  • In Dubai, falcons are a symbol of strength and patriotism. For Hamdan Ahmed Bin Mujrin, falcons also represent a family tradition. He comes from a long line of champion falconers who have passed down the skill of caring for and training these mighty birds. Now, he’s using new high-tech tools to advance the sport and pass on his passion to his son.

      Hello

    • @Mich4elCorleone
      @Mich4elCorleone ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danaleelavelle3708 lucky you i saw that reply by mistake. Im a GCC citizen and went on a scholarship to the US for almost 8 years. When I came back, once the airport door opened. The heat I felt was like putting my hand in a running oven. I knew it right then how westerners feel when they come to the GCC, and obviously, I lost my resistance to heat!
      So after a while, I started to understand why they wear the thobe, which is the long white robe, and also the white headscart. It is just impractical to wear jeans and western clothes under that sun. Also retaining facial hair, many Arabs retain facial hair when compared to westerners, I discovered later that dust, sand storms, direct sun light, destroy the skin like no other. Keeping facial hair will offer some kind of protection while if you ask many of them, they'll just say, we keep facial hair as a tradition.
      For your question, the white color is the primary color for sun reasons. However, the Saudi's in specific wear a one that looks like a table cloth. These were adopted from the british explorers and Americans who came to Saudi and later on were adjusted a bit in design so they don't look exactly like the table cloth. Stylish reasons. As for the setup of it, either by doing a tie on the head or wrapping it like a hijab around the face, it indicates readiness and the will to move and flex around when compared to the relaxed shemagh iqal which requires one to stay calm, put and not move alot. Depends on the social event one is in. Hopefully i did my best to explain to you.

    What a great video thanks for the insight into a part of your heritage. It's sad that too many American boys and girls are raised without a father to instill values and give guidance to them. I think if most had a sense of direction they would not resort to violence and drugs. If they were guided into something positive be it playing a sport or a musical instrument or how to interact with animals(horses, livestock, dogs, etc) these kids would grow up to be exceptional people. Thank you for this video.

    Fyi I want to make this clear, not all of us own falcons. Their expensive and needs alot of attentions. Some arabs own arabian horses and thats passed down, some pass down arabian eagles, hunting etc and some like me are just badween kids who own sheep and camels and palm trees. Basically we are farmers and providers. Not all of us have eagles and horses, alot of us get those things passed down again because their expensive (their usually passed down). Badweens learn to hunt what is in the desert but that is a thing of the past now.
    So its either one if the two, you are rich and can own those animals and learn how to hunt and ride them or your the children who got passed down those things.

    It’s a status symbol for the Arab elite to have a trained falcon. This guys 80 falcons are worth in the millions with some single falcons going into the hundreds of thousands so that a prince or royal member can brag that he has the best falcon. Just like the car license plates out there that contain minimal or unique numbers, they go for big bucks to mainly show off that the person is a big shot
