"Kain no!! double crossed again .. PFFFFTT Im sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face. We saw this coming a mile away. No, no. Take the crystal. Ok bud, we'll see you soon. **sigh** What a stupid bitch." ~ Cecil Harvey: 1991, 1997, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014
I found your channel a few days ago, and am AMAZED. I rarely ever - EVER - listen to metal, but all of your arrangements are fantastic! I can't tell you how many mediocre metal/electric guitar remixes of game music I've listened to, but you indescribably & consistently imbue your music with kickass energy, while still remaining true to the original "feel" of the tracks. Your notes and timing are crisp and clean. You clearly have a wonderful talent in both arranging and playing music like this. I also rarely ever comment, but I'm honestly so impressed that I needed to compliment your work. You have my subscription, that's for sure!
Fully agree, Weston. There's a lot of stuff out there, and guys are doing their best, but this is really something. Another guy in this league (although not at all metal) is PoopPoopFart. Guys who take their game covers seriously get so much respect. It's rarely done with care to the original tone/mood/context.
Just so you know man. I have a DND campaign which has been going on for 3-4 years, and I have been keeping this song for one of the biggest bosses/baddies of the campaign for when the party encounters him. Such great music, thanks for it. I hope my dming for my players will be half as good for that scene as the soundtrack will be :P
To commemorate Culex having his wish granted to obtain his "Nintendo Ultra 64"- errr.....I mean 3D SNES graphics in the Mario RPG Remake, here is a mark of approval and a fave for a damn fine cover!
1:04 Is where this transitions from a merely great remix to one of the best damn remixes I've ever heard. To introduce that much variance while still remaining true to the original melody is a feat that almost no one I've ever heard has ever pulled off. Alongside CarbohydroMusic and RichaadEB, you truly deserve, imo, to be called one of the best game music remixers in the history of the internet. Not that I wasn't convinced of such even before now. You and them are TOTALLY my all time Top 3. Not sure what the order is though... 3:53 Wtf, is that...BASEBALL?! No...no. That's too ridicuawesome to be real. Could it really be...NINJA BASEBALL BATMAN?!
most epic version of ffiv boss battle i have ever heard!!!! keep rocking man and btw if you did zeromus, thered be no doubt you rock the hell out of it.
Oh man what a talent! Gotta put this on loop right away. My guy you made the music from my favorite Final Fantasy just jump out of the 16 bit realm and into my spirit. 15/10.
"I am matter...I am antimatter...I can see your past...I can see your future...I consume time...And I will consume you!" ...... Oh wait wrong game whoops ;)
It's only a matter of time till they try to connect Mario and Final Fantasy beyond putting them together in sports games or putting Cloud in Smash Bros. XD
@Landrew Sodoski: Culex is not really a part of FF. He was just made in the spirit of FF at the time. It's only a contextual reference, not a real one. I don't count it.
i liked before even 1 sec in since i just knew this would be even better than his original. That one was already badass to begin with. Jonny, your skill and talent keeps growing and growing. Looking forward to adding more to my playlist ;)
Wow. Absolutely phenomenal. I don't know this song all that well; I honestly think of the SiIvaGunner version before actually thinking of the regular song, but I hope to change that by watching this video over and over again. Amazing job. One of my new favorites for sure.
The Uploads playlist is THE BEST thing for getting work done. That is, until this tune comes on: I have to stop what I'm doing and totes jam out to this tune. And it's not the only one! Thanks for the work that you do, @Jonny.
So good. And I've already gone off (no pun intended) fangirling about this, but cannot WAIT for whatever OFF song you tackled. (Assuming Peper Steak, but you never know!)
Very nice work on this. The guitar riffs were on point as per usual. Also.... Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you, I heard this first as Culex's theme.... I feel like there, it's more impactful since Culex was the hardest boss in SMRPG (or one of them... when I was younger, I found Smithy harder). Plus in that game, only Culex had the theme. In FFIV, all the normal bosses had that theme. Anyhoo, obligatory song idea.... I've been listening to Chai Kingdom from Mario Land a lot recently.... And thought it might sound really good in your style.
This is one of my favorite game tracks and you crushed it. I've always wished that I could play a JRPG that had all its music in this sort of brutal metal remixed style instead of the "normal" way it's usually done in.
Lol, I heard this song from Super Mario RPG too, Jonny. I'm in the same boat! Great job with this, its an amazing song and it works so well with your style!
Man.... MAN ! That was awesome. This song has a huge part of what made me want to be a game developer, FF4 was the first game that made me think "Damn, video games are epic !" specially with that song, made me feel like being part of something important :P
You play the guitar like petrucci( S-level) hit the drums like Portnoy (S-level) Play the bass like Myung (S-Level) and are almost as good as Jordan ruddess How the hell did you get that good and master each instrument? You play with real passion and bring out the emotion of the notes and song itself. It is quite a travesty that you aren't world renown because you are a unique individual,. I can't think of anyone that mastered three instruments, could have been professional and famous on each instrument and decides to play video game music for youtube watchers. I am in awe of your talent. I hope one day you become super famous at what you do because you deserve that recognition. Btw, The way you played this battle theme was jaw dropping and gave homage to the composer of the music himself, Uematsu. THere are world class musicians who only dreams to be half as good as you are. And yet you play this video game song like a Mozart concerto. total professionalism, amazing.
A wild Gametal appeared ! Gametal used "Rockin' Outloud" 9999 Damage!! Headbang status inflicted! You headbang with Gametal to these radical beats! You use "Witty Comment" LIMIT BREAK!! 999999 Damage!! Gametal:"You have proven yourself. Good work." YOU WON!
Don't feel bad about hearing the Culex remix of this theme first. You're not the only one I've met who has. Speaking of Mario RPG, you should cover Battle with an Armed Boss, also known as the Smithy Gang battle theme.
I liked that Super Mario RPG reference you put in there. I'm happy to see that game get some recognition! Either that or whenever I see Mario on the screen, I flip the fuck out lol
Haven't beaten this game yet, I've been very off and on playing it, but my goodness is this boss theme absolutely great. I always look forward to hearing it.
I was confused as to why you hadn’t done a Culex cover yet. Then I found out what the song really was when watching ProJared. I knew that Culex was based of of FF bosses, but I don’t know how I didn’t put that together.
Friggin awesome cover! The only other FFIV boss theme cover I loved was by Powerglove in their medley. Since you played the Phantom Train in acoustic, I'm curious to hear how that cover will sound.
And if you remember sometime later, you find out that Yang, Palom and Porom actually survived their encounters. The only one who truly passed was Tellah.
It is a true tragedy that you only have 55k subscribers. There are enough metal heads and gamers alone in this world that you should be well over one million! Whats wrong with you people!? Subscribe to this fantastic Gaming Metal Patriarch! Ya'll a bunch of Spoony bards! Anyways I very much enjoyed this rendition of this boss battle. Would love to hear a rendition of "The battle with the four fiends" as well! And as I always have to say in a comment on your videos you need to do The Sinistral Battle theme from Lufia 2. That is the single greatest boss theme of all time and was born to be immortalized in a metal masterpiece!
ah final fantasy 4 aka take a drink every time kain leaves your party
"Let me ease your suffering!"
"Kain no!! double crossed again .. PFFFFTT Im sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face. We saw this coming a mile away. No, no. Take the crystal. Ok bud, we'll see you soon. **sigh** What a stupid bitch."

