Girl, we teachers have the same deal from the public right now. We went from heroes to “ungrateful whiners” so quickly in the court of public opinion. Congrats!! This sounds like an amazing decision for you. I left the brick and mortar classroom a few years ago to work from home as a virtual teacher, and I absolutely love the flexibility! It’s amazing to have time to feel like yourself again and pursue other interests in your spare time. ❤️
Hi Jacqueline. This is awesome. For your fellow educators out there, can you share more on what virtual teaching jobs are out there and how you went about making the switch? Seems like it has been a great fit for you! Thank you!
I too am a teacher and feel all of this! Congratulations to both of you for being able to carve your own paths. I will say that some (or many) are not so blessed and have to stay in a thankless job to have good benefits or pay bills on time. Perhaps the conversation also needs to be had regarding these essential fields (healthcare, education, etc.) being better compensated!
Exactly. I worked as a special Ed assistant for 10+ years. I quit in order make sure my two youngest got appropriate DHOH services, which were provided more than an hour away. I miss it so much and my kids are back in our local schools (kind of, I am barreling the district currently for many different things including placement), but unfortunately my district doesn’t respect the health and safety of students or staff and as much as I want to go back to work, I cannot under these circumstances. Thank you for still teaching. I have a lot of respect for anyone still working in education or medicine.
My husband puts people to sleep as well. He quit for the same reason. You are not alone. And from what I hear from friends in medicine it is a nightmare. The medical profession is being destroyed. It breaks my heart. I was a physical therapist for 30 years. The best people are in medicine. I am so sad but I know the feeling when you have taken the weight off your shoulders. So I am happy for you and your 2 beautiful girls. You will not regret your decision. It is a win win for your family. Congratulations. As one mom to another, I am proud of you. 😁👍
As a 22 year old respiratory therapist, my love for my job has went down hill very fast working full time during the pandemic. I’m so tired, and burned out. And seeing this video is giving me the courage to do what’s right for me, and not feel ashamed or less than. Thank you! You’re so amazing. And we as health care workers are more than just our jobs
I love seeing you lean more into these other creative avenues and just going for it! We are so much more than our healthcare jobs and I am so happy to see you setting up boundaries and doing YOU!
As a chronically ill disabled person, it makes me sad that the good doctors/RNs/therapists are leaving. :( I really worry about the future of healthcare in our country.
Yeah and private equity companies are buying up practices and all they care about is more $ next quarter. Even buying up hospitals to drain all they can. Like “oh well you are now assuming our debt to a random LLC in $X amount” and then find out they have the same executives and it went in their pockets. After buying it they then institute massive layoffs, stop paying vendors and invoices, cut services, etc then claim bankruptcy and then they get to sell off the land for even more profits. Then leave the community in dire straits… near me this happened to 4 hospitals in my area in a major city in the NE. Now you can have an hour long ambulance ride and the other hospitals unless you are dying or being admitted you won’t get a room.
Look, I’m sorry. But we people in healthcare treated horribly. Pay is getting cut. “ Productivity demands are skyrocketing. The people who boss us are not even trained in healthcare. They are business people. It does not matter to them how good one is at the job. What matters is how many patients you are seeing and how much money is generated for the institution. We still are burdened with all of the liability for bad outcomes.
Kristina, all of your friends in healthcare are applauding your decision to do what is best for you, your mental health and your family! I’m a 13+ year nurse and the toxic environment that all healthcare workers are having to endure has made so many of us want to leave healthcare for good. I have a brother who left the greedy corporate world for his own mental health and sanity and has been a travel and cooking content creator for several years. He said it was the best decision of his life, has no regrets and is actually making even more money as a content creator. We only have one life and have to spend the time we do have wisely. I’d rather be happy, have my mental health intact and make less money than continue to endure the abuse of our greedy healthcare systems. Thank you for sharing your news with us, and we will continue to support you on your journey!
Congrats! I'm so proud of you!! I know this was not an easy decision and I'm excited to follow you along on your next adventure. Guess that means you should come back to LA and visit!
Bravo! You have chosen freedom rather than fear. Risk is exciting and can be invigorating.....to the mind, body and spirit. Well done. Best of luck on your journey
I am a nurse and worked in the ER/ICU for years. Once i had my kids i went to part time then prn then quit altogether. It’s been 8 years and it was the best decision i ever made. I was able to focus my time on raising tiny little humans. I just recently went back to work as an IV drip nurse at a med spa and I absolutely love it! Have zero desire to be back in the hospital. Good luck! It’s a great decision!
