When I was younger, I always wanted to see one of the 15th anniversary dash 8s. Since I’m going to the iron range in a few weeks, I’m hoping I’ll be able to conquer that desire to see one. Great video!!
7258 has been tied to a slug at CN MacMillan Yard in Toronto and will likely remain there for the rest of it's service life. Also, interestingly, 2124 only has the 15th anniversary logo on one side. Nice video!
UPDATE: I went to the iron range about 2 weeks ago, and was able to catch CN 2112 (one of the 2 active 15th anniversary C40-8s) leading 8 different ore trains! Definitely awesome to conquer the desire I’ve had for almost 10 years.
2124 lost its French side of the 15th Anniversary logo and I remember catching it here on the West Coast just before the Dash-8 retirement began. Glad to see it's a training engine now.
Awesome video there! I've heard of these units before but now I know their full story, always enjoy your videos Kolton as I always learn something new so thank you! Have a great day and smooth runnings, sincerely- "T.N." or L&N Productions
I’ve seen 2107, 2112 and 2128. They are interesting locomotives/paint especially on C40-8s. I will someday hopefully see 2124 and 7258, if I can get to those places where they are
I live on a small branch line in Wisconsin and remember seeing one of them in 2012 or 2013. I think it was 2113 but I am not sure as I was 8 at the time.
potentially try looking for a webcam nearby, in my town I almost never saw interesting things, found a webcam that I have open at all times and I catch special equipment almost twice a month.

Good luck!!!! Don't get two gp38-2 high hoods caught behind the cargo like I did!
"You're on your way to a friends house"
Sorry you lost me there

Great to see another dedicated documentary!

1:13 When me Saw CN Bought BC Rail Makes me Upset Since BC Rail is my Favorite Railway:
That was me in 1999 when CN merged the Illinois Central Railroad out of existence.
I only got to see one of them before they were all retired. Great video Halton
I actually saw 2115, but at the time I didn’t know it was out of service

2 of these 15TH locos went down on A490 a few days ago
Great video about the 15th Anniversary Dash 8s

I live close a small line that sees CN that sees traffic on a daily basis and one day I was actually going to the doctor and caught a BCOL engine
2124 is probably the most interesting of the bunch, since it had a unique logo painted on the sides during its career on the CNW.
you should make a video on UP 1400 (the sdp35, not the GP40)
it apparently had a modified Thunderbolt 1003 mounted on it's cab roof

Just saw the 2124 a few months ago, and it no longer has the 15th anniversary logo.
You check both sides?
It’s missing only one side, seeing pictures at Homewood, the side with the logo is not easily see able
I've seen a couple of these units here in the Iron Range!
I live on a small branch line in Wisconsin and remember seeing one of them in 2012 or 2013. I think it was 2113 but I am not sure as I was 8 at the time.
On my line there’s two here and they are paired together in service.
Nice video! Keep up the great work!
I live right by rail trackage of CN and yet I only see GEvos while other people catch special interest units-_-
🤭😅😅😅

Gonna be honest, seeing engines I only ever see in UP/BNSF liveries in CN colors took a bit to get used to. Love from New Mexico!
Me: Ah, CN was made in 1918, alright
Also me: see's 15th anniversary units
Me: WTH?!
Thanks for clearing this up CUP.
I've seen the shells of some of these in Dansville NY
Any idea which one?
Nice video, I learned A Bit.
Engine 2112 was a missed opportunity
2:48: that poor baby! 😢
Hey man, what site do you use to create the thumbnail you use in the video.
Paint.net
Cant imagen what shape it would be in now if it was still govt owned
1:13 NO!!!!! *NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!*
What about 100th anniversary units
Those things suck.
They definitely had more effort put into them than the 100th anniversary units, that's not saying much of anything.
Hopefully at least one of the dash 8s will get preserved, it's great to know it has a chance of happening.
Catch CN’s Dash-8s while you still can, they will not be running for much longer.
Maybe the IRM will buy one and repaint it into CNW colors.