If you stick around long enough, at 2:51 you can see Mario RPG for a brief moment, which reuses this song. I love that detail!
Gametal is a legend. He respects the source and makes it better, every time.
I found your channel a few days ago, and am AMAZED. I rarely ever - EVER - listen to metal, but all of your arrangements are fantastic! Thanks Weston! Glad to have you aboard. :)
+Jonny Atma can you please do the final boss theme from Mario Galaxy two
Jonny Atma KING D MIND PLZ
Weston, be happy to hear that your compliment was heard! :D (although im sure you already knew but...)
Fully agree, Weston. There's a lot of stuff out there, and guys are doing their best, but this is really something. Another guy in this league (although not at all metal) is PoopPoopFart. Guys who take their game covers seriously get so much respect. It's rarely done with care to the original tone/mood/context.
Adding the fight against Culex from SMRPG as a visual in the background was a nice touch. Good job, great music.
Thank you for throwing Mario RPG on the screen at the end there, that was actually my introduction to this awesome tune! Well done!
Mine as well
"I am matter.
I am anti-matter.
I can see your past.
I can see your future.
I consume time...
And I will consume YOU!"
There will never be a time when I've had enough of this song
i know it is quite off topic but do anyone know a good site to stream new movies online?
@Felix Joseph Thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!!
Everyone ignore the four comments above. It's a scam.
Not if your normal
My mom, watching me play FF4: "how can you listen to the same song over and over again?"
Me: because it's fucking awesome, mom
Many people don't appreciate that besides the amazing talent, there is a kick ass editing job required. All is great.
GaMetal is a drug. Can't stop won't stop listening!
*C A N T S T O P W O N T S T O P*
I break bad to this!
I can’t stop listening either!
I don't even really like metal...Now GaMetal on the other hand is the pinnicale of music my ears will ever be blessed with. Great remix, as always
Then you clearly do like metal, just haven't found good songs.
I only know 1% of the songs that you play...but this is one of them and I don't think anyone else could have done it better :) thank you
Just so you know man. I have a DND campaign which has been going on for 3-4 years, and I have been keeping this song for one of the biggest bosses/baddies of the campaign for when the party encounters him.
Such great music, thanks for it. I hope my dming for my players will be half as good for that scene as the soundtrack will be :P
That Boo guitar might be the coolest thing Ive ever seen.

