From my understanding, Season 2 was already like 60% to 70% done when Season 1 finished airing. A lot of manhwa readers were upset at the animation while season 1 aired saying Solo Leveling deserved better animation. In response, I remember the insider that was leaking all kinds of info said to be patient with the animation since season 2 was getting a lot more resources allocated to it. Season 1 was like the "tutorial" or "prologue", so it got less resources.

Appreciate the insight...Glad to see a company that is trying to continue to improve despite an already really great Anime and Manga (to the best of my knowledge) The animation does look really clean for Season 2. The healer was the red head Joohee, she retired i think ep 8 or so, the blonde is Cha Haein, S-Rank hunter, she never met Jinwoo but we saw little bits of her with the other higher ranks in the first season
There's 179 cannon chapters, 200 if you count the side story, which is basically extras for fan service and to set up the sequel Ragnarok. Season one covered chapters 1-45, while expanding some of the fight scenes and adding light novel scenes. A rough estimate is season 2 will cover chapters 46 to 89/90ish to conclude that arc, and not spoil the next. So if it keeps it's popularity we're looking at 4 potential seasons in total, if they stick to the 12/13episode format 👍
After Solo Leveling, there is a sequel called Solo Leveling Ragnarok. This story expands on the world-building and characters a lot more, and I can see a lot of 5+ season content with just the current novel. It is not like Boruto to Naruto as in SL fans generally like the sequel as much if not more than the original so you can expect the legacy to keep going strong. Also side note: I read somewhere that the directors will expand on the story more than the manwha (It focused more on Jinwoo and kind of ignored the others) so it is gonna take stories from the novel that were not adapted into the Manhwa so the anime is definitely gonna be longer than the 200 manhwa chapters worth content too.
Would love to see them not 1 to 1 the Manga and incorporate some new ideas separate from the manga as long as they are integrated to the story well. Can't wait for season 2 and beyond!