My Aunt was an amazing obgyn and she always regretted her career. She finally took disability for arthritis in her hands which was making surgery difficult. Two years later she died from cancer. I bet she would have done things differently had she known. As a nurse working a busy chronically understaffed medsurg unit, we had a charge nurse quit to go work in a bagel shop. Hospitals can be soul sucking institutions.
In all honesty you should do a TED talk. We, as women, need to hear it’s okay to want to stay home, have flexibility and wanting to be moms first and stay home with our children yet think outside the box for a job.
Yes!!! This reminds me of the movie Mona Lisa Smile. At the end, one of the young females makes the point that female rights isn’t just about the right to work instead of staying home, but the freedom to choose! And just because she was chose to stay home and not work didn’t mean she wasn’t embracing female rights. She got to choose and that was the point. ❤️
Yes!! So happy for you, the biggest fallacy we learn as children is that you need to know what you "want to do when you grow up". Your job ≠ your identity, and your interests and passions should be able to evolve and grow as you do the same. You seem so happy and I'm happy you took the chance to have more balance in your life.
PRN SAVED MY LIFE when I had kids. We also ran a restaurant at that time. Even 7p-7a, though brutal in OB, gave me more time. However it made me a true insomniac. You are going to be thanking yourself!!
My son changed his mind to go into medicine. I'm devastated, he got an apartment and a job at Tampa General for tuition coverage. It hurt him that his view of my workplace growing up disappeared. Maybe later he may pick up with Anes Assisting instead. When the world is "right" again.
So happy for you! I’m a critical care NP and you spoke to my soul! Having the downtime to be able to travel, spend time with my family and children, and pursue other interests/hobbies is how I recharge. I feel like healthcare professionals are being encouraged to celebrate denying ourselves this self care. On top of that, when you spend so much time (and $) reaching for a dream, it almost feels like a failure to step away or press pause. I am so inspired by your message! So brave!
Sending this to my entire nurse group chat! Honestly it’s so hard to not feel like a failure or “taking the easy way out” to step aside from nursing, but if you have another journey in mind, chase your dreams yall 🥰
Honestly, am very jealous of your decision. I am a doctor and worked so hard and spent so much time energy and money to become one, but truly I hate it. I think between the corporations making decisions and the abusive behavior of some patients and family it’s terrible. It’s the biggest regret of my life.
Jessica, I’m in the same boat as you…except I was a teacher. Now I’m at a loss for what makes me happy and passionate…it’s been difficult trying to transition into another career especially when my paycheck is needed to support my family of 6. The fear I have of not finding something I will be happy doing is overwhelming.
@@asdfjklasdfjkl408 You can get out now! One of my classmates got out at the beginning of second year and she is a happy graphic designer now. Meanwhile, all of the rest of us are burned out doctors. I will always admire her for her bravery.
Some patients expect miracles without lifting a finger to help themselves. Sorry you had some of these experiences, but there are those of us that really appreciate doctors and nurses and know that you are doing the best within your powers.
I cannot contain how happy I am for you!!! I was listening to you during this video and it felt like you were speaking to my soul and verbalizing things that I couldn’t even make sense of in my head! As a pharmacist I have a unique and cool job but I am still struggling! On paper and to the outside world the job sounds so cool and amazing but I keep ending the day feeling unfulfilled and like parts of me are missing. I appreciate that you have shown people that the way something has always been done (ex: practicing medicine as your ONLY identity) is no longer necessary. And encouraging people to feel validated if they want to pursue multiple interests. I also love that you are showing that you can monetize your passions but not make it your sole purpose in life. Thank you for being vulnerable, inspiring, and giving me hope! Sending you ALL THE LOVE!
fellow pharmacist here! i think we are ALL struggling. this video does give me hope, too, that maybe i could find another passion and step away from the only thing i've known for 10+ years.
I have been watching you for years - since Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly - and I have watched your growth and progression over these many years and I must say, I am so very proud of you and your dedication to not only your work, but your own passions and creativity. Always take care of yourself first! I am so glad you put your own mask on first. You even look so much happier and more relaxed. Keep dreaming and keep doing the dream! Be blessed, C.
