I had a beagle named Casey. She was such a good girl. She lived until she was 17. She hated taking baths always tried to jump out. But even though she hated it I would say “Casey get in the tub.” And she’d jump in.
My dog is half Beagle (half Springer Spaniel).. She acts in a very similar way to Oliver. I grew up around Springers, but myself and my family have never owned Beagles before. They're hard work, but bring so much joy to your life
I had a male Cocker. If he wouldn't stop barking when visitors showed up at the front door...all I had to do is "Dusty...want to take a bath?". He immediately stopped barking and left the room.
Oliver was annoyed because it's not normal the way he's always washing him. HE'S A DOG and people are clueless how dorky they are for editing a comment patting themselves on the back because people like their comment 😂😂 Total dorks. That's something my 11yr old would do but I see adults doing it all the time now.
I love the head tilts also....I’m a teacher and over the years I have noticed that my Gifted students tilt their heads more than non gifted so I have theorized that head tilting is a sign of intelligence in all species

Oliver is adorable. I had a Be able years ago. He was my baby. His name was Barney. People always told me that Beagles were not indoor dogs. Barney was the perfect indoor dog. Every night before we went to sleep , he made his rounds to check the house , and made sure that it was safe to go to bed. Then he would get into his little bed by me. Aww! I miss my Barney. 💔

We are missing our beagle Jake, he was 12 years old. He knew when we were talking about him, we could call him pooch, Jake, Jakie, dog, or it got to the point that we would spell D-O-G and he would still know it was about him. Be careful spelling dinner out to often, he will start to understand, hahaha! Such beautiful, sweet and intelligent dogs. Oh, our Jake didn't like baths either, he wanted all the scents he collected to stay on him, since he was a scent hound. Baths reset him to zero. He would get the zoomies as well and also run his neck all over the carpet. Thank you for sharing your friend with us, it gives me comfort. End of novel.

You can train a beagle to stay in a yard,but it takes a while. Be sure they are on a leash. They are also loud barkers.
