Looking back at the ripe old age of 72, a young Sidney Poitier, what a hunk he was and Judy Geeson and Lulu, and how we were all like that in the 60s? Not to mention the music. Still brings a tear to my eyes. What went wrong with the world. The march of time?
AND SIDENEPOIST ISIN HTIS MOVIE CALLED TO SIR WITH LOVE AND HE WAS A GREAT TEACHER IN A CLASS ROOM AND LULU SINGS A SONG CALLED TO SIR WITH LOVE AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE AND IT'S A GREAT MOVIE CALLED TO SIR AND HE WAS IN A CLASS ROOM IN ENGLAND AND HE TAUGHT YUNG BOYS and girls IN THIS CLASS ROOM AND AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE SIDNEY POINTER TAUT THESE YOUNG BOYS AND GIRLS HOW TO RESPECT EACH OTHER AND THE SINGER LULU SINGING A GREAT SONG CALLED TO SIR WITH LOVE AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE 😁
Life was simpler then. 1967 I was 4 I’m 61 now both parents sadly gone . Life before social media my old dad was right, life is fleeting he said that to me when I was 19 and whoosh I’m 61 lol. Youngsters are born into a faster paced society now I miss those hot summers of my youth 60’s 70’s and early 80’s I can vividly going on holidays to Butlins Ayr 1968 June with parents and young brother if I close my eyes I can hear the two fountains flow either side of the outdoor pool. Movies like this and an earlier classic This Happy Breed . Take me back to family times and Xmas’s of a bygone era
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES THAT I'VE EVER SEEN 😁 AND LULU SINGERS A GREAT SONG AND SHE SINGS A SONG CALLED TO SIR WITH LOVE AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE ON UTUBE AND SIDNEY POINTER WAS A GREAT ACTOR IN THIS MOVIE 😁
Haven't seen this in decades--was just thinking of it recently, and UP it pops!! Great movie! Unfortunately, the students have gotten much more immature, aggressive and violent since then--at least in the US....
Gosh! I remember high school, wasn't easy but 'To Sir with Love' i would dedicate to a great teacher/form teacher, Mr Irwin..Mangere College 'Seek the Heights' was our school motto..
I watched this film as a child never knowing I was drawn to it because some day, I would be an educator too. It's so good to watch this and other films about the classroom like Dangerous Minds, The Principal and The Freedom Writers. It reminds me of where I am coming from and why I started ❤.
I was born in 1957 and the youngest of 4 children. And my parents brought us all the drive-in movie theatre, and I saw this at 10 years old. And it had such an impact on me. I was raised on a rural farm in Washington, and this being set in England opened up a whole new world for me. 🌎 So I'm watching it again right now. 🤗
1957, also. North Carolina, small town back then. We went through a lot. The Kennedy's, I saw my mother and father cry. The movie Imitation of Life, was another one that brought a tear. I got Lost in Space, with Will Robinson. No Cursing on the Television or Radio.
I agree with all of you, ;1957 for me too. I have always loved to sing and this song is so special to me. Oh my how times have changed. This movie will always hold a place in my heart. I lost my husband at age 70, 3 months ago after a long battle with cancer. We were together 51 years. I am gutted, but he knew how much I loved to sing. We did it together. . Thank you for sharing..❤❤
This was totally a Sidney Poitier movie. So charismatic! A powerful performance ! it was incredible reliving the "mod" era again! Thanks very much for sharing such a memorable classic with us!
@@taitatenai Haha!!, Cinematography is a very interesting subject, indeed. To watch a movie when one is twenty is not the same when one is on the brink to be 60.
That great reminder of how things are both changing and yet they stay the same from generation to generation. But the message is how we choose to live our lives is what we will have to live with besides outside forces impacting upon us.
It's interesting to see that the character's family names fit their personalities,e.g.: Dare, Blanchard,Denham. The first takes chances when it comes to pick the man she fancies; Blanchard is related to the colour that symbolizes purity, scruples and Denham , a guy who was prone to fight has a family name which first syllabe is related to the place where hoodlums hide.Dare dares to take Mr.Thackeray away from Blanchard and the latter had changed her looks to look more attractive to...Thackeray?.

WhatsApp a wonderful movie and great actors too! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Don't forget Lilies of the Field (1963) and A Raisin in the Sun (1961).
That’s a good movie too
1967 was a good year to Sidney Poitier; three movies were his milestones:To Sir with Love, Guess who is coming to dinner, In the heat of the night.
Sidney Poitier was in a league of his own. You can watch his movies several times.
@@taitatenai
You are right. He was in a decisive moment of AfroAmerican history. That's why his movies helped a lot to the Civil Rights movement.

Good movie and great acting by Sidney Poitier

I also graduated then; I miss the innocents we had then; we where blessed being young then.
The 60’s related freedom to sex…unfortunately that isn’t true freedom….it was the setback & downfall of us all. Fortunately, we can learn & change
Judy Geeson reminds me here of Jane Asher. I wonder if Jane was offered the part and turned it down.
I read the book,it was so warm. I did not want to finish it, what with all those friends l had made.
Reminds me of stand by me in 88
