0:37 battle of the sexes lol
Which comic is the first 2009 one from?
_Man dat gritty style from the Kingdom come series_
Alex Ross and Jim Aparo draws the best Batman.
I am Batman!!!
I'm here only to say that the 75th anniversary of SUPERMAN was freaking sick. I loved it but the comments were disabled so I couldn't say anything. this one was ok
Probably because people were asking were was Tom Welling...
Nick K. yeah thanks to zack snyder!
Agreed
I was hoping it would be more like Superman's 75th anniversary Montage. It was still good.
I'm more of a Batman fan anyway. Haha
Btw have you seen Assault on Arkham?
James Sanford no I haven't yet.
I to was hoping for his 75th to get something like we got with Superman I like what we did get but something like what superman got would have also been pleasing had it been to the two shorts.
Martin Sevcech I totally agreed.
Gets more and more epic as the years fly by
I love the change in tone of the Batman verse during the 70s.
This Video Is Lazily Made, The superman one was better
+Timely Studios I definitely agree. Thanks to Snyder.
I hope Snyder gets his inspiration for Superman's resurrection from his Superman 75th tribute. The part where he smashes the aircraft is perfectly cued with the theme. That could be Steppenwolf's face, instead.
Timely TV agreed
They forgot the Batman from The Killing Joke.
Timely TV No, it's just showing u the Batmen we have over the years
Batman is hands down the best superhero in comic book history
I think he's the coolest superhero in comic book history, superman is the best superhero in comic book history, and flash is my favourite, but I guess it's a matter of opinion really.
***** Batman does better at what? There are many characters with no superpowers that do unbelievable amounts of good, that''s not what makes batman special.
There are also lots of extremely powerful superheroes that do unbelievable amounts of good, but again that's not what makes superman the best.
What makes batman and superman so great are their characteristics, how they act and how they choose to use their powers better than others, super-powered or not.
Not it's not
thevarioty436 superman has either been a goody two shoes or portrayed as an arrogant d-bag (imo) and honestly I think he's too overpowered to be interesting. There's no real threat if you're holding back your true power in order not to kill the villains. Only Doomsday Darkseid and maybe Brainiac (just because of the complexity in his schemes) actually pose a threat to him in most cases
silverchicken20 I disagree, i say true power is showing restraint, true power is knowing how to use it, and for a character with such power, it takes a lot of character to to know how to use it, that's what i like about superman, his character is not afraid to be pure good, he represents good and he doesn't apologise for it when he's written well.
Also imo saying he's OP is a cop out reason to not like him, it doesn't make sense to say he's too overpowered to be interesting, he's had some of the most popular story arcs that started trends and inspired many over the years. anyway every team has an "op" character.
While most characters have two alter egos, superman has 3 Kal-el/clark kent/superman giving him more layers of complexity and more character to explore than most. There is so much too him that makes him so interesting.
I've always found both fascinating even though their methods and values feel so backwards to each other yet they are so alike. I've always found them to be the greatest duo to ever grace fiction.
I can't even express how much I love batman
Love how the music changed from Adam west's fun time to Nolan's tortured sad time.
(i use the movies as a famous obvious reference point since they are well known)
Batman was still light hearted in the 70’s and early 80’s
@@MetalMadness_00 FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY READS COMICS
“As I was researching his rich history, I became fascinated by the idea that every Batman story was in some way biographical - From the savage, young, pulp-flavored “weird figure of the dark” of his early years, through the smiling, parental figure of the 1940s and the proto-psychedelic crusader of the ‘50s, the superhero detective of the ‘60s, the hairy-chested globetrotting adventurer of the ‘70s, to the brutally physical vigilante of the ‘80s, and the snarling, paranoid soldier of the 90s.” - Grant Morrison
batman turned to adult content in the 70s
Actually that was the mid-80s. He went back to being serious in the decade you're talking about.
@@NukeA6 no it was 1971 Neil adams run on Batman that made him serious again. For some reason way too many people credit this to frank Miller or Tim burton.
@@Delta-ass Batman became serious again in the sixties. For a while, he returned back to the campiness because of the 66 show and then went back to being serious again in the end of the decade.
@@onyxt3589 I mean a decade worth of that which would solidify serious Batman
Batman is the best fictional character of all time
Nope
Matt Murdock whaaaat
Agreed 100%
Ever heard of the Doctor?
Agreed 0%
Notice how the music started to get darker as it was approaching the 1970s. That was the point when Batman started to get dark, before then his stories were lighthearted and campy (save for the early 1940s comics) and that is what Batman the brave and the bold was based on, so stop hating.
