    "Spoon's solo Spider sortie."
That song had been playing in my head all mission, and then, "there's the firestarter. Twisted firestarter." lol

If he fails or gets shot a lot, I could call it 'Spoon's Salty Spider Solo' too.
Yes, anytime I see a Firestarter, I hear the same thing!

7:18 That is why i usually go for money on missions of 2 skulls or less. Guaranteed payout so I can buy what I want.

I'm generally torn which way to go sometimes. As long as what I make is more than what I lose, then it was a successful mission I guess.

@@Chimpy13 yes, but the payout usually is more than the salvage is worth. Hence why i go for money. Heck, I once took that to the extreme during the campaign. To the point where I could field a marauder for the mission on Axylus to obtain the Argo. And by that point I also already had improved my tactics skill on that pilot enough to headshot the Quickdraw and bag that one as well in the process... Starting the campaign proper with two heavies out of the gate.

That's crazy! I almost feel sorry for your foe... almost.

@@Chimpy13 Well, it certainly ensures that they don't suffer for long. The sniper I am primarily using is actually a Marauder MAD-2R - that's SLDF for you. 1 Gauss rifle, with several tons of ammo, plus a full six (!) medium lasers. Because "Sneak up on me and get blasted, Son!" Oh, and an ER Small Laser. Why? Because it's funny to see your enemies melt before you if they try to get you up close.
The Hunchback in my lineup is also a funny little thing. Yes, AC20 is nice and all.. but I had a spare Gauss Rifle lying around - and now I have a 50-ton medium to dish out head-clipping shots at extreme ranges in addition to its pretty decent armor...
Ironically neither of those are the scariest thing I can throw onto the field. That would probably be either the King Crab with a quartet of snub-PPCs or the Annihilator with five UAC2s....

@@Chimpy13 As a general rule, go full cash on the super easy missions, which is anything less than two skulls. Go full salvage on just about everything else (unless you really need the cash).
Sometimes, easy missions will be nothing but vehicles, and the salvage will only be weapons and ammo.
Since you're playing with 3 parts salvage, you'll end up getting so many new Mechs so quickly that you'll earn way more money selling reassembled Mechs to the stores than you could if you just did missions for cash.
One mission type, "Target Acquisition," can get you about a million c-bills if you do it for full cash. If you use light mechs to reach the designated areas on the map within the time limit and then evac without fighting, then there won't be any salvage.

That was an easy first mission.
The second mission had a lot more action. Pity about Meerkat taking so much damage.
    Nice vid mate.

I should have moved him around a bit more, get him mobile, I probably gave up the high ground to that panther and it's PPC for too long too. It was packing a punch. Still, everyone survived!
      Cheers!

2:00 It is actually possible to get even mediums into the Initiative-5 bracket - or heavies like the marauder into initiative 4 etc.
It requires the second skill from the Tactics tree to do (which is part of Ranek's build) and one pilot in a Cyclops 10-Q or HQ on the field

    • @Chimpy13
      @Chimpy13  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Using such big mechs in earlier initiative phases is so useful. Looking forward to utilising that!

@@Chimpy13 which is why I made that part of my build. Having a sniper in a Marauder go in the same initiative round as mediums - or even lights is priceless to take big threats off the board with called shots.

Great vids man. Sorry I'm late to your channel but I got to ask, what's up with the nickname? It's Coolio just curious if that's ok. Take care and keep on Battletech! 😎🤘🍻

41:53 Is this in the base game? I have not seen anything like this.

Sorry I've missed a few comments here and there, this is a purely vanilla career run, perhaps there was an update but I find it unlikely since the development team has been disbanded as far as I know.
