun is closer in size to the Glock 26 ("inch and a quarter wide") versus the G43 (another "inch wide"). And I think that's a good thing. The update shared by the GX2 and GX4 is the one piece slide rail metal in the frame. In the G3 series the front and rear rails are different pieces of metal connected only by plastic frame. Same as a Glock.
@MrBuckeye63 Agreed. I don't see enough good here to make me want to swap my G3c in 9mm *or* 40S&W (I have both, and both run very, very well). I honestly think 10+1 in 40 (G3c in 40) is more useful than 12+1 in 9mm (capacity of the G3c in 9). One reason I bought the 40 is because when I go back to trucking I'll have to stay inside the 10rd mag limits of some states and FOR SURE 40 beats 9 at that point. IF the GX2 ships with a cut for an RMSc optic, now I'm tempted to swap. And I think that'll happen within a year. The GX2 is fundamentally a better gun than the G3c 9mm in two key areas: better underbarrel rail and that single monolithic slide rail system in the frame. I think we'll quickly see a larger size GX2 scaled up to the size of the G3 (or Glock 17/19) at which point Taurus can dump the entire G2 and G3 lineup and probably abandon 40S&W. We'll know soon if the US Supreme Court is going to hear the Ocean State Tactical case this year regarding whether or not they're going to allow states to limit mag capacity. If that case goes like we expect and 10rd mag limit laws are all overturned, that will make the 9mm even more popular. I *am* a bit of a hater on the GX4. I don't think Taurus has the engineering or metallurgy to make a 1" wide 9mm gun. Sorry. The GX2 is 1.2" wide, just a scootch thinner than the G3c, and THAT is going to work in 9mm but may be questionable in 40S&W. I think Taurus is going to dump the 40. If we win Ocean State Tactical that will prove to be a good business decision. If the court stalls this until next year Taurus can still make G3c 40s for another year.
I heard an o'l boy say the gx2 machining wouldn't go 1000 rounds it was so bad, laughs on him.Screw the price taurus makes damn good guns. AWSOME VIDEO, THIS GUN WILL GO THOUSANDS OF ROUNDS SO THERE! Taurus is going to leave the rest in the dust god bless you and your family.

In 2014, Taurus changed ownership. The company CBC, which makes, among other things, ammunition, such as the Magtech brand, took control of Taurus and frankly the new owner knows more about guns than the previous ones. 👍

You know this one Taurus pistol has been responsible for me probably getting 1500 new subscribers and really propelling my channel views over the last two weeks. The sad reality of doing TH-cam videos is that if I were to do the exact same testing and review of say a CZ which is my favorite brand for a HK my second favorite brand or a FN it would not propel me at all in fact it would make people hate for a different reason. They would say things like all this dude went out and overpaid for a Gucci gun just another Gucci gun snob. He’s probably an Sig or Glocktard yada yada. And another said reality is if I were to go out and buy a Taurus tomorrow and it turned out to be the biggest piece of junk I had ever bought and had one failure after another, and I showed it and proved it on camera just like I did this one the very same people or at least 85% of them who was singing my praises would come at me Like a pack of rabid dogs. These GX2s look really nice. I own a couple G3c's, and I've been very happy with them -- not just for a budget gun, but they compete favorably with my other big-name pistols. Glad to see they are continuing with their quality improvements.
I own a Taurus and I really like it. Even though it's a 2005 model, a PT 24/7 Pro in 40 S&W and it's been reliable 99% of the time. I think I put maybe 700 rounds through it so far and I have had two nose Dives in the magazine but I blame myself for that because I was trying out oiling the inside of my magazine housing, and it turned out to not be a good idea, I got both nose Dives in the same magazine, but after cleaning all of that out I have not had an issues since. And it has a very similar grip angle to this new gx2 and it is very comfortable to hold. I may consider a gx2 in the future, so far it seems like most reviewers are having great luck with it 🙂
The 3 main LGS’s I frequent can’t keep G2’s or G3’s in stock very long. They got an initial order of 5 of the GX2’s, had them sold within an hour. There is a market for these firearms. If someone can get past their perceived bias against Taurus, they could see what these firearms are designed for. Honestly, there aren’t too many reasons a mass produced polymer striker fired pistol should be more than $300-$400.
Mr. G Squared Tactical, great extensive and thorough review. I need you to call Taurus's marketing department and tell them that one of your very loyal ophthalmic challenged Subscribers of your channel needs the GX2 with a T.O.R.O. slide option. Not later, but on this initial sales release to the U.S. Market. Non-optic cut slides are so 2020. This is 2025 and red dot sights are a must for my age group and also my incurable addiction for red and/or green dots superimposed upon the target down range. I will wait to buy the GX2 until a T.O.R.O version shows up. I have already bought two of the Fox Army Red Dot Sights waiting patiently in their boxes for a Taurus GX2 T.O.R.O edition. Thanks again.
