I love the reaction at 4:19 to the vicar's "I thought you looked rather sweet in it." Having said that, I think young Pike is very cute.

I've noticed the ladies names in dads army change from differing episodes. in this one the verger calls his wife tracey yet in episode mums army he addresses her as anthea, and in everybodys trucking mr blewitt calls her beryl. this also happens with mrs fox. in mums army she tell mainwaring her name is marcia, but when she marries jones in never too old she is called mildred. this also happens with wendy richards character in some episodes she is shirley and others edith.

I think you may have got your wires crossed slightly. He died just a year after Arthur Lowe in 1983 - 6 years later than this last series.- from cirrhosis of the liver - He was a heavy drinker. However you are correct in his self obituary. In reality he wasn't really acting in this series as he played a character very similar to himself in real life!