A character isn't a good character because of his profesion nor his secret identity, a character is defined as good if the way it is written captivates the reader and by how good its stories are, Batman isn't the most popular comic book superhero/hero/vigilante of the world because of his money or his costume but for how decades of his stories helped to break comics paradigms and thrill the audience like just a few could, from The Dark Knight Returns, going through Year One, A Death In The Family, The Killing Joke, Knightfall, The Long Halloween, Batman: Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison, Hush, Court and Night Of the Owls, passing through The Dark Knight's trilogy, which if some of these may not be the best stories they sure contained elements that marked a way many others would follow during the years.
Batman is unique to most other super heroes..He is a ordinary man who can do extraordinary things..He is the Alpha and the Omega..
Bro so many heroes are like that, don't believe the hype.
P.S. Bruce Wayne isn't normal.
Jovorne winter True that buddy..Of course Bruce Wayne isn't normal as are most super heros..What wack job dresses up like a Bat and jumps off roof tops ..Even if my parents got murdered I would honor there lives not avenge there deaths..two wrongs don't make a right..lol...But this is a world of make believe and fantasy..a world that I love and is a great escape..And at the end of the day I don't recall DC giving anniversary shout outs to any of the other superheros other then Superman..Actually without Superman there would be no others...All the other superheros have there devote followers.. DC and Marvel . but for me Batman is just my thing
Waynesbutler
I think he was referring to Bruce Wayne's mastery of 127 different martial arts, over-200 I.Q., technological advancements, study of ninjutsu, dozens of Master's and Doctor degrees, training with Ra's Al-Ghul, billions of dollars, etc... as a fellow Batfan, even I can admit that's not exactly the image of a "normal" superhero. Rorschach and Question are closer... then again, guess what character inspired theirs...
Waynesbutler
Did I mention he can press 1,000 lbs.?
***** As one Batfan to another I guess we can say that Bruce is a overachiever..The strange thing for me is I am not like most fans..I love Batman not because of a long history of storylines and achievements but just because of how he looks..It was the ears the cowl and the cape and also the dark nature of the character that hooked me....The fact that there is movies and comics and a vast endless cavern of storylines...some great some not so much..is just a bonus..Maybe to some I am not a true fan but I have spent the last few years of my life trying to show it on my channel..I could have been doing something else...always like to meet new fans of the Bat
0:37 yeah I know Neal Adams saved Batman and the music too
You may like, you may hate him but there is no denying that he has by far the best rogues gallery off all time.
The 75th Anniversary of Superman is far superior than this one. This just sucks
At least we have the Batman Beyond short. That one is real schway.
Batman got two shorts. I think that's better than a 75th Anniversary montage.
It's like they didn't try
He's a legend😢
It’s crazy how Jim Lee’s art style really defined the modern art style of comics
the 75 years video of superman version was better
Nicely done montage. Very much looking forward to Wonder Woman's Anniversary to complete the Trio.
They should have done like the Superman one. It feels cheap for the world's greatest detective to have just a few pages as his tribute...
My favorite DC hero!
Batman, I don't know what to say actually, All I can say is
.
HE IS THE GODDAMN BATMAN!
I love how the music changes with the new character iteration
I'm kinda dissapointed
I wanted a short like that of Superman's
My bet is that they'll do one like the Superman video for Batman as soon as we see the final Batman (the Batman of this new DC film universe) on the big screen...next year. Cuz the Superman anniversary vid ended with Henry Cavill's Superman + the Hans Zimmer soundtrack. So for them to show us a complete transformation of Superman, the movie and soundtrack of this new Batman has to come out. Then fingers crossed we'll get a Batman anniversary clip that we deserve ;)
DC won't make one like this for Superman. DC is obsessed with Batman, so Superman won't get anything.
John Chakkour you are right brother. . .
John Chakkour They already have.
JasonJacksonJames Maybe on the 100 years of Superman.
happy 75th Anniversary Batman!
Superman retrospective was much more creative. They phoned it in, guys.
awesome tribute to the greatest superhero of all time!!!! Batman rules!!!
0:48 hey! i've read that issue... they use to have it on shelf at my primary school!
I also wish Marvel will do the same thing to their characters with the same animated short as Superman
I think it's kinda clear that along the years Batman and the other mainstream superheroes have gotten darker and darker in comics. I'm not completely against that, but I think it's just time for a change...
i agree
I really want to see some happiness and fun back in the DC universe. It was always heading for darker paths though having the Golden, Silver, and Bronze age history in there helped maintain the balance of fun and dark.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold was pretty refreshing, if short-lived.
cwopre That and BTAS really did a great job making Batman refreshing.