I stepped away from my RN job this past spring. I was a surgical floor nurse for almost 20 years. I love what I did, I miss the way it used to be. It was who I was and I feel like I’ve lost my identity. I was so proud of being a nurse but the past couple years have been so toxic. I don’t regret walking away but there are times I tear up remembering all the good times. My hubby and I have owned a business for 20 years that is really growing and doing well. I’m trying to find my niche there helping more and wanting to “be wanted”. Thank you for this video. Being an RN wasn’t who I was, it was just a part of me and I will always cherish it. I did not give up my license so maybe there’s a different path for me that’s not in acute care. Keep being you, you’re amazing.
I went prn 3 years ago (hospitalist) and have never once regretted my decision. I get as much as work as I want monthly, I get weekends and holidays with my family, and make my own schedule around my kids school events and such. Best decision ever. Medicine is still my passion but it’s irrevocably changed now and it’s not something i can do full time anymore. Congrats on your decision 😊
I sincerely appreciate you speaking on burnout, balance, and mental health. You are amazing and so appreciated. I wish you to find happiness and balance in all you do!
Congratulations! And kudos for speaking up about the culture shift within corporate medicine and society's misplaced anger towards doctors and nurses. The problem is bigger than this pandemic and will ultimately compromise patient care. Most of these people don't understand the scientific method let alone identify how healthcare policies and "mismanagement" create the chaos we suffer from today. We need to treat our healthcare providers well, otherwise, there may be very few left.
Great decision, my brother is an ER doctor. They self roster and that has helped keep staff. They have staff working from a half day a month to over full time. Their staff are able to pursue other interests while keeping their skills up. Other hospitals using rota coordinators who ignore requests struggle to keep their staff
hmmm. I am not sure I even like hearing this... it sounds like what we do at Amazon sorting packages.. those businesses are not the same.. healthcare and sorting packages..
@@a.kaiser8965 self rostering at the hospital my brother works at, all staff of same grade and specialty meet 4 times a year and spend a few hours going through a three month period filling in the shifts. Since they started this they haven’t had to use expensive agency staff. Then as life throws curve balls they swap with each other to cover shifts.
You INSPIRE me. I’m so happy for you and your family. I’m currently finishing up my AA degree in Health Sciences and my BSN. However- like you, I’m currently a PCT and TBH- wanting to travel with my kids and be more present for them. (I’m a single Deaf parent to 4 under 8) and thinking about shifting my perspective to be more behind the scenes such as focusing on what’s really important to me in healthcare. For one- healthcare ASL interpreting is at a dismal place and rate right now and that’s one of my desires- to fix it and one of my goals is to set up a virtual/digital interpreting agency. It has been one of my dreams and honestly you really inspire me to literally think about changing my shift perspective to this. I’m so proud of you and your family. Looking forward to more of your content!!
Congrats!! I am a nurse and I took off a few months mid pandemic because of my Son being high risk, and now that I need to go back to work, I’m having a REALLY HARD TIME finding the motivation to do it. The way I know our healthcare community is being treated is just a toxic environment and I really don’t want to go back…☹️ But, good for you, being so brave to step back and pursue your passions! Respect!
Well done. I did the same 6 months ago and am so much happier. I was over extended mentally as an RN and dreaded the situation I was in. So many problems which nobody was able to deal with or improve on with no change in sight. Hurray for us.
I feel your pain and burnout. I’m a teacher in NYC. And at one point we were all “angels” and “heroes” for transforming education onto a virtual platforms in such a little amount of time with little guidance from the system. Now, we are just being blamed for students falling behind and not “catching them up” fast enough. It’s horrible and sad. You inspire me to continue to pursue my other loves outside of the classroom. I’m so happy for you! Congrats! ❤️
I'm so sorry that you are blamed for things. Please know that a lot of us still think wholeheartedly that you are all angels and heroes, for as little or as long as you are in the profession. Be kind to yourself and try to ignore people who cannot see your light.
I feel excited for you Kristina! My husband is a partner in a law firm, and there are many leaving law firms also (but not law). The crazy hours, the stress, demanding clients, being on call 24/7, never really being on holiday, or having a weekend off, as clients expect the same level of attention regardless. The general population is having a kind of awakening thanks to the pandemic and changing the way they choose to live life. Kudos to you for having the courage to make change.
