Hey John I just went to my first garage sale this weekend and they had two days so i went to both. On the second day I think i made my best score. I found an amazing condition lebron James Miami heat jersey and i got it for $1. I listed it and 10 minutes later i sold it for $30 plus shipping. Thanks to you i was able to do that. Thank you!
Hey John, great video...I’ve been selling on eBay for over 16 years and like you I had a Inkjet printer and for years I printed labels on plan white paper cut and taped them to my packages...I did try the peel and stick labels like you, but yes they were too expensive especially when the label doesn't print right...I got a Thermal Printer over year ago...OMG life is so much easier with this printer...I love it! 1st...the UPS 4x6 peel and stick labels are "FREE" Yes Free, rolls of 300 order as many as you need from UPS (I'm on my 4th free roll and every label printed correctly), 2nd the label prints in 3-5 seconds (big time saver) no more cutting and taping, 3rd I got a used Zebra 450 printer works great and cost around $120 one time cost, and again no charge for labels through UPS. Lastly "Shipping Like A Pro!" my package now look very Professional...no more cutting and tape for me...one more thing the Zebra printer takes up about 25% of the space of my old Inkjet printer, if you print more than 1 or 2 labels a day you need a thermal printer. As a seasoned eBay seller, I pick up a lot of good tips watch you and others, like Lindey, Lonnie and Pete, keep up the good work, and happy picking…Near Los Angeles, Ca.

Reselling or picking or junking is not why I watch CP. In these times we live in of backstabbing and the quick buck, low integiirty etc your channel provides me a window of what the American spirit, entrepreneurial integrity and citizenship should be. Love the channel and your family and the way you present it.
I know I've commented on multiple videos of yours about video games... Remember if it'll power on then 99.99% it will work. The Gameboy just slide a working game in and out of the system over and over. For N64, if it won't play a clean game, clean the console pins (alcohol on a thin cloth wrapped around a rewards card and sliding in and out of the system is what I use) and if that doesn't work, jumper/expansion packs can get dirty too and need to be cleaned. Just don't sell as non-working because honestly most issues can be fixed in 5 minutes or less.
These methods work. One of my friends back in the 90s was a record dealer who put an ad in the Pennysaver and went out on buys. He would pick out the valuable records from some old lady's collection, and pay her what they were really worth wholesale, even though she probably would have taken a dollar a record. He got a lot of referrals that way - the sellers would tell their friends about the nice young fellow who paid them a lot of money for just a handful of records.
I tried to cheap out and bought a used Dymo on eBay for $50. Didn't realize they came in so many sizes, mine was super small. So I resold it on eBay for around what I paid but by then my toner was running out and I was forced to buy another cartridge. Learned my lesson, gonna pony up for the right thermal printer. Reselling makes you cheap, LOL.
Just want to offer another POV on printing labels. Printing on paper, cutting and taping is how I work it. I'm not doing enough volume to justify a label printer and, being a nomad with very (VERY) limited storage, my sales goal isn't ever going to be selling hundreds of items a month. I'm just mentioning this because I think the purchase of some devices, supplies, etc. that we can find on a lot of TH-cam channels, it's really smart to think about your own volume and whether the additional investment is worth it.
Im glad im not the only one using the cardboard can holders as inventory “bins”.. awesome stuff being a smaller ebay seller and seeing someone of your caliber doing the same! Thanks for the content and knowledge!
I like my dymo 450 turbo because the labels are easy to stick on small packages, you dont have to resize like you would on a 4 × 6 but the downside is it only prints usps domestic but no FedEx or UPS
@Fatherkamp Picks I can!!! I waited and used money from ibotta and credit card rewards to buy it. I got it for free. I am so glad I bought it but I am kicking myself for waiting, not too hard tho lol
Absolutely buy the Dymo 4XL. But look for one used on facebook marketplace. I found one for $50. However, it's still worth it at $200 if you have to break down and buy one.
I just sold one of those ice blue n64s with an ice blue controller and donkey kong for $170 a couple weeks ago. I also JUST invested in a Dymo 4XL because cutting/taping labels and/or the label holders are terrible. has been amazing so far.
My dad bought a Nintendo 3ds xl for $2 and I posted it on eBay on an auction and so far it’s gotten all the way to $160!!! The auction ends on Thursday though I don’t think it’ll go up any more.
I like the office/storage combo. Does it have wifi? How does the printer work? What does it connect to I mean. Does the storage place mind that you work there? List too? And you are okay leaving your computers there? Thanks!
Hey John! Great video! I also used to print on an inkjet and cut/tape and it was a total pain and expensive! Best investment I could have made was an old Zebra printer for $70. Haven’t tried a Rollo or Dymo, but definitely an affordable option for those just starting out!
I made the switch to a thermal printer this year to. If someone is looking for one I would suggest looking on their local sites like FB Marketplace or Craigslist. Sometimes you can find them for around $100.
I really like my rollo label printer. Does not require special labels like Dymo, and claims it is faster. I found it cheaper on rollo.com than on ebay. It does require an external spool if using with rolled labels rather than fanfold.
I pick in Akron. Travel to Cleveland and Columbus all the time, specifically for used books. Might run into you in cincy soon! GO BROWNS! Love your channel man.
Nice score John, good to have a guy (still looking for mine), btw, was that a Cincinnati can cozy that you opened? Looked almost like a can would fit in it. Strange shape for a tumbler I thought. Looking forward to your next big score.
Hey, I have been trying to check your eBay store for the Diecast cars listing from your recent private pick. Unfortunately I am unable to see any products listed for sale.
With the label printer does it give a description of the order? I've been doing it the hard way but I like that it gives a description of the order on the paper. TIA guys!!!
I keep waiting to hear someone say how they do the postage when using a Dymo printer. I stopped using mine when I learned how to print out the label with the postage. I still have my Dymo and would go back to it if I did not have to go to the post office for postage.
I bought a SATO 4" x 6" thermal label printer for my reselling buisness for $100 and it works like a dream, wouldn't waste another $100 just to have the printer branded by Dymo.
i got a zebra printer used for $112.00 about??? around that! the process of setting up any printer is gonna be stressful if your like me and don't know anything about them. i got it from hippovariety on ebay and they have support you can call. i ended up having to call them and actually had to allow access to my laptop, a nice label came out and my printer was good to go after some seconds and i scanned my computer with my security software after to make sure nothing happened during that time. i also checked them out online and they don't have any incidents reported to the BBB so i feel ok about it and they are a legit business in kansas so theres that..... i am now waiting for my 2nd scale that i had to order to arrive before making my first listing and sale on ebay. i ordered one and i should have had it but the order was canceled and returned for what ever reason, possibly the seller didn't get the weight right? that would be ironic huh? lol....
I use a HP M15w laser printer. It just prints in black only and I like that I only buy toner for it maybe once a year for cheap on ebay. Also buy the sticky label paper on ebay for cheap. Im happy with it because I can print labels off my Iphone using bluetooth. Dont need a computer to use it or set it up. And I feel its affordable to maintain and use it . And also this laser printer only costed me $70 at Best Buy. And can use it to print other things not just labels. Can you print wirelessly off the thermo printer just with your smartphone?? I dont really have a computer because I dont need did not use it so I sold it away on ebay (mac mini).

My husband got me a dymo for Mother’s Day! Best present ever!!!! So glad I don’t have to cut and tape anymore. Lol
what I learned from your videos is that generosity and kindness pays huge dividends!
I was a thermal printer holdout for a looong time...but it’s by far the best business tool investment I’ve made.
