UPDATE: It's a shame that Amazon lowered their commission rates on 4/14/2020 but it's not altering any of my strategies. Many TH-camr's are catching the trend by making videos about it saying things that encourage sharing (making the video go viral). I personally don't think it's a big deal for a few reasons, mainly because Amazon conversions are so high, and it's easy to swap out links to different affiliate programs win a few clicks. I hope that helps shed some rational advice on it from someone heavily involved :)
Hi Greg! I just recently made a TH-cam channel and just signed up for the Amazon affiliate program. For the “10 pieces of content on your website” do you have to make your own website (like using Wix like you suggested) or can your “TH-cam channel” be your website and you make 10 separate videos including affiliate links in your description box? Hope my question makes sense! Thank you!!!
ah bummer I was just wondering it was bad from hearing that a while ago but to hear they've done it again doesn't sound enough from the previous breakdowns I heard (it was a hearing in congress not a yt vid, where businesses that built on that system found they were in the hands of a semi monopoly)

Amazon Associates just dropped it's affiliate commissions by up to 80% on April 21, right in the middle of the pandemic. Good timing Amazon, just when your loyal affiliates who have worked hard to send you traffic need you most.
Agreed... I dont think they made a good judgement call just now. Their stock is up roughly 8% when the entire market is down about 18%. They are excelling as a company right now and by making this cut, it will be increasing their bottom line even further. The good news is that a lot of people are not happy with this so I dont imagine they will stay low for very long.

1- Does that include TH-cam videos or does it have to be a blog post/self-hosted website? Can it also include Facebook or Instagram posts?
2- Does it have to be 10 pieces of NEW content every 180 days?
Does Amazon reassess every 180 days or do they only look at your account the first 180 days to see how many sales you have? Great video btw! Thank you!

Hello Greg, I started affiliate marketing and online entrepreneurship two years back. But it didn't workout as expected. It's getting difficult to build something for my own, when each one around me is job minded person, including family members. I did traditional IT job before , but left it. Huge pressure comes in reality when you stay around job minded people who just think doing job is the establishment. But they never think or bother about creating their own source of income. All relatives do job and are so called established in society's eyes, except me who is still struggling to set up own business. How to handle the pressure ?
Thank you for sharing and for asking such a great question! I know this feeling and have seen it in others close to me as well. My best recommendation is to work really hard and wait until your results speak for themselves. I've seen a pattern of people being negative towards online business until you start making more than they do at their job (then all of a sudden the dynamic changes to them wanting to know what you are doing because they feel they are missing out). I hope that helps and keeps you encouraged!
