- Welcome to the second day of the BuildWitt Roadshow, where we visited North American Coal's Red Hills Mine outside Starkville, Mississippi.
I LOVE visiting this mine-it's one of my favorites of all time. The iron is big, the work vital, and the reclamation absolutely beautiful.
The hardworking crews of North American Coal mine the valuable energy with a dragline, dozers, shovels, and trucks. After they haul the coal to the nearby power plant, reclamation begins.
In only a few years post-mining, they replant the reclaimed earth with native grasses and trees.
Power impacting hundreds of thousands of people and a beautiful landscape left behind... It doesn't get much better!

I work for Komatsu in Salt Lake City. You should ask Komatsu if you can tour their new modern manufacturing in facility in Milwaukee where they build the former P&H Shovels. Their now rebranded as Komatsu shovels.
And you also might think about large blasthole drills used in open pit mining.
Komatsu Milwaukee Employee checking in here: They are still P&H branded, no one here is ever gonna let that brand die! But I can 100% help facilitate a tour of both the Milwaukee P&H/Komatsu factorys, feel free to reach out!
I worked at P&H as Engineering consultant around 95 to 2002. Is my buddy Norm and Ricos still work there. I'm retired now and work at home. Say hello. 👍@@helloitsjason
@@helloitsjasonThat’s good. P&H machines were essential pieces in the fleet my grandfather had doing construction in the 70s. Not many of them left anymore, around here at least
Good to see those P&H Shovels still showing up for work.
i live were the under cargae is welded
I do apologize foreigner but the shop didn't follow my weld note on my drawings which reads WELD NOTE DEBURR ALL SHARP CORNERS. REMOVE ALL FOREIGN MATERIAL. MINIMUM PREHEAT TEMPERATURE AND WELDING MATERIAL PER P&H STANDARD MOP 5.10 AND 5.11 UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. (WELD FILLER MATERIAL ARE H UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED) @@nickenoch7793

Great editing, awesome content!! Keep it coming please. I live vicariously through these to escape my desk job.
I do so enjoy your videos. Thank you very much for the work you do. You are a very well versed in your topics of coverage, as well as a handsome young man.
Excited for this road trip series😁
All those machines. Man all you need is a diamond pic with fortune and efficiency and you’ll get enough coal to power the world from that vein
Love your videos, and your Eleven brand Aussie shirt 🦺
my go to now!!
You need to come to Canada, ontario! Once the greenstone gold/equinox gold mine is complete, it would be awesome to see you do a video on it!
Yall ought to come out to coal country Wyoming!! NARM, Black Thunder, South Antelope, just to name a few of the largest surface coal mines in the world
Wow your in my neck of the woods. North Mississippi I’m about 30 miles for stark
"...and they're doing cool stuff."
I think you meant to say that they're doing coal stuff.

Sorry, I couldn't resist this pun. 😁😁😁😁
I lived in Starkville for 19 years and knew the coal mine was in Ackerman, but never once saw the mine or any equipment coming in or out.

Not sure why these stupid memes in here and why the music.
cringe lignite, very low in energy content, high in water, degrades rapidly when exposed to air, highest amount of radiation in the air when burnt
may as well be out there mining peat
The cartoons are really lame
