Enjoying your Videos, Thanks ! I'm in the process of rebuilding my '78 T140E , according to my manual, the holes on the exhaust tappets face outwards....I'm not familiar with the '68 model but surprised that they face inwards !?
Thanks for the great comment and catching a problem we would have had, holes do go outwards and luckily at this exact time of replying 12/17/2024 we haven't moved to installing the head yet, This means that the one who put it together before us did it wrong and we didn't double check it for correctness and I just marked them and bagged them assuming to be correct. Shouldn't assume things, But that's how it goes, and that's a problem on my part. I will make a follow up video showing we correct this thank you again,( Kevinhelms7156 )
@@kevinhelms7156 Thanks again I am going to fix / alter this video and insert a statement that we messed up mentioning the correct way and that we will fix it in a short follow up video
Great content guys..... Not in too too much of a hurry, take it easy 👍
I restored a 1950 Triumph Thunderbird first year 650. Thunder Blue was the color, won 1st place at Mid-Ohio show in 2001.
ive rebuilt a few 650's and have done it without a ring compessor- as the barrels are chamfered at the bottom making it easy to do without one

The oil holes on lifters need to face the outside on each , check your manual.
Nice job otherwise
