What a race Nick and You really smashed it man. Congrates from me with the super result and I think You are on the way to run a sub 3 hour marathon this year. Inga Dk.
Ah I did this one! I tend to do it every year. Perfect timing for spring marathons. I love the lapped course even if it is a bit desolate out there 😂 Managed a PB this year so super happy. Well done on a great run 💪
Yeah it’s a really good one for training I think. No frills, but just enough of what you need 😬 I really enjoyed the laps… I don’t know what’s happened to me!? Well done on the PB Christina - are you training for a marathon then?
@@christinaclementsonFingers crossed for good weather, I hear it can be very varied! Also, just in case you’re not aware, check out @flobergruns who makes great TH-cam videos and is currently training for Boston. He did a great one recently which had a lot of info about the course 👍🏼
I used to do the Essex 20 in training for the London marathon, twenty years ago, then it was around the country lanes of Rochford, One year I gave my car keys to my partner, because she wasn't racing that day, after she had disappeared on a run I realised my running shoes were in the car still ! 😲 I had to run in my leather trainers, it started raining and they got rather heavy ! 😅 Good training though to do a 20 mile before London, Good luck with that 👍
Nice one Nick. Just came across your channel and subbed. We did an old iteration of the Essex 20 about 12 years ago. I did 1:59.59 running without a watch. Best pacing ever :-😂 Anyway we're documenting our training towards Manchester Marathon. Which one are you doing?
Thanks for the sub! Ha love it, those ones you don’t forget 😄 Ah good luck to both of you for Manchester - I’ll check out your channel too 😊 Well when I ran Essex I’d booked a hilly trail marathon in May and Abingdon for October for my sub-3 attempt… but Essex went so well I had to reconsider 😬 So the video after this one was about that, and I’ve booked Boston Marathon (UK) in just over three weeks’ time 👍🏼
Cheers, appreciate it! Well before this I was training for a hilly trail marathon in Exmoor, Devon, in May - with the main goal of Abingdon Marathon in October. But in my latest video (out today), I’ve changed my plans 😬

Thanks Inga, very kind! I cannot believe how well it went and how much I enjoyed it. Really believing it’s possible now 🙌🏼
I ran the 10k that morning in a time of 58m 20s. I'm 68 years old. It was cold wet and windy. You ran really well 👍
Thanks Paul, well done on your 10k! Yeah it wasn’t the best conditions… I don’t mind the cold, but not a big fan of wind and rain 😅
Cracking 20 miler mate, well done, looking in great shape for sub 3 🔥🔥
Cheers, absolutely loved it! And yeah, surprised myself for sure 😊

Ha, that is a brilliant story! Leather shoes vs super shoes, hmmm 🤔😂
I have a further tale along these lines for this week’s video…

@@nrg_runs good luck with that. I managed 8 miles at Boston the other year before a DNF. PB at Abingdon back in the day with a 2:42.10. Excellent race
@@tworunningbrooms Thanks 😊 Sorry to hear about the DNF - but 2:42… WOW! Looking forward to it already 😄
Great running buddy! Which marathon you going for?
