Nothing like free meltables, especially when you can make useable things out of them for personal use. I got some lead pipe from my brother when he used to remodel houses. Going to make a video out of it myself. Some will go in my stack, the rest will go for sinkers. Good video. I need to watch the rest of them and hopefully you make some more. I know starting a channel is slow going when you want to see it grow. It takes time and many videos. Mine has just started to build. You got to keep at it and find good content. This video had done great, 839 views at this time. Stay strong and don't give up. A good hobby does not have to be hard work. 👍
Make sure you wear gloves and a respirator when handling dirty lead it's the oxides that kill you and fumes but your unlikely to reach the boiling point to make any deadly fumes just make sure you dispose of slag safely it is the worst part to touch
Word of caution make sure you have good protective gear on. Always make sure that no water is present in with the lead that is being added after the first melt.
Yep...he didn't use enough flux either and didn't stir it enough. That lead needs to be completely clean to use for casting bullets. If you are just going to waste it and sell it for pennies on the dollar at the local scrapyard I guess what he did is alright.
Has anyone seen such a beautiful thing? Look at that lovely shimmering silverish molten metal. I think I'm going to cry!
Nicely done!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The air itself is dangerous.
Why? Lead melts if you leave it out in the sun. What do you think will happen. Its not copper or aluminum
@@Orgendorfer lead melts on the sun?
@@bitsofeverything8385 yeah not literally of course. But leads melting point is so low its not that big of a deal if you put "wet" pipes in the melt.
@@Orgendorfer steam explosion, water expands to 1600 times its size when it turns to gas.
Very interesting how the dirt and crap float on top of the lead and are skimmed off so easily. Still very nasty stuff.
It's definitely not a clean metal. It oxidizes so fast. Thanks for watching.
That lead was still really dirty! I'm really particular about that though. Otherwise, great video!

fine for fishing weights. got to melt it again anyway. looks like it was a bit hotter then needed
Nice pours , I’ve got a batch ready for melting
Nice melt bud 👍🏻
I hope you had a respirator when breaking apart those pipes. Lead dust is poisonous. Great video though!
CLUE: It was OP in the garage with the lead pipe
Would be nice if you coated the sinkers with tin.
Why wouldn't you pressure wash or scrub the lead first???
Wath dit you trow in it?
wax
You should read up on flux and fluxing. Not only for the lead but all the other metals you melt.
Good video.
how can i tell if a pipe is made of lead?
It will be way heavier than it looks, gray, and easy to bend. I picked this up from friends who are running new water lines for the government.
You may as well if melted it and poured it on the damn floor
Nothing like watching paint dry
For sure ,10min tooooooo long.
Bubuk putih itu apa bos??
Alright for your punishment you need to remelt that stuff and clean it up then cast some bullets
Cách hát của Phúc hiện đại, tinh tế và mang hơi hướng Kpop nhưng lại rất ấm áp, dịu dàng...1 ca khúc tuyệt vời
I break up old car batteries to cast bullets.
Pinch cutting the pipe without opening them up and maybe trapping AIR and worst of all WATER, not a good idea. Recipie for a bad day.
Your not going to get close to boiling point
Something about skimming the dirt off of molten lead that is so satisfying
