Quick tip for TTS: The 2 columns of buttons next to the rows of dice results are very useful for not having dice everywhere. The dark grey button with the red text is to delete rows of dice. A left click deletes just that row, a right click deletes that row and all rows with a lower result. Sor for instance, you rolled your 33 dice to wound the marines, where you'd wound on 4+, right clicking the Grey/red button next to the "3" row deletes all the dice that failed to wound. Similarly, the white buttons are for rerolling. Left click rerolls just that row, right click rerolls that row and everything with a lower result.
I think with the codex I may go back to 30 Spiders, 2 shooting and one combat mob with Lhykis. I wish the Lynx was coming over to the codex, keeping up with that hyper-aggeessive way I like to play.
Like the use of TTS to show different uses, would love more of this once the codex drops to show other strategies especially with highly mobile units such as swooping hawks and shroud runners
Great video! I hope the codex does something to help out some of the other Aspect Warriors and Pheonix Lords as well. Also, in Tabletop Sim, if your models ball up like that, you can just press one of the number keys to auto form them into something more manageable.
I get the feeling some epic heroes like Jain Zar, Karandras, and the Visarch are going to get a point drop just so they have a chance at getting played since Lhykis basically blows most of them out of the water in terms of close range combat.
i really dig this format using tabletop simulator to visualize everything, it's a lot easier to follow! super hype for the new aspects! i'm almost wondering if there will be multiple battleforce boxes like they did with imperial agents? they could be themed on different craftworlds? maybe that's wishful thinking haha
Tying up a bunch of infantry t1, with the charge. And Forcing them to fall back if they want to shoot me. While the flamers can still over watch, if they sequence wrong, is filthy.
Planning on picking up two boxes of the new sculpts plus that gorgeous Lhykis model. Really want to run the close combat Spider Exarch as it looks so cool. Will build the other as Spinneret rifle, I like to have all the options available. I have a feeling that Lhykis is going to be similar to Fuegan points wise, given her seeming ability to charge across most of the board 😮.
@@ProxyHammer1 I have a couple of squads of the metal ones so I will mix and match to get the squad (s) I want to run. Base adapters make it easy to get around the new/old base size issue. Definitely thinking I'll be running Lhykis aggressively with the new close combat Exarch.
A lot of this really comes down to cost. Warp spiders never had much interaction with the fate dice and detachment rerolls, so if anything they might become even more expensive now that we get Battle Focus. So a 250+ 10-man unit, and likely a 120+ Lhykis is a huge investment to alpha strike with like you show off here. I find it hard to imagine a scenario where doing something like this is worth its points. I guess the one pro to the many cons is that it likely will slow down the enemy's game plan a fair bit, but worth ~400 points?
Well honestly if you are able to kill at least half the units points worth, score an objective, and block your opponent from moving turn 1 I would def say it’s worth it just for pure denial and scoring purposes
I honestly don't care if Blendarch isn't optimal it's happening. I'm thinking MSU with Lhykis and blades as a scalpel unit hunting relatively soft targets, on top of the regular shooty units. I'm also an Ork player so if combat is an option it's happening. The point about "don't flicker jump at a redeemer" is yeah definitely don't do that, but if your opponent puts a redeemer in a sub optimal position because they're scared of warp spiders they're winning before the game starts. Cannot wait to take these into a regular opponent's new guard army and his 90 cadians.
Lhykis will probably have extra attacks via her Harlequin Kiss weapons, so on top of 4-6 attacks with her power weapon, she'll probably have another 4-6 weaker attacks, which might even have Devastating Wounds. Because of that, I have a feeling she's going to be 140-150pts (though initially put lower to incentivise getting her quickly) Other than that, I think it will be worth taking Lhykis with a full unit of 10, because overwatching with 13 torrent weapons is going to be incredulous efficiency for 1 CP. Of course, your opponent is going to see it coming so they can avoid it, but its going to be better area denial than Asurmen/Dire Avengers I also wonder what her other squad buff will be, beyond the improved Flickerjump. +1 to Wound instead of +1 to Hit seems to be the natural conclusion, but I also wonder if it'll be +1 to the number of attacks, making for a unit with a much more consistent number of attacks and that's also better in melee (doubly so for the Exarch, if the extra power blades are different weapons with Extra attacks, meaning he double dips this benefit)
@@ProxyHammer1hopefully she is it’ll allow me to manage what I buy easier, I’m also curious to see if Lhykis will still have the plus one to hit all phoenix lords have.
@@ProxyHammer1 Imo I think fuegan would make more sense as battle force main unit. Lhykis has no resin, metal, or finecast version so people have to get her. Fuegan has plenty of original copies and kitbashed versions floating around and might not have as big of a draw naturally.
I mean, people are gonna buy three units of them and load them up and then in three months game workshop is going to raise the prices to the point where it makes no sense to do it anymore.
Ya probably 🫤 blame capitalism 🤷♂️ Personally I think it’s outrageous but there is nothing anyone can do to stop it and still feed our plastic addiction
I've noticed you treat the ruins as walls for the purpose of blocking line of sight. but the rules state that you can see out of them. and the opponent can see into them. how come you playin' like that?
I love your analysis, but I think you are forgetting how absolutely busted GW like to make new releases, and these are the biggest new release for Eldar in memory. I wouldnt be surprised if everything you said comes true, and Warp Spiders also have some sort of decent melee attack too, just to make them over the top good
I play Eldar and Tyrannids. All my tabletop friends stopped playing vs my Eldar after 2 3 games against me and they all hated the WS with a passion. Now I am playing just nids against them since they dont want to face my Eldar. My nids still get the job done so I am good either way :)

Oh perfect! Tyvm for the tips I’ll do my best to implement them going forward!
I’m Currently painting a squad of metal warp spiders. Can’t wait to grab the revamped models and Lhykis for a mean brick!

I clicked for the thumbnail, I stayed for the great Eldar content.