3:53 Wtf, is that...BASEBALL?! No...no. That's too ridicuawesome to be real. Could it really be...NINJA BASEBALL BATMAN?!
No, I think it's the Batter from OFF. I pray for Pepper Steak.
I'm one for the fall of the mortal coil myself.
And here… 4 years later… I still listen to Peppersteak on repeat after I first found it after this cover
most epic version of ffiv boss battle i have ever heard!!!! keep rocking man and btw if you did zeromus, thered be no doubt you rock the hell out of it.
Oh man what a talent! Gotta put this on loop right away. My guy you made the music from my favorite Final Fantasy just jump out of the 16 bit realm and into my spirit. 15/10.

It's only a matter of time till they try to connect Mario and Final Fantasy beyond putting them together in sports games or putting Cloud in Smash Bros. XD
Mario hoops is a thing
Hyper Spark 269 XD
I Also think in Culex!
@Landrew Sodoski: Culex is not really a part of FF. He was just made in the spirit of FF at the time. It's only a contextual reference, not a real one. I don't count it.
@@Flegan777 i get it.
You're such a good drummer man! It still blows my mind that it's you alone creating all this
I wanted to hear this for so long, and it doesn't disappoint. Phenomenal job as always, Jonny.
Woah, that whole solo from 1:12 to 1:44 rocked all kinds of face. Really neat way to play with the source.
DUDE WTH. I START PLAYING FFIV NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO, AND THIS AIRS! YOU ARE AMAZING!
I felt it. I was like... Jinx is playing FFIV, time for a FFIV cover.
I remember when you first did this FOREVER ago dude holy crap. Tbh I didnt think you would re do it. Sounds amazing!!
Already my favourite Final Fantasy theme from my favourite Final Fantasy game. Good job man
Imagine what this song will sound in the Super Mario RPG remake!
Not as good as this.
Final Fantasy IV is obviously one of the best final fantasies, Its great seeing you actually making a GaMetal for that too, You should do Zeromus.
i liked before even 1 sec in since i just knew this would be even better than his original. That one was already badass to begin with. Jonny, your skill and talent keeps growing and growing. Looking forward to adding more to my playlist ;)
I am so tremendously glad I found your channel. I am spreading it amongst my friends. Your influence must spread!
Wow. Absolutely phenomenal.
I don't know this song all that well; I honestly think of the SiIvaGunner version before actually thinking of the regular song, but I hope to change that by watching this video over and over again.
Amazing job. One of my new favorites for sure.
1:32 my guy just straight up fades in and out of reality
it just do be like that sometimes.
When the beat too good
when you take "killswitch" a little too seriously
One of my favorite boss themes of the Final Fantasy series and you rocked it man! Great job dude!
I love everything you do from covering favourites of mine like this to themes I never heard and have opened my mind to. :)
I wonder if they will use this same theme in the culex battle in the mario rpg switch remake
This is my all-time favorite of the FF boss themes, and you just made it better! Thank you! 😊
Very nice work on this. The guitar riffs were on point as per usual.

