Anton is an animal. Most people struggle to even get through a course and he goes for the fly away, insane.
Actually he is the exact opposite ... because animals live by instinct ... and PAIN will make them NOT do something. During all the practice we get to see he is usually feeling pain, which is why animals would stop practicing ... while HUMANS go on and persevere until they "got it".

Pressure is so weird. I just started bouldering in Sept. and there's only a small gym in the city I'm in. The few people I met there challenge me to try boulders I would haven't otherwise tried and the pressure of them and others watching definitely pushes me to to do better.

@@AntonFomenko A FAR better movie would be a remake of "The Crimson Pirate", which starred Burt Lancaster as Captain Vallo. The reason why it would be appropriate is that Lancaster was a circus trapeze artist and clearly did all the stunts and flips and so on himself without the need for a stunt double. His first mate Oyo was his former partner from the circus ... and to top it all off it is HILARIOUSLY FUNNY which you could pull off as well.

Love when you tell us about competitions
From a "physics standpoint" it is obviously easier to grab a "hole" which is slightly up instead of at the bottom, because that way you already get the piece to rotate and slowly build up the load on your grip.
The attempt during the competition had Anton grabbing the hole which was sitting at the bottom of the rotation and it the full force of the "impact" was applied in one short moment which caused the grip to fail.

@@AntonFomenko Next trick: instead of a "backward flip" a "sideways rotation"? This probably requires having the hands in two holes at the starting wheel to get the ability to add the rotation ... but sideways is rather dangerous because we are less flexible that way, so dont do it if you dont feel it can work.

Hard to find something where they are comparable though.
Anton would crush Magnus in Ninja and Magnus would crush Anton in Climbing.
But I agree, it would be fun to see them together, maybe they try both sports together and do some general comparison like Finger strength, campus board etc.

@@finneh6145 They might be pretty comparable just in terms of pullup/muscleup strength and stamina (except maybe one-armers, Magnus probably wins there by a lot). And maybe on large-rung campusing where finger strength isn't the limiting factor.
@@Tan12 the most remarkable similarity is there ability to learn and develop new techniques and learn new stuff pretty quickly.

I have to ask, how are you dealing with COVID risk? There were some crowds in that gym, and theres a lot of breathing heavily in each other's faces. It would truly be sad to see such amazing athletes' lungs and abilities be damaged by the virus
