I Drove Mt Akina Everyday for 6 Months

- 6 month progression, good milestone for a video.
That's right just Mt Akina, everyday, like Takumi. I was expecting to hate it by now but the more I get better the more I love driving on it.
The car is Takumi's 1st stage 150 hp 86.
Not really going for a time just a clean run with some showy drifts. This run was 5:08:47. Starting out I was lucky for a 6:30. Massive improvement.
Still I'd like to rely less on my handbrake as Takumi doesn't use it hardly at all.
I'll work on my clutch kicks for the next one,

I always found that braking while slightly turning into the corner and downshifting gave me the initiation that I wanted.

Wow really clean drift bro, i like it! I have been driving on the Nordschleife for 1 year with the AE86 Tuned, without a steering wheel, only with a mouse and keyboard. I hope to one day have my first steering wheel. Excellent video!.

That brings back memories. I use to drive Trial Mountain with the Shuichi Shigeno AE86 on Gran Turismo 4 every day for hours during my high school years. Some of those videos still exist today on TH-cam. Back then the quality wheels were the DFP and maybe the G25?? I could only afford the DFP.
The kind of videos that get you doing shit. With all mistakes I can see (because I watched too many of these) this is already a mile ahead of what I can do, just looks sooo satisfying.

Solid results man. idk how much race exp you have in general but you've clearly got the hang of it. Try countering less, keep things tight. Skip the clutch kick and focus on your inertia, braking drifts only. What you really want is to be in slip, right at the edge of reasonable grip. Keep it up and challenge me one day.

In my opinion there are too big angles sometimes, especially at the exit of the corners. Please remember that Takumi was focused on being faster. Happy to see next akina as a speed drift.

By the way, try trail braking into the slides-you’ll be surprised how easily this car rotates and drifts without needing the handbrake. You don't even need a Scandinavian flick to get it sideways for most of the corners either.

I've done 10752.8 kilometres on this Trueno.
The best time I could achieve was 05:01.903 (I had to play with tyre settings, brake balance and suspension).
I remember when I saw this result for the first time, it was literally euphoric.
I hope we can go beyond 5 minutes. 🤞

What helped me the most was working more with weight transfer: when you're not fighting energy under braking and transferring that energy to a faster exit.
And, of course, more grip. (maybe a little slip angle, but it will turn out organically when you get the car weight working properly)

This is great driving, but you should try to learn how to take hairpins without e-brake since takumi didn't use it
