I got it too. Just cause it's cleaner. I used to use "magic flame" to prevent firescale, and then a tiny bit of handy flux to get that to flow with no problem. I am noticing that it might not work as well mixing the firescoff and the handyflux. Don't know, it just doesn't seem to get the solder to flow as good. I guess you got to get used to the "colors" on the metal when the temps start to get closer to the solders melting point. I had a sweat solder mess up, usually don't, and yes, it cost me the entire piece.
hi, please can someone help? I'm new to soldering. I decided to order the firescoff from cooksongold. For some reason after using this product my silver went matt/dull and I can't get rid of it. Any advice? where did I go wrong? Regards

Hello mismillielili, Can you email me at info@cooksongold.com, with the what you were trying to solder? What was the finish on the silver like before you soldered? How you used the Firescoff? and I can try and help you. Best wishes Kate

I don't think it's the firescoff. Metal goes dull after soldering you need to give it a brush with a wet soapy brass brush or some fine sand paper

That amount of spraying, it's not going to last long.
I wonder if dipping it would be better?
@@nonconformist111 Hi. I use a small brush to paint it on. Last a lot [longer.