This resonates with me big time. When my husband was deployed for a year, my burn out as a teacher just grew astronomically, so even though I didn’t have another job lined up and my husband didn’t have a job lined up for after he came home, we decided it would be best for me to quit and focus on starting a family. It was the best decision I ever made, and even though being a stay at home mom can be super frustrating and tiring, it was definitely the best decision for me and our family :)
I can totally relate. I'm an RN and I went prn after I had baby #3 and it was the most freeing feeling of actually being present for my kids. Healthcare has changed so much in the last 10 years and the constant go go go caused serious burnout for me to the point of not wanting to be in healthcare anymore.
I’m about to make a big pivot from conventional clinical medicine & I’m SO glad I found your video because all I’ve felt is guilt. Thank you for sharing your experience 🥺
Omg I am SO happy for you! I left my job as a healthcare worker last year to pursue my passions and it really opened my heart when you said, "I'm free!" As a younger woman I'm such a huge fan of you as a person and your work, and you truly inspire me. We're all multi-faceted and multi-dimensional beings not defined by any one thing. Here's to doing what feels right for you! Thank you for sharing your journey with us
You have no idea how much I needed this video today. I have been sitting on the fence with my teaching job all year. This pandemic has completely drained the teaching life out of me. I have been running a side hustle, which has been like a 2nd full-time job for a year now. And, that is what I want to do. I want to be able to be creative and find myself again. I laid in my bed last night and cried because I was struggling with what to do and I asked God to please give me a sign. I get on TH-cam and this video pops up. I wish I could give you a big hug, Kristina. I have followed your journey since 2014 and want to say thank you.
I’m so happy for you, Kristina! I am an RN and was so unhappy for quite a few years. I was too young for burn out. Too new. So I’m July of 2020, I stepped away from the beside and took a work from home research job. It is PRN as well. It was the best decision I ever made. And to be honest, I’m not sure I would go back to “regular nursing” again. Excited for you and to see how far you go!
The idea that any occupation defines us is so hard to get away from. You will succeed in anything you do and I’m so excited to watch your journey! Any content you make or job/passions you pursue we are ready to watch🎉
Congrats!! My mom worked per diem as a nurse and the flexibility of the schedule was imperative when it came to her being available in our lives. Great job prioritizing your family and happiness!
Omg I’m so happy for you!! This is amazing! ☺️ In layman’s terms, you’re now a “Substitute Anesthesiologist”. How freaking awesome!! You get to pick your own schedule, continue getting paid well, choose long term jobs if your heart desires in a different location where you can travel and explore when off the clock, that’s perfect! 🥰 I actually am almost done with my undergrad for my bachelor’s degree in child development (to go into teaching) and I was able to get into Substitute teaching before I started this last semester of mine and I loveeee it! I get to do what I love, without the actual stress of lesson planning, I get paid well, and I get to learn from other teachers from various grades about classroom management, classroom setups, student jobs, etc! It’s wonderful. 🥰
I started working as an RN on a step down unit with a ton of covid patients and although I LOVE what I do & I love caring for my patients, I love being home with my daughter & husband more. My daughter is only a year old, I started working two days a week and it has been life changing. I am SO much happier and so is my family. I never thought caring for covid patients would take an emotional toll on me but it has. I left work everyday thinking about my patients who couldn’t sit up in bed, who needed intubated after fighting so hard and the families who would ask me if their loved ones would make it to see another Christmas. It was heart wrenching. Congrats on your decision! Your babies need a present and happy mama ❤️
I almost cried watching your video. I’m so burnt out in healthcare, but I love my team and for now it’s keeping me where I am. Congrats on your new adventure. The climate in almost all hospitals has really shifted toward travelers/locums, so I’m sure you will be very in demand.
