    Yo should do a video on an “After the gym routine”. Like do you wash your hair every time? Do you wash your gym clothes right after or hang them to dry? What do you tend to eat? What’s a good meal to refuel with? Please!!

    This year I quit smoking Marijuana. I smoked for 5-8 consecutive years and decided to stop so I can be clear headed about my physical and mental health. So far so good!

      I made the choice to stop as well! Way to goo let’s get it!! :) almost one month down. I’ve never gone more than a month or two in 10 years

    Whitney I'm gonna keep it so real, when you and other fitness influencers said that they love going to the gym because y'all found workouts that worked for you, I thought it was a bunch of hooey. In my brain I was like "no one ACTUALLY loves going to the gym and exercising right?!?!" But let me tell you for the past few months I've been going to yoga classes 2-3 times a week and I LOVE it and I can't wait to go back. I also occasionally do strength training to help improve my yoga practice and I never thought I'd be excited to hit the weights. Sorry for such a long comment but I just wanna say thank you for helping me develop my healthy lifestyle because now it feels like I'm maintaining my health/physique without even trying! LOVE YOU WHIT!!!

      It's definitely not hooey! Gotta try EVERYTHING! If you haven't found something yet, keep looking!! there are sooooooooooo many ways to workout. so many different programs. at home, in gyms, classes ,studios.... shoot, get a dog maybe your soul mate workout is walking your dog! great comment :)

    I think that people who struggle to stay motivated should replace this word with 'Discipline'. Thats one of my 2019 goal, to have more discipline(not only on fitness, also school and other productive activities)
    Another goal is to stay consistent. I suck at that A LOT

    I would love to see a video where you had like a $50/$75 budget to go grocery shopping for your meals through out the week. Sometimes I find it hard to stay on track eating healthy when I'm on such a tight budget.

      It seems difficult but honestly, I started writing out my receipts into an excel spread sheet every week and sorting them into categories and found most of my money went towards snack or because I bought too much of the veggies etc. and they would go to waste! I find it easiest to choose recipes at the start of the week and only buy the exact (or as close to) the amount they call for. Kind of like hello fresh does :)

    I gave myself a word for 2019 & it’s “consistency”. More so for my nutrition & to stay on track & trust the process. However as far as workouts are concerned I need to do a different one every day or I get bored.

    Oh I so needed this! I have been going to the gym for 3 weeks straight 6 days a week. I have noticed weight gain and not resting enough. I needed this extra pep talk video! My New Years goal is workouts as self care. It has made all the difference.

      @@hollymaglione Elastane hates heat so make sure you wash in cold water and drip dry, don't machine dry. I turn mine inside out and put them in a knotted pillowcase to protect them in the washing machine. Or use gentle cycle on the machine!

      Rachael Eventually it will be, like all fad body types. If you look into past decades, there’s always a fad body type that women strive for. This, too, will pass and all the women who have had Sculptra done to their butts (🤔), implants, or whatever, will be out of “style.” I’m 45 and seen a lot of them come and go.

      Hi! I just wanted to share a quote I read the other day “fear is not real, only love is real”. I struggle with anxiety and depression (unemployed for more than a year) and that quote has help me calm a little bit whenever I feel I’m going into a dark place. Keep fighting girl 💜

    I love that your channel accommodates a range of experience. I started out using your dumbbell only videos when I wasn’t comfortable at the gym (just like you mentioned here) and now I use any and all the videos I can find.     Im 4 pounds away from loosing 50 pounds and its so hard to loose theese last few pounds to get to that 50 pounds down mark, but there’s a new gym opening near me tomorrow morning (and i just got a job there) 🎉and i’ve been going to the gym but staying to myself and just doing cardio because weights scare me, but girrlll i’m so excited because tomorrow’s the day at the new gym imma walk out there and have a great workout (while watching a couple of your insta videos of course )😂! you’re honestly so inspiring and because of you i haven’t drank soda the last week and i know it’s not long but i drank diet soda every day for sooo long. 💕💕 love you so so much 💞

      I lost the first 20 pounds pretty fast from just changing what i eat and drinking diet soda instead of regular soda. after loosing 20 pounds i hit a plateau for awhile so decided to try keto and so far i’ve lost almost 30 more pounds and i’ve loved it so far, thinking of doing keto for a year or until i can be near my goal weight !! thanks sm for asking 💞

    I love all your videos and they have really transformed my relationship with fitness and the gym! I love how detailed you are when you do voice over of your workout videos it really helps me! Especially when you talk about FORM! That would be a really cool video to do!! Examples of WRONG form not allowing you to feel the full potential of an exercise!! And someone who struggles with form (especially squatting) I would love to see a video on it!!

