Right? Speaking of that I still have my virtual boy. I traded half my SNES games plus birthday money when I was 11 to buy that at electronics boutique. .... So for nostalgia sakes I dusted it off and sat down to play Red Alert.
After all these years It works ...but ...still sucks.

That Hoobs game looked like torture. The tv show used to air at 6am in UK on channel 4, waking up to it was like a nightmare, weird show

The 2D games on the PSX were excellent, the 3D ones though that weren't main titles like MGS and Silent Hill seemed very artistically experimental. @1:41:00 for example is straight up weird. The opening for Centipede is like someone stuck a bunch of primitive shapes together in 3dsmax, I remember making animations like that back in high school and early college in 3dsmax on Windows 95/98 that I realized later never needed to see the light of day. It's kind of like the PSX was the best 2D platform around but a lot of coders wanted to experiment with 3D. I remember being frustrated over the art direction on titles like Contra and Mega Man Legends on the PSX thinking they should have taken more of a Castlevania SOTN direction, mostly 2D with some minimal 3D augmenting it, rather than going all out 3D with low poly and not so great texture resolution.
Love seeing these PS games. Thanks for this and doing it without monetization. Mike is a legend.
The shear amount of butt-fuckery that goes on on your streams is mind numbing, in the best way. Don't stop being who you are, I'll watch mike well into his 70s if he stays as salty and animated.

Driver in survival mode in san francisco is great. There's a glitch where if you tap the bottom of any flipped car it flies way up in the air or across the street, it's funny. There's also a director mode after survival mode games where you can film it and adjust cuts and angles to capture it all
I like the reflections on the floor in Ten Pin. I always like seeing what tricks they have for older games.
Beast Wars you know the creators thought that intro was the next coming of the Matrix.

Could you give Medievil a go? It's a 3d action adventure game with a gothic horror theme. The second one isn't as good but worth it thematically.

I'm kind of amazed at the skill of Mike's chat to find some of the most boring and mediocre games to recommend. I mean Lucky Luke, wow.
Hey Mike, I was super into Beast Wars: Transformers back in the day. It starts out a bit low brow liek the original, but it eventually became a really intense show with developed characters and an involved plot. It had a sequel show called Beast Machines which was so dark it alienated a lot of fans, myself included. But Beast Wars was when Transformers became "serious" for a minute and really had some good writers in the later seasons.

Bruh, Not only did Mike just stumble upon the legendary Dingo Pictures with that "Lion and the King" thing, he also thought it was Kimba having no idea that this "game" actually takes screen caps from Kimba to make a half assed puzzle games!!
Also, that "Lion King ripped off Kimba" crap has been thoroughly debunked by YMS. You don't even need to watch YMS, if you honestly think Kimba is anything like the Lion King, you have not seen any Kimba at all.
Just a tip Mike, I noticed when you were playing Final DOOM you never discovered that you could strafe left and right using L2/R2 triggers. Just wanted to let you know about that so the next time you play a PS1 DOOM game you'll have a better experience.
I mean, if i was going to really play final doom I’d play it on PC. I was just checking it out.

A year ago or so I bought 4 Trueblue Mini for the PS Classic. That makes about 500 games.

@@mikematei for real it is surprising i remember this demo on a disc with other games from the playstation underground i believe and my dad owned ten pin alley as well as tekken 2 and played those alot road rash jailbreak wasnt too bad either another one of a kind is tomba! too so many ps1 games i can think of that were pretty good its a shame the retro games seem alot more attention grabbing than new ones
