Best advice for travelling to dark sites for a night of imaging; bring a friend. I'm not even kidding. Dark, secluded locations are usually so eerie and quiet, plus you can't see a thing. The mind likes to play tricks on you and can sometimes take the focus away from why you are there in the first place. Having company really helps.
This is very true! Imaging alone in the middle of nowhere is very difficult and can be counterproductive too. At the spot where we could hear dogs around us, Dalia stayed in the car while I was trying to snap some quick photos and because of how stressful and pitch black it was I barely knew what I was doing and just tried my best to rush through it. Just having a buddy can really make everything much easier and relaxing!

Love seeing you guys enjoy this beautiful state!! I did almost the same drive in 2015 I took a week to do camped at 4 different areas. I can't wait to do it again. At meteor crater it was so windy my beard was actually flowing in the wind hahahahaha.

Went to valley of fire state park a couple years ago and it was way better Than I remembered it, Bryce Canyon would be really good with the Milky Way also
Hi, Antoine & Dahlia! I love this video!! Last visit I took to Berlin-Ichthyosaur was pitch black and I could hear the wildlife sounds surrounding me. I agree, a bit spooky not being able to see just a tad bit. Oh, what lens did you use with your camera in your Milky Way shots? Aloha, Ipo "Yvette"

I would love to have roadtrip like you had. But with two kids it is harder. One advice I can give you, do some research about composition, foreground, background and subject. I think you could do much better if you would have a lit subject in the foreground. There are many channels about photography and astrophotography and I have learned so much just by watching them... So then when I went out after lockdown it was a huge change
hey you guys! I was just wondering, completely off topic, do you guys feel safe when you're out in the desert all alone at night ? When Dalia did that vid all on her own very recently, my heart skipped a beat cos i thought she was going into the desert all alone at night!!?? I was relieved when i realised Antoine was with her! Surely you would need to take a firearm for protection ? I'm from England, and we see movies and true life stories of nefarious goings on out in the Nevada ( and other USA deserts! ) at night!?? Why is there a police car day and night on that road? I thought it was an accident (daytime) but you mentioned it being security when setting up the timelapse. Is that a common thing there? Sorry for being an ignorant Dutchy 😅
It's a security guard hired by the hotel to check people in during the night when the office is closed

What is Beautiful there , you literally lost your land to erosion , those Hills flat top hills , that is the once up on time surface its not a hill , and its all just gone , you are standing under the ground level , in hole that wind erosion made surrounded by dust and rock, and its beautiful :) Its a disaster , its Mars . If you wanted to fake Mars Landing you would record it there

Sure car camping on the road means minimalization but, Ravioli? I mean Canned Ravioli? Love you two, but..... YECH! Stay away from Spaghettios though!
That's all I (Antoine) can eat when it comes to canned foods lol. We didn't want to drive with meat and veggies to save space in the trunk