The original Batman had a gun.
7.8 Too much dark -IGN
Harish Rabbani But did it "Blow you away"?
Too much bat
Batman is so iconic. Awesome
Now its 80 years
Happy 80 years Batman
🦇
1:09 there was my GOAT!!
BATMAN BEYOND!!!!!
I can't believe how much batman has grown on everyone
Every Batman drawn is epic on its own.
Great video of The Dark Knight on the perfect day, Happy Halloween DC!
1:10 whoo Batman Beyond
I think Bats deserves the same animation tribute treatment that Superman got. lD;
1:11 My Favorite Batman :)
1:06 1995 my fav. its the darker one
Batman started getting mysterious at 1970+
He is the Batman you may love him you may hate him but he IS THE BATMAN
It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me
Batman tune = EPICNESS COMBINED
Nowhere near as good as the Superman one. But still, 75 years...
Best Batman video ever
BATMAN!!
That was freaking awesome!
75 years of pain,
75 years of justice.
It's fun to go through and look at the birth year for from my friends and my parents and me.
Happy Birthday Batman!
love the music. from the kiddy and childish soundtrack with batman's smile to darker batman with serious face all night, like hans zimmer dark knight soundtrack.
75 years of awesome!
From cheesy to kid friendly from that to badass
Batman has been through a lot
0:53 Batman defeating Superman. I watched that in The Return of The Batman part II. That was legend!!!
Loved The Video Tiffany:) Plus Huge Batman Fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Batman's getting darker as the world gets darker!
I like how the music change as it gets closer to 2014
Giving batman a green lantern ring is to op
Tru......still badass as hell
Giving Batman a yellow ring is overkilling
giving batman a red ring would be even more op
there is only one hero that i love to the core and with whom i've been obsessed so much, Batman. he's so dark and complex character with tragic but so emotional and powerful origins that made a boy into a man who seeks vengeance to restore purpose to his life. person that sacrifices everything for the welfare of his city by putting his life on the line every day. that is his curse and why i love him so much isnt his suit, gadgets, the wealth or women, its his personality which is cold, strict, dark, brooding and angry man who only wants to see his parents one more time. one my favorite moments is when batman is on a gargoyle watching over gotham with his cape floating, that is so epic. my favorite batman was christian bale who i miss in this role so much but i hope ben affleck will do him justice he deserves.
*****
i couldnt agree more
Looks good for 75
Batman should be everyone's favorite superhero
We went from the superbly epic Superman anniversary video to this? That's like you watched a clip show ending for a TV show after watching the finale of The Avengers.
Love the Alex Ross one for 1996.
so, no animated short like superman? that would have been awesome
Yup,Batman Was My Fav Hero in Dc Comics
So batman is 75 years old.. damn he has good genes.
I'm getting a mermaid man and barnacle boy vibe from the first 30 seconds
It would be cool to get at least one more Bruce Timm short before the year is over. Maybe around christmas?
great video!
These aren’t even 75 different batman half of these are the same batman in different panels, we need more like the super man one, that was amazing
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BATMAN................
Young Justice Batman!!! Awesome
Respects to the Dark Knight for he is one of the few mortal heroes who represent mortalkind perfectly!
Batman the number one of all time
That was beautiful
He sure was working-out all those years.
Owlman was behind him in the last one!
Very cool video!
DC Entertainment
Wow! This was cool! All the Batmen that have ever been made! No wonder Bat-Mite chose this for Batman's custom in that episode of Batman: The Brave And The Bold, but my favorite would have to be 1:16, because that was his look in Justice League!
That's right! Thomas Wayne as Batman. Killing.
1966 through 1985 were the best years, IMHO.
It would be nice with information on what issues these pictures where from.
75 years of JUSTICE
Is there any reason why in the thumb nails batman goes from smiling to somewhat smiling to upset to angry to homicidal angry?
Character development
1993 batman is love....
Batman was one of the best thing ever happened to me. Looks like a good night to read some long haHalloween
How does superman get such an amazing piece of animation, and batman just...pictures and dates?
Superman's 75th was awesome, whoever did this one either didn't have the funding and resources or just phoned it in.
Disappointing. No prep? No funding? very Un-Batman.
Perfect Dark knight theme at Neal Adams's illustration
What's the name of the theme? Pls?
Batman is my favorite character in DC world
I had always wondered if they made a Batman 75 years equivalent video. Not even close to as good as the Superman one.
Come on! Best character ever and u give us this stuff?? U missed so many
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for showing how old I am DC.