I have owned 51 taurus guns/ 40 years of purchasing. Senior/ I returned half for repairs/ THE best in my view is the Taurus g3x it's the best combination...Thanks
Listen man up till about five years ago I never owned a Taurus that could get through a single magazine without a problem. I mean the brand in general was just laughable to me. One of them messed up so bad at the range one time they asked me to put it away and leave because I was being unsafe. It was at that moment I vowed I would never buy another Taurus pistol. When I started the channel, everyone told me that if I refused to review Taurus that my channel would not get very much traction so reluctantly, I started reviewing them. That was about four years ago, maybe 4 1/2. When I tell you that I have owned every single model of Taurus that has been offered, that is the truth except for their rifle. All of the revolvers, the 454 the 460 the 44 the 357 every single thing they’ve had to offer. Not one single one of them has had a single malfunction of any kind which is astonishing to me. I’m not sure what changed four or five years ago, but something drastically changed in their quality control.
I am surprised you didn’t pick PT-92 for their best semi-auto. Their Beretta clones have always been solid. A former marine friend of mine took his to Iraq and Afghanistan on some contractor assignments. Trusted it that much.
@@GSquaredTactical Will do I can't remember if I told you I am doing a high round count test on my 365 380, took the complete slide on a XL frame and running 9mm xl mags. I should have over 5000 through it when I finish this last 300 rounds.
Just do what I do with my G2c after cleaning it when it and the mags have some scratch and scuff marks. Degrease surfaces with rubbing alcohol and then with the other side of the Q-tip apply some liquid Birchwood Casey Super Gun Blue to touch it up. Then a light coat of oil, wipe down, and it looks like brand new.
OK, looks like it cleaned up well, I was expecting it to look like it was manufactured by Neanderthals.. Definitely not the case. I'd have no problem with with one of these in both of my vehicles.. and garage, and dinning room. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Get a can of WD 40 specialist silicone spray. Not the one with PTFE in it. There’s two different ones. I spray all of my firearms down with it inside and out. Including the trigger pack. Let it sit overnight and then wipe off any that’s left. It will dry to a slick protective coating. Then when you lube it you have two dissimilar lubricants working in conjunction to make it super slick and protected. Every gun I have has a half pound lighter trigger after doing this. It works!!!!! It is an awesome treatment for magazines too. Just wipe the extra off.
Awesome review as always! 😎👍 I was going to say you could possibly spray some carb cleaner on it but judging from the looks of it looks squeaky clean 🫧.
I was the same - I liked Taurus revolvers but would not touch any polymer Taurus pistol (having witnessed the Taurus Millennium PT-111 which was crap) but I really like my G3C's - have one in 9mm and one in 40 S&W - both are great and come with three mags which I really like -not to mention the really low , real-world price.
Not sure why Taurus gets so much hate. The last few years people have started to come around and give them praise. It's like they are waiting on some of the "bigger" channels to do it first
The Glock and Smith have been tested up to 50-60k rounds in multiple yt videos. The taurus I can only find 10k round reviews. I'd rather spend another 3-4 hundred dollars for a pistol with better reliability and reputation. And another sidenote: I'm tired of seeing the same comments stating (I'd rather buy a 2-300 dollar taurus over a 500-600 glock because I can have more money on ammo) yall acting like ammo won't be around after spending a little more on a pistol .
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems so many people buy a taurus and beat it to death, and they still run great, but no one is buying an expensive pistol and doing the same to it. Then they bash taurus, calling them cheap garbage. They buy expensive guns, display them like a trophy, and say look at this beauty, best gun made. I have a Springfield that's really finicky with its ammo, my neighbor has a 45 cal Kimber that is a jamomatic. I have many brands, mostly are Taurus, from a PT92Fs, i bought during the Clinton era with a mandatory 10 round mag, up to the last purchase of a GX4, with the cerakote tan slide. All function great. As long as it's comfortable in my hand, fun to shoot, accurate, and reliable as the day is long, I'm all in. I don't have to have a BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, just want a reliable vehicle that gets me from point A, to point B everytime I turn the key.
my Taurus pistols/ revolvers are equal to my higher dollar ones. they work flawlessly and accurately regardless of price or brands. we can't expect any more than that. heck I have two hi point pistols they do the samething. the 45 I reload 255gr hard cast wide mouth deep hp at 950fps and 250gr xtp if I remember correctly 970fps ad no pressure signs and like a old timax watch, latest a licken and keeps on ticking. papa wishing you well 😊
Ive always liked Taurus. I have a G2 .40 And it has always preformed well for me. Its only failed to feed once on me, and pretty syre that was my fault. When they were hating on Taurus i kept ti what i knew was true to me and that was my own Taurus. I never gave into all that lawsuit crap which i still dint agree with. Anyway, thats my story. God Bless ✝️✝️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
@1jimmarch I did not a lot of times TH-cam will remove comments or content that describes how to accessorize or alter a firearm. It’s likely they removed it. I’m not sure but I never saw it.
