This was exactly the tutorial I needed to get it working. So many videos don’t mention what those screws are for!

@JDRichard Firstly, Many thanks for the set of videos posted regarding the Mappin and `webb Carriage Clock. Enjoyable to watch. Appreciating these videos were made some 2 years ago, I had the need to service the same Carriage Clock. I have never attempted any works on watches or clocks, before! The fine adjustment is a bit tricky to get right, as you correctly say. I hope I have now found the correct settings. The shaft adjustment screw accessed from the open rear door seemed to require removal and lubrication before the clock would run nicely. With regard to the age of the clock, my example was a retirement present awarded to my Father in Law some 50 years ago. It was new at the time of his retirement. Just how long these carriage clocks have been in production, I cannot say. However the clocks are individually numbered.

@@jeffreygarrett2668 usually if I can’t find any information on the Internet on how to do something, I’ll make a video after I figure it out. and, figuring it out usually means I have to read a boatload of books

I have one from my great grandfather how many turns of the key does it need to start working?
    Thanks

Should start working only after a few turns, unless there are problems. As well, can be wound until stiff and will run for 7 days

JD, How old would you say the clock is? The brass looks too new to be really old. Maybe the previous owner cleaned it somehow?
