so what I think happens, is ruby's parents died (ruby may have killed them), and max was either taken away or died, now we skip 30 years to the future, ruby is now 37, as indicated by her wanted poster and her prison Id. She has had a child, who she named Max. Ruby, as a way to cope with her parents loss, age regresses, and pretends her son is her brother, and its just another Saturday home alone, but ruby can't stop killing, so this rubs off on Max, who gains these murderous tendencies, but while Max kills for fun, ruby does it as a way to avoid confronting the truth. Rubys parents are dead, the original Max is gone, and she is a killer. Rhubarb is her alter ego, who takes care of distractions, so ruby and Max can continue to live. Ruby is never shapeshifting, but its simply how she sees herself.
I think that’s just how she actually looks like, because y’now.. the pictures she shows up in. (‘Entity form’) and the normal one is how she looks like to us.
She can't even go to her friends Louise's anyway she literally killed her in the first episode 6:31 so weird she saying that also what is Max doing home by himself 10:15 Ruby killed the grandma and the parents and there's not any other family that we know of so I'm just wondering why the cops or whatever didn't figure out what to do with him & yeah I told you this was well edited
I think the creator mentioned that since it's a children's show that deals with children problems the parents wouldn't need to be introduced so they are alive in Canon just the creator never had a reason to show them but I heard they appeared in the later seasons and are only addressed by their surnames like Mr and Mrs rabbit
