- Swim jig TRAILERS (My PICKS for EVERY Situation) - Catching bass on a swim jig is one of my favorite ways to catch them. It is a great way to combine power and finesse depending on conditions and time of year. Picking the right swim jig trailer makes a big difference! From getting the jig to swim higher in vegetation to moving the swimjig quickly in clear water - all the difference is in the trailer.

In my experience, swimbait trailer’s give ⬆️ off more thump, side to side movement and action in the skirt. Just my opinion 🤷🏼♂️🎣
JC, good stuff. I love throwing a swim jig. I can't seem to put my swim jig rod down when I pick it up
Thanks Jason question do you ever turn your trailers on there side so they look like a fish tail. Instead them flapping up and down they go side to side.
👍👍👍👍👍
Same question as I see a few commented here …I always use a boot tail swimbait w good success ?.
Yeah I use them sometimes
No Swimbait trailers??
I’m typically switching baits if I need more thump
So u don't use a swimbait trailer at all? Like paddle tail?
Not typically. Usually switch baits if I need more vibration
@@Christiefishing well the paddle tail wouldn't be for more vibration but more for profile. I use flappers if I'm pumping the jig an paddle tail if just reeling. But on some of the more flapping I'll turn them versicle like mimicking a bream tail
@@Christiefishing my question to u would be outside of shadspawn when would u pickup a swim jig over bladed jig? We don't have alot of grass in middle GA where I'm at but I just like a swim jig and I'm not confident when to pick it up like u are so I need your help. Thanks
You never put any kind of a paddle tail on them?
Yeah I do sometimes.
obviously your the pro but am genuinely curious why you dont use paddletail trailers for swimjigs?
Try turning your trailer on its side so your claw or tail flaps side to side instead of up and down
@@stephenknight7601 been doin that for years with the rage menace
@@castandchill haven’t used that one I use the D bomb. I trim down the side on the hook shank so you still have plenty of room for a good hook set but it gives a great bream look to the jig. I will be trying the mence
@@stephenknight7601 nice man. i love the d bomb. i havent tried it like that I'll have to. the menace is similar shape to the d bomb. a little thicker and has the small flanges so is has more of that rythmic kick
I'm confused. If a swim jig is supposed to imitate a fish, why wouldn't you use a swimbait for a trailer?