I thought this song was missing something..... and then i heard 2:33
Excellent mate you are a true warrior on that guitar :)
We need the Zeromus battle theme next!
Love that groovy bass line! Awesome work as usual, man
Holy Kefka! This is soooo amazing =8-O You rock beyond words!
Lol, I heard this song from Super Mario RPG too, Jonny. I'm in the same boat! Great job with this, its an amazing song and it works so well with your style!
Jonny, you're just bad-ass. You've inspired me to pick up my guitar again!
Like Bahamut you just melted the skin off my face - absolutely amazing.
Where can I find these acoustic outros that you've done?
your best one yet!!!! love this! keep it up :)
So now that a Mario RPG remake is coming...
We getting that RAWEST FOREST or SMITHY remix? 👀
Man.... MAN ! That was awesome.
This song has a huge part of what made me want to be a game developer, FF4 was the first game that made me think "Damn, video games are epic !" specially with that song, made me feel like being part of something important :P

Thanks Aurora, I just try my hardest! xD
Nice man! I do love the impovements! I can't wait to hear more songs honestly.
And apparently, something to do with baseball is next.
As a kid, I always thought this song was 'trying' to be metal within the limits of the SNES hardware. THIS is what that song sounds like in our heads.
I thought it was trying to be a Orchestra
> Pepper Steak is next.
This Channel will be purified soon.
No, that happens when "Whereabouts of the Heart ~ Pure Furies" is posted.
YES
omg I thought it was from 0FF get fucking HYPE
How the heck would you even make that metal?
Now we know.
I listen to this song when I battled Culex......and his battle combined with this song is....EPIC!!!
I DIDN'T KNOW YOU'D REMAKE THIS!! THIS IS RAD MAN
A wild Gametal appeared !
Gametal used "Rockin' Outloud"
9999 Damage!!
Headbang status inflicted!
You headbang with Gametal to these radical beats!
You use "Witty Comment"
LIMIT BREAK!!
999999 Damage!!
Gametal:"You have proven yourself. Good work."
YOU WON!
NO!! WE DO NOT ALLOW THE HERETICAL LIMIT BREAK BS IN THESE SACRED GAMES
Don't feel bad about hearing the Culex remix of this theme first. You're not the only one I've met who has.

FFIV Deserves a 4elemental fiends + end boss ost remade by you. Your skills are breathtaking.
I love this version of The Boss Battle Theme...I love FF, I love metal and thank you so much for this performance!!!
Greetings from northern Italy.
That solo is so zesty, Jonny. It's like a Twin Meteo to the face. D:
Your work is amazing, as always!
Taken from Pedro 3: Number Invasion (2024) - Rede Globo TV
💀
Thanks dude. Also, same I heard this song first from Super Mario RPG too lol.
AAAAAAAAAAA~~~ ♥♥♥ I *LOVE* FF4 so much!!! *AND* the FF6 acoustic short at the end, MY HEART, DUDE.
Of all your remixes this one is my favorite.
Fucking HYPE. My favorite FF boss theme, and was fittingly in SM:RPG too.
I was confused as to why you hadn’t done a Culex cover yet. Then I found out what the song really was when watching ProJared. I knew that Culex was based of of FF bosses, but I don’t know how I didn’t put that together.
I could hear this in a final fantasy IV remake on PS5. Great work.
This is the best cover of this track yet. Damn! :)
When Culex returns in Super Mario RPG remake
im from super mario rpg when i heard this first time
love it
Dude that bass is dope!
I like that Culex footage you snuck in there.
Friggin awesome cover! The only other FFIV boss theme cover I loved was by Powerglove in their medley. Since you played the Phantom Train in acoustic, I'm curious to hear how that cover will sound.

Awesome work, my second favorite final fantasy, and second favorite final fantasy song, (first being Final Fantasy 1 battle theme)
2:50
Nice to see we get some additional footage
It may have originated in FF IV, but I still think of Culex in Super Mario RPG whenever I hear this theme!
If you were to ever do Zeromus, I can safely say I would happily listen to it on a very long loop
Hope there's a version of this song in FFXIV Endwalker
That nod to Mario RPG tho.....Nice work on the arrangement, Mr. Atma.