@@GSquaredTactical Every time I post it gets killed. Do you have another channel of communication? I'm 1.jim.march using Google's version of the @ sign thing.
LOL< Mr. G, seriously sir, if you consider that a dirty firearm, I'd love for you to see what mine look like before I clean them. I have not watched this video prior to my comment. I have to say, those magazines on my screen look like super cheap garbage. They appear to be completely shot. I'll watch now and say thanks in advance for the review and test of this. God Bless
@@GSquaredTactical Mr. G. unlike the Mec-Gar's that Taurus usually uses, they look almost bent or caved in on the back of the mag. The weld looks like it was done by a grade school kid using a Temu welder. The material they're made from is obviously much thinner or softer then the stuff Mec-Gar uses. I have Mec-Gar mags that are 8 or 9 years old that have been used for 3 gun and hundreds of range sessions. Most of our bays at our club have grass on the ground, but a few designated for handicapped members have stone. I've dropped some of my Mec-Gars hard on those stone floored bays so many times I can't come up with a number. Those have some paint chips, but not a single dent in one of them. The only issue I'veever had, the 15 rounders for the G3 will not feed or function with steel cased. The spring binds up. With the Canik mags steel cased runs perfectly. Anyway, you asked and I responded. Thanks again for the extensive testing and review. God Bless
Just something to ponder about being "left behind". In Matthew 24, consider the passage beginning where Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be with the coming of the son of man." In the days of Noah, it was the unbelievers who were swept away by the judgment waters. "And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away." Matthew 24:39. Noah and his 7 family members were saved in the midst of the flood. At the coming of the son of man, it will be unbelievers who are taken away in judgment, and believers will be "left behind". Tim Lahaye was a fiction writer, who had it exactly backward. Thanks.
Is this gun good for beginners For a beginner like me Im a bigger guy with fat fingers I can't decide between this or the G3 or TS9 or G3C Any ideas would be great
I mean it’s a smaller gun but good grip real estate. So I would say yes but if you think it’s a little too small, maybe go with something more the size of a G 19.

If someone can get past their perceived bias against Taurus, they could see what these firearms are designed for. Honestly, there aren’t too many reasons a mass produced polymer striker fired pistol should be more than $300-$400.
I believe it
I bought a 92fs clone from Taurus years ago ran amazing been a fan Taurus ever since
Nice
Haha I will reach out
Good job Gene !
Thank you sir
Might have to add one of these to Taurus collection. I have great service with all of mine.
👍🏻
They've been good since the new people came in
@leofedorov1030 forgot about that one. It’s been a good one to
Good video thanks good tests and update!
Thank you
Thanks for testing this I will pick one up once they get back in stock.
If you do let me know how you like it
@@GSquaredTactical Will do I can't remember if I told you I am doing a high round count test on my 365 380, took the complete slide on a XL frame and running 9mm xl mags. I should have over 5000 through it when I finish this last 300 rounds.
@chuckr5929 wow that’s insane
@@GSquaredTactical This isn't all at once though, over the course of 2 years.
Man! That thing is a timax watch. 💪🍻
lol 😂
Just do what I do with my G2c after cleaning it when it and the mags have some scratch and scuff marks. Degrease surfaces with rubbing alcohol and then with the other side of the Q-tip apply some liquid Birchwood Casey Super Gun Blue to touch it up. Then a light coat of oil, wipe down, and it looks like brand new.
Yeah I use the stuff a lot. After what we’ve been through it’s a character thing now 😂🤣😂
The g3x has been my best friend since the first month it was released. Love it. It gained holster rub, but that's it, still runs awesome
Nice!! Thanks for watching
OK, looks like it cleaned up well, I was expecting it to look like it was manufactured by Neanderthals.. Definitely not the case. I'd have no problem with with one of these in both of my vehicles.. and garage, and dinning room. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Yessir!! Looks like it’s about time to put it on your short list
Thanks for the tip
Thanks for this series! Is it double action /restrike trigger?
And yes.. Daw the John Wick! Lol
It is not a double strike trigger sadly
Awesome review as always! 😎👍 I was going to say you could possibly spray some carb cleaner on it but judging from the looks of it looks squeaky clean 🫧.