It definitely felt like your light was not shining as bright in 2021. It’s wonderful to see you excited and perky and excited again! Congratulations!! ❤️❤️
So happy for you! I’m a RN and thank goodness I went part time at the start of the pandemic, I don’t think I could still do full time! Enjoy your new freedom! ❤️
This video! I needed to see this. I’ve been a nurse 10+ years and the last 18months - 2years has literally sucked the life out of me professionally. Heck, who am I kidding…it’s sucked the life out of me in every aspect. And by this, I mean the pandemic. I’ve been toying around with leaving nursing. It’s just become a true toxic environment like you said. Your enthusiasm for what lies ahead is inspiring and who knows…maybe it’s time for me to make a change too. Life is too dang short to be not living because you’re too stifled by a bunch of B.S. Congratulations, to you! Truly admirable! 🎉🎈🎉
Surgical tech here. I have followed your YT for quite a while and love your content. Congrats on new beginnings!! I am currently in first assist school now and totally relate to everything you said. Best wishes in your new journey!!! 💜💜
congrats on the first assist journey! LSA's are the best! Seriously the sweetest gig ever. I know many surgeons who have said they'd rather have been an LSA. Show up, operate, not have to do notes or clinic or build a practice. so awesome.
Yay! Congratulations Dr. Braly! I work PRN as a PCT in dialysis because I’m going to school full time and starting my nursing program in August. Part of me feels really guilty, especially as omicron has been really affecting our clinic and my coworkers are feeling burnt out, but it selfishly has been the best decision for this season of my life. You gotta do what’s best for you! ❤️
🥳Good for you Dr Braly!! I am an ICU RN and have worked this pandemic since the beginning and wow how things have changed. I think back to 8 years ago when I was a brand new ICU nurse and how different hospital life was… now it just seems so chaotic, unorganized, no accountability from all the traveling staff, patient care is just not the same sadly. I wish I could do something like you and find a creative outlet that also has a cash flow. Keep livin your dream and inspiring others!
Congratulations on doing what’s best for you and your family. I’ve been a medical assistant for a huge chunk of my career, and after a rough summer and early fall, found I was burned out. After a lot of thought and prayer, I left healthcare all together and pursued another path. I’m happier than ever, less stressed and enjoying more time with family. ❤️
I love how you said that you’ve wanted to create this life for yourself and your family and you MANIFESTED it. You’ve earned it and your hard work always paid off. You deserve it and glad God gave you the opportunity to and a right time. Hats off to this super mom.!
Good for you! It’s hard being in healthcare. Especially right now. As a pharmacy intern graduating next year, the appreciation has always been down for my profession, now more than ever it’s been even worse. Wishing you all the bestest in life
I just left my practice at the beginning of the year to be a SAHM for awhile(maybe forever?) I was nervous about the change, but I was not in a good place mentally. I love and miss my patients but I needed to do what's best for me and my family. Congratulations on the change! I hope you continue to feel so happy!
After having severe hyperemesis gravidarum and mental exhaustion and being told I could only take 2 weeks leave after birth, I had enough and quit my IT job even tho I made a lot more than my partner. It was financially rough for a few years but now he makes 3x as much as I did (also in IT, we met at work) and I get to stay home with my (now 4!) kids which was always my dream. I have not regretted quitting even once, I wasn't valued, I wasn't treated fairly or equitably and I didn't love the work. Even knowing I could be making a ton of money and could be living in a bigger home with more luxury, I don't care, I would rather be a small content creator making almost nothing in my spare time and be happy and I don't ever see myself in IT again. Kudos to women like you who make the choice to put their health and sanity and family first!
As a fellow severe HG survivor, that is terrible of them and awesome of you to leave! Sounds like you’re much happier ❤️ I left my job as an attorney for 2 years after my HG journey and am back working for a wonderful organization now. 😁
@@christine-joylovepaper3146 Thank you and congratulations on doing what you love at a great place, that's the key! After my littles are bigger I plan to work on my own business full time, but never again for someone else! ♥️♥️
So happy for you, I've looked up to you for my entirety of medical school. Medicine will be a huge part of my life, but I believe everyone has many callings. Only difference between us is how many of the calls we answer!
I’m just a CPhT in a retail pharmacy but we are feeling it as well. So I feel you and I’m so happy you are able to pursue all your passions and live life how you want!
So proud of you. And makes me feel better about my choice which is similar. I am currently a manual osteopath but I’m not enjoying it anymore. My patients love their treatments, but after an injury I suffered, the job causes me pain. In the last 3.5 years I have been under the most mental strain I’ve ever been under, going thru a divorce after 20 years of marriage, trying to make sure my 3 girls have as supportive and good life as I can after their dad just up and left us and doesn’t want to help them or even really see them. I’ve found that helping people in dealing with similar situations as what I’ve been going thru. I’ve been trying to shift to more of a counselling career over a manual therapy career and I’ve been scared because I am the sole support for my family, but I know this is what will make me happiest and I could work from home to be closer to my family. You have given me faith that I can make this happen for myself and my family 💜
Hi Kristina! I’m a long time PSS Stan. First and foremost, congratulations 🎉! I’m happy that you’re happy. I know in a recent video you talked about how you have no problems setting and maintaining boundaries. 2021 was the year I personally started that practice and I’m so grateful for it. Your words in this really resonated with me- “You don’t have to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.” I haven’t found a way that is easily digestible to explain to people around me the whole boundaries concept but I think this will help explain it quite well. Thank you!
