    For years I've searched TH-cam for a channel that makes 1/6 scale inspired creations like my own and finally I found someone worthy of a subscription, thank you so much for sharing your creativity with me I love your artwork. please continue doing what you do it's awesome!! 👍💕🙏

      Welcome! Thank you so much for subscribing. Yeah, the 1/6 custom community is really small, and those who are willing to share their knowledge is even fewer. Also, not many people who are into collecting 1/6 scale figures are interested in the creative process, they would rather buy than get their hands dirty, so the videos aren't doing well either. That's why I had to pivot and start customizing Toy Story toys to help the channel grow.

    For the figure thing you mentioned, you could try to maybe make the clothes? Or even do like a action figure where it’s sculpted on? Great video btw, you’re funny and it makes it more enjoyable

    • @zedabyu
      @zedabyu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it defeats the purpose at 1/6 scale to sculpt clothes since they really excel at being photo real with clothed outfits. So yeah, if I were to go the sculpted route, I'll just do a half-body bust 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it!

    your customs are absolutely amazing and really inspired me to get back into making figures! what kind of glue do you use to hold the hair on? i’m about to make a harley from the james gunn suicide squad and don’t know which glue would work best to get the hair on.

    As usual great stuff. I don't mind if you go for more of a bust approach personally. I'm definitely here more for your sculpts and finishing work on the heads.

    • @zedabyu
      @zedabyu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, seems like the right direction to head towards. Would be challenging but definitely more fun than wearing clothes 😂

    • @Nathan-ib2rs
      @Nathan-ib2rs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zedabyu for certain things if it needs a body/outfit to really sell the character it makes sense to do that but most would work just as a bust. Are you going to stay with 1/6 scale?

    • @zedabyu
      @zedabyu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nathan-ib2rs Do you recommend another scale? I feel that 1/6 sits in a nice spot being not too big that it'll waste materials nor too small for details to show, so I'd probably stick to it even with the busts. But I'm open to suggestions.

    • @Nathan-ib2rs
      @Nathan-ib2rs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zedabyu was more curious than anything, I think 1/6 is great, and easier to source bodies etc... but if you are doing it completely from scratch, youre no longer constrained working to a scale of props or parts that are available. That's the only reason I asked. If 1/6 is where you are comfortable I'd definitely stuck to it.

    • @zedabyu
      @zedabyu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nathan-ib2rs That's true. I've never tried other scales but if I were to, I will go bigger not smaller. Right now 1/6 seems to be good enough so I'll probably stick to that. The important thing is still to improve my likeness sculpting skills.

    Your better at teaching than you think. (I did the art school thing)
    Your objective reflections on your work are a great motivator.
    Perky lol.
    The 6kg plaster mold has been made and is spending a week or more drying sitting on a 500w heat mat , hopefully shrinking a little bit so I can actually open the dam thing, I had a crisis during pouring the second half, ran out of plaster, had to drive quickly to the hobby shop buy plaster get back mix and complete the pour hoping that the under layer was still wet enough to bond. It was over watered so is taking ages to dry out and will be very pourous . I hope I don't have to remake it.
    I know you like to focus on heads, but I like seeing full body creations (obvs)
    I've also noticed 1/6 scale clothes cost same or more than full size WTF.
    I think you should obtain a sewing machine, I rekon there is software you'd like to turn 3d renderings into patterns.
    I wing it with cling film sellotape tracing paper and a load of make it up as I go along.

    • @zedabyu
      @zedabyu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yeah, 1/6 clothes are ridiculously expensive. Maybe cos it's so detailed at such a tiny scale. The next step to my whole creative process was to learn how to sew but dam, I just can't find it in me to give a fk about clothes lol. Until technology really makes sewing more accessible, I'd probably stay away from it. Man, good luck with your project. Sounds real messy and that's why I stopped making molds too.
