It is pretty old, Earl and J were still with the group, and Geoff’s son William was only a baby and I believe he’s six now. That, along with Take me Home Country Roads were filmed there. In the BTS, Kathy revealed that the cabin that they used in Trapped! was also on that property, which was a huge surprise, at least to me. I would really like to see Geoff and VoicePlay do some more country. While I don't dispute the talents of Home Free, I have been disappointed by almost all my country faves they have done with the exception of Elvira, which makes sense cause Geoff is largely responsible for the arrangement on that one. There's a couple that I would seriously love to hear Geoff & Co. do the arrangements on, as he/they have a way of both honoring the original, yet adding to it in such a manner that rivals the originals in my eyes.

Except that Dylan's voice and delivery were so painful that my opinion of him (Dylan) has never recovered. The (unique) bridge sounds like it may be an adaption of another folk traditional, "Take Me to the River". I hope Mr Castellucci let's us know his inspiration for it. I think it makes this my new favorite version.

I am an absolutely dedicated fan of Tim Faust, but you really should check out some of Avi Kaplan's channel...he has the most mellow and rich bass sound I've ever heard in my 80 years. He is an amazing bass soloist. Did really enjoy this reaction.

Here's a version from the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou?", performed by George Clooney and his buddies, known in the film as The Soggy Bottom Boys. Geoff might have had this version partly in mind while arranging. George is primarily a straight dramatic actor. He says he is not a true guitar player, though he can strum some chords. You can tell in the video that he's holding down real chords, so he understands the basic mechanics of guitar playing. It was an old, beat up guitar that was severely out of tune for the video, but they were going more for the aesthetic anyway. 😁

I am not sure about this version of this song. I really kind of like the slower versions (more true to the blue grass genre). I have family roots in Arkansas and grew up hearing a lot of blue grass and country gospel. I was quite honestly impressed by the bridge though. I know it must be hard to make additions that sound like the fit in to the original.

The song itself is a traditional, exists in many versions. Hard to say what the Original really was.
Here's a version from the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou?", performed by George Clooney and his buddies, known in the film as The Soggy Bottom Boys. Geoff might have had this version partly in mind while arranging. George is primarily a straight dramatic actor. But as the nephew of Rosemary Clooney, he could be expected to have some pipes as well.

He says he is not a true guitar player, though he can strum some chords. You can tell in the video that he's holding down real chords, so he understands the basic mechanics of guitar playing.
It was an old, beat up guitar that was severely out of tune for the video, but they were going more for the aesthetic anyway. 😁

I am not sure about this version of this song. I really kind of like the slower versions (more true to the blue grass genre). I have family roots in Arkansas and grew up hearing a lot of blue grass and country gospel. I was quite honestly impressed by the bridge though. I know it must be hard to make additions that sound like the fit in to the original.