Awe congrats! When my daughter got her wisdom teeth out we had a freelance anesthesiologist because she needed general rather than the IV sedation. He came to the oral surgeon's office and took great care of her. I think he was out of Kingwood and came way out to Friendswood.
As an RN thank you for doing this video. I have taken a step away from nursing for the time being for the same reasons. I love nursing and don’t see it as a forever change. Focusing on other creative outlets and raising our toddler. This was very reassuring in my decision.
He’s so much happier. Amazing how leaving something energetically negative can affect your entire family. I’m happier, he’s happier, my kids are happier. In the end that’s all that matters
I 100% agree with this whole video. I’ve been a nurse for 5 years and I am currently transitioning away from the hospital for better hours, the 12 hour shifts and at night is not family friendly right now for me and my family. I can’t wait to go part time or prn and pursue new passions once we financial get in the place. So excited for you and you’re new journey!!!
So happy for you Kristina 🎉🎊. I’m a high risk OB/GYN Sonographer of 20+ years and I totally get what you are saying. My hubby has already retired from his career due to Covid and I was going to work for a few more years because I absolutely have always loved my job - it never felt like a chore to go to work - but we are definitely rethinking my retirement date. The crisis is real. It’s getting harder and harder to stay positive and “love” going in to work as I have always done. It’s great you can do this and have so many other blessings in your life 😊.
Wow, amazing. Congratulations on the huge and brave decision! I am so happy for you...very exciting. When I read the title, I thought we were losing another healthcare worker. I am glad to know that you still love your job and you are still staying in the industry...YAY! Wishing you much success and happiness!
I had a feeling you were gonna tell us this. Good luck & God bless you and your family on this new chapter in life. Thank you for empowering us! Hopefully we will be able to still view all your videos/content when you start the new membership thing. 😢. I really enjoy watching your videos & they make a really big impact on my day. ❤️
Yas queen! So proud of you!! Being a nurse I know how crazy the work/life balance can be and that’s without having multiple businesses like you! Things are only looking up for you, can’t wait to see where this takes you ❤️
I really appreciate this message. I really needed to hear this. I’m almost done with school to become a LVT, and I’m burning out. I have been wrapped up in thinking that my career defines me, but as you said, it doesn’t. I’m glad you are happy, and I wish you the best for you and your family!
BOSS LADY. You didn’t quit! U just changed the frequency of your hours. I completely admire that. I’ve been following you since you suggested reading the Discovery of Witches trilogy! (which I did.. chef’s kiss!) anyway, congratulations again!!!🍾🎉
I'm so happy for you ! That is a hard decision to make, but it seems right for you. You look so happy. I worked full time as an RN, but cut back my hours more and more with each kid I had. Health care is very demanding, both physically and mentally, so sometimes you just need to step back. I went on call for many years and made my own schedule so I could be more present for my family. I never regretted it.
So happy for you. We Fire and EMS workers feel the burnout so very much as well. Thank you for all you do for your fellow co workers and patients. Much love to you and your family
Amazing for you putting YOU first. It’s a hard thing for us healthcarians to do. I’m a NICU nurse in a massive tertiary hospital. I love my job but the pandemic has really sapped my passion. I just started university again I’m now going to be studying my childhood dream in conservation biology and ecology .
As a PA-C I feel like the pandemic has caused me to go through a mid-life crisis, basically questioning my entire career path. I am looking into going Locum full-time, but it is terrifying.
we’re all soooooo proud of you, sis! your happiness, peace, + mental health are very important. i’m glad that you’re putting yourself first. i can’t wait to see what kinda content we get going forward!
