My starter seems to go bad every year. Not sure why this is happening. I think during the colder months when the battery is low, its causing stress on the starter coils. Not sure. I Just bought a starter for $49 and is an easy fix. Just annoying.
Surprised your starter lasted so long? I’ve gone through two in a 150 hours. The bendix drive is literally glued to the motor. Comes loose, and the motor spins but won’t engage. Junk. My 25 year old tractor with a 21 hp Briggs & Stratton still has the original starter.
Thank you. Exactly what I needed. Time to order a new starter.
Great Video, quick way to test starter.
Short and concise
Old men rule💪🏽
The sad thing is I know it's the starter but I'd rather it be something else
Video of Actual Removal and Install was lost so this instruction video does not show actual unscrewing bolts.
Thanks for the Vid, Dan. I was hoping it was just the solenoid, but this confirmed my fears. Thanks, I guess. 😅 No, seriously, thanks.
Omg, I have to do this and i just got my nails done. Starter completely frozen. 😢
8 years is a long time for commercial use. Good mower.
I replaced one of these at the beginning of summer and it failed about three months (or less) later.

My starter went out, with only 2 yrs of use.😮

Maybe I was lucky with how long it lasted, but it was an easy fix.