Yes sir it is
👍🏻
I was the same - I liked Taurus revolvers but would not touch any polymer Taurus pistol (having witnessed the Taurus Millennium PT-111 which was crap) but I really like my G3C's - have one in 9mm and one in 40 S&W - both are great and come with three mags which I really like -not to mention the really low , real-world price.
Yeah prior to 5 years ago every Taurus I had was crap
Not sure why Taurus gets so much hate. The last few years people have started to come around and give them praise. It's like they are waiting on some of the "bigger" channels to do it first
I’ve gave the praise since the start but my channel is only 4 years old. Taurus has been solid since then. Before then not so much
@ I agree with you. And you just showed and proved what others seem scared to do.
Yessir
The Glock and Smith have been tested up to 50-60k rounds in multiple yt videos. The taurus I can only find 10k round reviews. I'd rather spend another 3-4 hundred dollars for a pistol with better reliability and reputation.
And another sidenote: I'm tired of seeing the same comments stating (I'd rather buy a 2-300 dollar taurus over a 500-600 glock because I can have more money on ammo) yall acting like ammo won't be around after spending a little more on a pistol .
👍🏻
I know for a fact, you now have the best smelling Taurus around. Dawn PW😂
Breaks up that gunk man it isn’t the first time I’ve done it. Works like a charm
I like using a sonic cleaner and simple green / air craft and precision cleaner !
Nice
That’s fair
my Taurus pistols/ revolvers are equal to my higher dollar ones. they work flawlessly and accurately regardless of price or brands. we can't expect any more than that. heck I have two hi point pistols they do the samething. the 45 I reload 255gr hard cast wide mouth deep hp at 950fps and 250gr xtp if I remember correctly 970fps ad no pressure signs and like a old timax watch, latest a licken and keeps on ticking. papa wishing you well 😊
Haha
Looked forward to this one
Thanks for watching
Ive always liked Taurus. I have a G2 .40 And it has always preformed well for me. Its only failed to feed once on me, and pretty syre that was my fault. When they were hating on Taurus i kept ti what i knew was true to me and that was my own Taurus. I never gave into all that lawsuit crap which i still dint agree with. Anyway, thats my story. God Bless ✝️✝️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thanks for watching
I have two of Taurus revolvers.
The company makes good guns
They have for the last five years for sure. Prior to that they was hit or miss
Waiting for a stainless version. I’d edc this all day
👍🏻
Did you see my comment on the previous video on how to add a gas pedal to this thing on the dirt cheap?
😊
I'm interested?
@1jimmarch I did not a lot of times TH-cam will remove comments or content that describes how to accessorize or alter a firearm. It’s likely they removed it. I’m not sure but I never saw it.
@@anyoneanygun210 I just reposted.
@@GSquaredTactical Every time I post it gets killed. Do you have another channel of communication? I'm 1.jim.march using Google's version of the @ sign thing.
Nice👍 looks good
Ty sir
I need one now ✅🙌🏼
👍🏻
Yea buddy looks like imma add a gx2 to the collection
👍🏻
Oh man..I would've Loved to see a 30min video of you just cleaning a dirty pistol and magazines like you did this one..Maybe Next time.
Dang 30 minutes? Heck the view duration on the 12 minute video is 4:37. People tend to hate longer videos I catch grief for it everytime I do it
Comment for algorithm 💪🏻
Ty
Time to spend 3 times the original cost to cerakote it in some pastel color and watch this thing run for 15 years.
😂🤣👍🏻
Just wanted to let you guys know that I bought the 15 rd mags for my GX2 and it only adds a 1/4 inch to the grip.
Where did you get them
@@GSquaredTactical I purchased them at GunZoneDeals. I paid $26 each. The mags are specifically made for the GX2 by Mec-Gar and not made in Brazil.
those mags are tig welded using a robot. its far too perfect for a human.
Agreed
God Bless
The mags are still feeding. What’s shot about them?
God Bless
@typhoonjenkins8330 I guess only time will tell
I just stick with canik cuz she treats me right
Nothing wrong with that
It has a Sig body ...
It does?
@GSquaredTactical last week I bought the G3 bundle and came home saw these reviews on this gun and bought it..
Sweet
Looks like a good deal to me. 👍💩
Yeah unfortunately unless someone sends me 10k rounds I can’t find out but if someone did I would lol
Thanks.
👍🏻
Is this gun good for beginners
For a beginner like me
Im a bigger guy with fat fingers
I can't decide between this or the G3 or TS9 or G3C
Any ideas would be great
I mean it’s a smaller gun but good grip real estate. So I would say yes but if you think it’s a little too small, maybe go with something more the size of a G 19.
Respect all the Guns buy the ones you can afford.
Yes sir
@spnfirearms
Say what?