Hi Kristina! I am so happy for you and how far you have come in your journey. I have been watching your videos probably close to a decade, and I have admired your drive and realness. My husband works for HFD, so seeing the pandemic through his eyes has been very difficult. I have so much respect for all in the medical and first responder fields. I am working on my own creative outlet in addition to my day-to-day as a project manager. You have been someone that I have looked up to in going ahead with allowing myself to do that. So, thank you for just being you! Best wishes in everything you have coming in the future.
Kristina-you are so brave and I’m so happy for you. I’m a hospitalist NP and you have shown me that it’s ok to have other interests-creatively. I want to get into gardening and spending time at our family ranch and maybe start writing a children’s book. I love taking care of patients but I agree the pandemic has changed everything. Honestly I could tell during vlogmas you were “off” but I was praying for you because you are such a wonderful person with such a good heart. What a powerful video. I think this is one of the most important videos you’ve ever done
Congratulations Kristina! I quit my job in April 2021 and the relief I felt right after woo! So far it’s been the greatest decision made for our family 💗
As a Physiotherapist and a health care worker we can totally feel you. You did what makes you happy. Lately its been very very stressful. Congratulations!!!!🎊🎉
Unless you are working in health care or are close family - you know nothing about how hard it is! That article is just blow below.... You know what is best for you and I am proud to see you are brave and just chose what is best for you and your family, because I am sure it was not an easy decision to make. Over here, we have a public health care system, and that is just going mad recently and people do leave their jobs and pursue something else or stay within medicine but different direction. Also, indeed you look happier than ever!
My bestie went to prn nicu nursing when she had her babies.🥰 Congratulations on your decision! P.S I am so grateful for my team of doctors, nurses, medical assistants, receptionists, pharmacists, EVERYONE involved right now helping me with my chronic illness. I'm being as graceful as a patient as I can and as understanding as possible. It's hard bc there are so many delays right now but I know it's not anyone's fault, it's crisis mode right now.
Absolutely loved this video and update! I have been an inpatient nurse for 5 years and went part time 6 months ago… best thing I’ve done for me and my family! Burn out is so real! Congrats to you on the huge step
Hi Kristina! Let me just say I totally understand how you feel! I work as a scrub in a OR . You are so spot on Health care has become a toxic environment. Its because everyone is burned out. Life in the OR is tough. We have to schedule our vacations months in advance, even just for a day off. Its hard. And yes the Anesthesiologist at my Hospital are also having to now go to different hospitals and work, as a part of thier work schedule. None seem to happy. Im happy your free doing you and feeling good about you! Take care- Crystal
So happy for you!! I've been noticing all the frequent and creative content and can't wait for what is to come! 😊😊 Also you've completely influenced me to start bullet journaling, I am starting my journal this weekend! lol
I’m a physical therapist and this pandemic inspired me to slow my life down to part-time in order to enjoy more family time. Best decision of my life. Now I look forward to work even more and enjoy my days more than ever. Congratulations!!!
As a home health Occupational therapist, I truly understand the frustration . It’s been very tough with health care last few years and I feel it’s not going to get better! Enjoy !
I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! As a radiologist, I switched to locum three years ago and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made. The freedom has been life-changing, and it’s priceless. I love watching your luxury purchases videos!! Wishing you all the best with your creative endeavors.
I understand everything you say and yes healthcare workers have been hit ( specially nurses, respiratory therapist, techs etc more than doctors) but everybody has been hit by this pandemic, changed our lives completely. Doctors have become apathetic and passionless. I’m an attorney and the amount of cases of domestic abuse, child abuse, immigration and undocumented people has been on a wave nonstop and the system doesn’t work but I strongly believe that in my case, I keep working and leaving that at the door when I come home. And this is coming from a mom who dealt with virtual learning and a kid with a disability. All of this will make us stronger.
I left the my position at the hospital I worked at for 6 years last October. I still work in the medical field, but I am able to work from home now. I set my own hours and I am so much happier and less stressed out now. Congratulations 🎉 I believe a month or so after I left, all the anesthesiologists quit, so surgeries screeched to a halt.
Freedom is everything! Happy for You!
Thanks Michael!
Yes absolutely this has affected teachers in the worst ways. y'all literally SHAPE the future of nations and the way y'all are treated is despicable.
💯
Hey fellow RRT. I'm PRN and love it!
Hey, another RRT here, & I just went prn too! 🙌
Hey. Retired RT here ♥️30 years!!
“has went”?
