That 1010 with the light green laces..fire. You know, the 1010 was the VERY first shoe I bought from Bluetile. The dark grey/light grey ones - not friends and fam. And the protection was great. That green is absolutely beautiful. I did end up getting the 808 wheat colorway..the protection is just as good. I have a size 12 and I'll say it's got plenty of room in the toe but it IS a bit snug on top of the foot where the laces are. I guess I have to break it in more. I think it's the tongue attached to that elastic that companies like to add now to keep the tongue in place. NB is absolutely slaying EVERYTHING right now. I'll be returning again for Cyber Monday! Im a skater from the 90's and I was a huge es fan but I own both the 808's and the 1010 but in the all brown 808, and brown and black 1010 and honestly they are by far my favorite shoes. Im 41 now and I always rocked es Accels and the 808s actually took me away from es for now. Ive had the 808s for over a month and still look good. Im a street skater and Im really surprised they are still in great condition. Two thumbs up! Now I really want those green ones.
I love the 808 as far as looks but I like the 1010 better as far as fit. The 808s fit a little weird.. tried .5 up and I experienced a lot of heel slippage, but true to size they were little tight in the toe box. They take a while to break in as well for me.. they are both great shoes though!!

sure. I just think it's mostly aesthetic. I like the grip better. The 1010 is sick but never grabbed me like the 808 did visually. ya know how you feel when you love looking down at a shoe and how it makes it feel like its easier to skate even though it may not be? thats how I feel about the 808 and I never got that "dang look how cool my feet look" with the 1010 even though I do really like that shoe as well. it just feels more.... typical. 808 reminds my of a great evolution of 90s footwear. evvvvveryone I know like the 1010 better so it is a me thing.
While i don't mind most of NBs models, the 574 (court), 440 and the 288 have to be the best looking out of all of them. Especially the 288. Westgates 508 arent that bad depending on the color
We stopped ordering the 288 sport. Looks amazing but had a weak point in the design and was falling apart. The 440 is a tried and true model. Expect more from that shoe in the coming year.
Just got the 1010 yesterday in black. In my size 12. They broke in almost instantly. The 808 took a few session. No issues with having to adjust the laces to (tighter or looser) to get a proper fit. The toe box of the 1010 is longer and not “snubby” like the 808. Therefore my “flick” doesn’t need to be adjusted. The cushioning is top notch. The 808 are constructed like tanks so we’ll have to see how the 1010 holds up over time. So far the 1010 are less “fussy” than the 808. But I can see why NBnumeric is keeping both models. Ps. Reynolds is skating the 1010s right now with the “N” taken off. Supposedly we’ll hear something “official” from the NBnumeric and “The Boss” in 2023
@@DavidBluetile yeah dude. My current go-to skate shoes are a pair of Vans 106-Hi's and I can't skate big spots like drops, gaps and stairs. These shoes don't have an insole, and the insole I got for them are rendered useless every time I roll up to the aforementioned spot types. The only shop we had here in Windhoek, Namibia that stocked New Balances went out of business so I'm still on the look out for any New Balances I can come across.

Even marked down half off over the Black Friday weekend everyone picked over those brands and typically the only time those brands sell is when theyre on sale. Buying shoes on sale does nobody any favors other than the consumer. That said... if the brands only sell when theyre on sale they might not survive in the long run. Etnies we haven't carried in a while and dont have any demand for it that I can tell. So ive made videos about those brands and tried to encourage people to support them but they just dont seem to have support. Buying shoes on clearance isn't supporting a brand. im def open to suggestions. I have a soft spot in my heart for those brands but some of them are not evolving with the times and even the ones that are really aren't selling very well. So this is a big conversation. New balance makes great shoes. So does nike and Adidas. I can say the quality of some skate brands has gotten much worse.... which is why they only sell on clearance.
