For Western style, most of them vary from 170cm to 190cm, it will depende on the fighter's hight. Our Daneaxe man is 180cm tall and his Daneaxe is 170.
@@martinuslaevus4935 the evidence, as mentioned , are the tapestries that show they would be shoulder/chest length. As Viking Combat western style is a sport practice, there are some aspects that we need to adapt in order to make it competitive :)

Probably maximum length is from ground to the chest. If you have some time, look at Bayeux tapestry (full on wikipedia).

Bayeux tapestry will show chest-high axes, but you can also find smaller ones, around waist-high
