Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling is among boxing's most talked-about bouts. Schmeling took the first match in 1936 by a knockout in round 12 but Louis won the second bout in 1938 with a knockout in the first round. The two fights came to embody the broader political and social conflict of the time. It was actually great to see Schmelling help Joe up after he knocked him out. Been doing my research and it's disheartening that Schmelling depicted as a Nazi apologist when he really wasn't.
Joe Louis gloves were loaded with concrete for the 2nd fight , the OSS and the Roosevelt crew couldn’t take the chance of him losing the propaganda war
BRO THATS THE MOST MADE UP BS EVER MAX SCMELLING ACTUALLY SENT TO THE FUCKING CAMPS AFTER LOSING AND FOR A POLITIC HE WAS IN THE CAMPS HOW WEIRD THE NAZIS WERE
@@emmavila8345 You really think they would have gotten away with something like that? Or that Schmelling and Louis would have remained friends if he cheated? Highly unlikely.
In '38 Max got on the canvas. He saw Joe. But nobody told him he was supposed to fight him. I'll never understand that second bout. ....you see? Works the other way around too. But both sentences are stupid. Both fighters showed great fights, Max in '36 and Joe in '38.
