Congratulations on your 6th CW POTA activation. CW is my preferred mode for POTA. I have 2 of those keys with the metal base and love them. Hope to hear you during the upcoming Support Your Parks weekend. You're doing great, keep it up. 73 de N6EF.
TNX for the video. I did my first CW activation this past Thursday and I was nervous. I am just returning to Ham Radio after many years away from the hobby. I love CW for how quiet the bands are. I also did a SSB activation on Friday and found it exciting to talk to many people the bleed over is crazy. I bought the ICOM 7300 for my home and an Xiegu G90 as a field radio. My max power is 20 watts out. I really like your Yaesu radio. I started a TH-cam channel to document my progress. I will have my first CW activation video coming out soon; all the best, and this video was a great learning tool for me; you were very settled and worked the pile up like a pro! 73s DE W3CT. Good Luck! (Subscribed!)
I think there was a SSB contest this past weekend which may be why you ran into so many others on the air. I find weekdays, especially during working hours (9-5) will be a lot slower so you are going to have an easier time finding a frequency. Hope to make a contact with you!
I appreciate seeing this video of yours, you have the same issues I do on some copy sometimes, it encourages me to keep going on my goal to continue to improve on CW. Thanks for posting this, real nice job. Daunting Pileup is right! 73 and Cheers Dale KK9D dit dit
The station at 31:00 was N6EMP. Other than that, good job! I'm an occasional CW operator. After a while my brain gets fried as well; don't worry about it. Hope to work you from Virginia some time. 73 de Steve KC4JGC.
Right you are, nothing beats actually getting on the air and doing CW! When I started I was a Novice class and had to be crystal controlled! I got on every day for 6 months like that until I upgraded! It was rough a first but I got better with each contact! Sometimes it just takes time to get heard. I called many a CQ with no answers. Keep it up you are doing good! 73 de N4DJ
Thanks for the encouragement! With the better weather and longer days approaching I hope to get out and activate more. But there's always hunting from home which is fun practice too!
This is a great video! Subscribed! I’m learning CW and made my first CW QSO in the last few weeks. For now just hunting POTAs but hope to activate a park here soon. How long have you been operating CW?
@@ve7ajk try to turn it on. It will normalize Rx signal so You will not experience balancing of incoming calls. Second feature is APF which could help to filter only the CW from noise. Next time check those options, maybe will be helpful 😃
Beautiful park and what a skill it is to know CW. Thank you for sharing.
your CW is sounding great Bill - keep up the good work! 73
