Such an enormous honor to to fly in this event, which pays tribute to "...so few who gave so much for so many!" Hats off to Jeff and the Social Flight Team for producing such excellent videos and to John and the TItan Team for getting us in the air. ~~Mustang II
I went to D-Day Conneaut 2019 in part to see and hear a T-51 flyby for the first time. The cockpit view is icing on the cake. Thanks for the ride Mustang2!
th-cam.com/video/dHNhhD9qbN0/w-d-xo.html /; DIA-D War Recreation in Santander beach, very interesting day with parachute jumps and landing, several videos of this day, very interesting your video and continue making more videos - if you could subscribe
i go to this event every year never gets old i have a cottage up there and we go to all the battles its so much fun anyone should go is like the 40s allover agian but your in france
@@SocialFlight thanks for that. It would be awesome if that happened though. It seems everyone does the 3/4 thing in both Stangs and Spitfires which are great for and all the but a 1/1 would give you so many power plant options it's not funny. Cheers
Question. Don't FAA regulations prohibit operating an aircraft below certain heights in populated areas or withing 500ft of people? Do events like this get special permission to have planes flying lower/closer to people, or am I misjudging the distances in the video? Just curious.
Good question. The event was an FAA sanctioned airshow with specific waivers for the flight paths and altitudes flown. In reality, they didn't fly directly over the crowds while low, it just looked that way with the angles.
Thank the shorts and dress sock arm crossers for the help taxing in. Anyways, most of us a long time ago were playing in the sand making airplane sounds and snapping the heads off plastic soldiers. Not many of us though have the resources to do it again as adults with the real thing.

I have relatives living around here.
At the Lancaster County Air Show in Pa we had a P-51 and a A-10 fly in formation at the beginning of the Air Show
Awesome. I see lots of them T-51 there.

Nothing sounds better that that V-8 Corvette engine. Jarring!!!!
...until you hear the Merlin!!!
The aircraft in this video either have Honda V6s, Suzuki V6s, or one of each. Edit: One may have had a BMW V12.
There's a company in Australia that makes a 12 cylinder LS engine. It would probably look and sound awesome on one of these.
Agreed. Titan offers a V12 BMW version also!

Way, WAY too heavy for this aircraft.
@@SocialFlight Oh wow, that would be great also.
That looked like a lot of fun, would be illegal here in New Zealand - we're not allowed below 500' :/ Would be nice to watch a no-music version.
Ya. the music is crap
Does anyone have a 1/1 scale kit?
Not that I’m aware of currently. At one point there was a company working on a carbon fiber 1:1 version, but their website seems unresponsive now.

@@SocialFlight I suspected as much.
Thanks for the reply.
