Yeah you're totally right, no one I knew thought anyone could beat Tyson, there was even wild talk of him being able to get to 100-0. Ive never been so sure about a fighters invincibility before or since Tyson was at his peak. I remember watching the Douglas fight, after about 4 rounds i was in total disbelief, I really couldn't believe what I was seeing, so much so that. I remember thinking 'If I go to bed now, when I wake up Tyson will have won'. Crazy how indestructible we thought he was.
The one time, 17 years old, that I didn't bother getting up for a Tyson fight. I'd had enough of being shattered all day, just to see Tyson demolish his opponents in a few minutes. I couldn't believe it in the morning. 🤦
I remember when my Father, who isn't a boxing fan or even a sports fan in general, but obviously knew about Tyson, saw the result he assumed that there had been a mistake. He persisted in that view for most of the day until it finally became clear that there was no error.
I was a young man of 17 when Buster KO Tyson we were all laughing at the match but I can tell you we where all deviated when lost I'll remember that the rest of my life.
Joe A question for debate for another video for you I’ve heard a couple of interviews with Usyk now That he has stated if he beats Fury again, he wants to drop 22lbs get back down to Cruiser and unify that Division a second time So Gilberto Ramirez and Jai It’s never been done before If he did it I’d have Usyk top 3 P4P of all time at any weight 300+ Amateur Fights completed Gold at Amateur Gold Olympics World Series Champion Undisputed Cruiserweight Champ Undisputed Heavyweight Champion And if he does it the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion again Undefeated 25-0 Won his first World title in his 9th Fight Question is If he is Top 3 of all time Who is above him and why Or should he be higher than 3
There are lots of factors here - the proliferation of titles, winning everything on the road, etc. I love Usyk but almost always resist the temptation to historically judge any fighter while they're still active. He's obviously a cast-iron hall of famer, but top three? That'd require a fair bit of mental gymnastics.
No rematch clause He fought Henry Tillman as a soft touch Tough Jamaican Alex Stewart Ruddock x 2 Then spent some time in the Nick First fight out was Peter McNeely As for Douglas Holyfield was mandatory Buster got made an offer he couldn’t refuse Ate lots and lots of food The rest is History
I predicted Rahman would beat Lennox Lewis in the first fight - also a huge upset! Regarding MT & BD: I didn’t make a prediction, I just watched expecting MT to finish him in the first round and the more it went on I thought…hey this Buster guy is pretty good, actually really good… actually PRETTY DAMN GOOD … actually this guy could have a chance…c’mon Buster! etc etc.
I was watching it ( on HBO i think ) and remember it vividly. I mean, it was a forgone conclusion - there was in my mind no possibility Tyson could lose. Ha! Fcuk thats a lifetime ago now 😂
I won money on both the Holyfield fights First one was big odds and collected a tidy sum after predicting late rounds I knew Tyson was beatable Wasn’t leading the life He was fond of Long Island Ice Teas Liked a bit of skirt And was dropped heavy in sparring by I think Greg Page Just didn’t think for a minute Buster Douglas the man to do it

Mistake!!! That's cognitive dissonance at its best 😂
i couldn't have predicted that buster douglas would knock out mike tyson since i wasn't even a fetus yet lol.

Ron Borges - the Boston globe, actually that may have been the 1st holyfield fight , my bad 😂
Very few picked Holyfield in that first fight too. Fewer remember that Evander was considered pretty much shot by that point.
Joe
A question for debate for another video for you
I’ve heard a couple of interviews with Usyk now
That he has stated if he beats Fury again, he wants to drop 22lbs get back down to Cruiser and unify that Division a second time
So Gilberto Ramirez and Jai
It’s never been done before
If he did it
I’d have Usyk top 3 P4P of all time at any weight
300+ Amateur Fights completed
Gold at Amateur
Gold Olympics
World Series Champion
Undisputed Cruiserweight Champ
Undisputed Heavyweight Champion
And if he does it the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion again
Undefeated 25-0
Won his first World title in his 9th Fight
Question is
If he is Top 3 of all time
Who is above him and why
Or should he be higher than 3
There are lots of factors here - the proliferation of titles, winning everything on the road, etc. I love Usyk but almost always resist the temptation to historically judge any fighter while they're still active. Joe was there ever a reason a rematch never happened between the two? I'd have thought it would be natural.
Don King.
No rematch clause
He fought Henry Tillman as a soft touch
Tough Jamaican Alex Stewart
Ruddock x 2
Then spent some time in the Nick
First fight out was Peter McNeely
As for Douglas
Holyfield was mandatory
Buster got made an offer he couldn’t refuse
Ate lots and lots of food
The rest is History
Fury v the mma guy would have been more shocking if fury never got the nod.

Same idiots who said Dubios didn't stand a chance against Mr Anthony Joshua
Your probably the same idiots that thought fury would beat usyk😂