We still are burdened with all of the liability for bad outcomes.
we r still here
Girl as an inpatient RN, this pandemic has CHANGED us and it’s not for the better. I am so proud of you!!!! Congratulations!!! 🎉
I swear to God. As I’m typing this, I am so burnt out! I’m tired! The money isn’t even worth it. I am burnt out
@@natashasharon4678 I’m currently applying to WFH RN jobs. I can’t do it anymore either. We’re still nurses even if we leave bedside. 💙
Haha absolutely friend! We need to hang out 😘
@@kristinabraly congrats on quitting.
This is so inspirational, thank you! **Don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm**

Ooh, I love that quote!

I felt this... the money isn't worth your mental health and freedom.
@@deeslifestyleloves Amen
@Disturbed work in a pizzaria now, what the hell?

That is one of the smartes things I have heard in weeks and I could not agree more!
I can see the joy in your decision. I am so happy for you and this next chapter!
Smart kid. Medicine isn’t worth it anymore.
Awesomeness! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I needed to see this sooo very much. Thank you. 🕊❤🕊
Honestly, am very jealous of your decision. I am a doctor and worked so hard and spent so much time energy and money to become one, but truly I hate it. I think between the corporations making decisions and the abusive behavior of some patients and family it’s terrible. It’s the biggest regret of my life.
I’m a current MS2 and a former allied health provider. I regret medical school. I wish I knew what I was getting into, I would not do it again.
This is so sad. You should be treated better.
Thanks for sharing!!
Carve out your career, it doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s ❤️ love this message!
Congrats Kristina , as a nurse with many creative passions, you are speaking straight to my heart!!
Try to write a novel Wanda.
@@julia2jules it really does work well.
The way I know our healthcare community is being treated is just a toxic environment and I really don’t want to go back…☹️
But, good for you, being so brave to step back and pursue your passions! Respect!
Teacher here as well. Feeling the same way you are with the unrealistic expectations. I’m exhausted…. Daily.
Congratulations on being courageous enough to “take a leap of faith” !
Congratulations! I think many of us in healthcare can relate to the points you addressed. Excited for you to enter your next chapter! Xx
Thank you for sharing your journey with us
What doing now?
So proud of you!!! This was a very brave decision and I truly believe God will surprise you throughout this whole new journey ♥︎
I'm in medical school now and I love what you said about medicine not being your entire personality. I hope to find that same balance someday!
I actually am almost done with my undergrad for my bachelor’s degree in child development (to go into teaching) and I was able to get into Substitute teaching before I started this last semester of mine and I loveeee it!

congrats on the first assist journey!
Wishing you all the bestest in life
I just left my practice at the beginning of the year to be a SAHM for awhile(maybe forever?)
I was nervous about the change, but I was not in a good place mentally.

Good for you!! Ended up being a blessing!! Best of both worlds now! You go sister! 🥰
Thank you!
This kind of thing gives me such hope for the future and the way I want to practice medicine as a future doctor. Thank you!!!
Awe congrats! When my daughter got her wisdom teeth out we had a freelance anesthesiologist because she needed general rather than the IV sedation. He came to the oral surgeon's office and took great care of her. I think he was out of Kingwood and came way out to Friendswood.
As an anesthesiologist myself, I applaud you. Medicine has changed so much and not for the better. Congrats!
As an RN thank you for doing this video. I have taken a step away from nursing for the time being for the same reasons. I love nursing and don’t see it as a forever change. Focusing on other creative outlets and raising our toddler. This was very reassuring in my decision.
How is your husband handling it all?
Good for you! You will be able to spend so much more time doing the creative things you love. Happy for you❤️
As a PA-C I feel like the pandemic has caused me to go through a mid-life crisis, basically questioning my entire career path.
Suspense level 100😲
As a Physiotherapist and a health care worker we can totally feel you. You did what makes you happy. Lately its been very very stressful. Congratulations!!!!🎊🎉
Congratulations! I'm a teacher and I hear you loud and clear!!! Enjoy flying!😊
Thanks Crystal! Yes I agree and I’m sorry it’s been tough for you too. Hugs to you!
Bitcoin is the future. Investing in it now will be the wisest to do especially with the current dip

Thank you!!!
Congratulations 🎉
I believe a month or so after I left, all the anesthesiologists quit, so surgeries screeched to a halt.
