The deficit basically acting as a fee you're essentially paying them for the service they're providing in getting rid of your junk for you. It's the same as when you go to a convenience store. It's more expensive than the grocery store, but you're willing to pay that extra money for the convenience of how much quicker and easier it is to get in and out, not to mention the convenience of location. Pawn shops are the same thing, except instead of directly paying for the service, you're indirectly paying for it by receiving less money than you otherwise would for the item you're unloading.

If you don't pay the loan back, they sell the item to recoup their money. You see it all the time on the show. My heart absolutely broke for that poor lady with the Elvis document. I mean it’s not often you see someone who is let down and it’s a genuine tragedy. I felt so terrible for her because she had this believing it was real especially knowing her deep devotion to Elvis and how much she admires him, to find this out after all these years I feel so sorry for her and I really hope she finds some good fortune soon

I really enjoy this show but what I really like most is the dynamic among the three main players. Their honesty on the show with how they relate and react with each other is refreshing and very funny. I don't understand why some of the customers get upset when they come in and don't get the money they want. A pawn shop is not where you go to get top dollar for whatever it is they're trying to sell. But sometimes Rick is very greedy with his offers.
I felt sorry for the lady with the phony Elvis contract. You could tell she was devastated, and their hearts all sank. She also reminds me a lot of my mom.

The fact that Joyce (the Elvis contract lady) was lied to by her friend that she got the signed Elvis contract and she held onto it all these years hoping to get $10,000 for it, only to find it out it’s a paper copy and essentially worthless is definitely devastating. I really enjoy this show but what I really like most is the dynamic among the three main players. Their honesty on the show with how they relate and react with each other is refreshing and very funny. I don't understand why some of the customers get upset when they come in and don't get the money they want. A pawn shop is not where you go to get top dollar for whatever it is they're trying to sell. But sometimes Rick is very greedy with his offers.

It doesn't matter what the owner spent on the item, what matters is what it's actually worth and any person with some sense should realize this