    Idk why but I’m really motivated, like before due to my eating disorders I would lose track because eating made me gained weight (eating normally in general and healthy foods) but it was because my metabolism was ruined but on November I said to myself “just eat, ignore the gain weight and be normal” and I started going to the gym and for a month nothing changed even though I was going to the gym but now my metabolism is normal and I’m starting to get fit like my legs are looking amazing!!! I can see the muscles and stuff, and I couldn’t be happier. I stopped obsessing over cardio and doing weights and I don’t regret it at all! It took three months to see some changes but it was worth it, don’t give up and you will get there!

    I have been working out a lot and just drinking water this year (so far). Now I just need to make healthier eating habits. I believe you when you say that eating healthy is the hardest part of living a healthy lifestyle. I did one of your arm workouts last night and OOOOOOH GIRL!!!! I was hurting and burning omg.     Hit the quads hard today. My motivation just hit me back as I've lowered my drinking and it's beautiful. I actually made a protein smoothie for the first time in 1+ year. I feel great and renewed and I have to thank your videos and Nikki's for that motivation. Thank you so much, xx

    *Yes, Yes, YES!* I ALWAYS get asked HOW do I stay motivated or HOW to be motivated and I say the same thing! I myself aren’t motivated 24/7 but it’s all about that *Discipline* 💪🏻 Don’t think about it, JUST go! Once you’re at the gym you will feel this sudden boost of energy and will feel AMAZING afterwards ❤️💪🏻 #JustDoIt

    I've tried keto a couple times and paired with beginner exercises, cardio and HIIT (especially HIIT) it reeeeally helps with fat loss. Your body when deprived of carbs starts using fat as fuel (this is oversimplified but you get the idea)
    Also: I love your channel Whitney, you are a breath of fresh air in the (female) fitness scene. You seem dedicated, hardworking and pretty transparent about the struggles of living a healthy lifestyle. Also hair and makeup always on point ♥️

      Britney absher yeah no kidding!! I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but it's times when I really need caffeine or I didn't get a chance to grab food that I find the most difficult. It's surprising just how much I've come to depend on Starbucks over the years .

    Please do more meal prep videos!! I just started school and I also have a job and I am finding it super SUPER hard to eat right. So on some nights I get off work at 9:00pm and I’m coming home trying to cook something for my husband and I and we aren’t eating until 10 pm.. I get very stressed trying to decide what to eat that is healthy for me and quick. Slow cooker meals needed!

    I love the question about newbie gym anxiety! You know what I bet us newbs would LOVE and is on topic for new year and new beginnings is just a simple gym tour. I have been doing home workouts for a long time but recently learned that I really need to turn to heavy weightlifting for the strength and physique I want. However... I am terrified to even go in the gym! How does it work? How do I choose one? What do I do when I get there? What about gym etiquette? Is a personal trainer worth it when starting out just to get correct form? HELP! 😊

    Hi whitney! I've been strength training for 3 months consistently. I've been doing the upper/lower split and I've been loving it and seeing results. Recently I've been reading though..that beginners should stick to full body workouts. But i find those to be boring or not as challenging. Who would you say is considered a beginner when it comes to strength training? Do you think that I should stick to full body workouts because I've only been working out for 3 months? What split did you start with?

      Not Whitney but I am a certified PT. Totally stick to what you're doing! Upper/lower split is perfectly fine. The only time I ever really recommend full body is with clients who dont have time to meet with me often, so we knock it all out at once.
      Personally is stated with upper/lower split and now I do Back and Biceps one day, then Legs and Assets, and end in Chest and Triceps split once or twice a week.

      I’ve been eating keto for 8 months and I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been! For me, eating carbs wasn’t sustainable because I felt so sick and tired all the time with them.

    One thing that actually has been keeping me excited to go to the gym, are your workouts from TH-cam and Instagram, every day I go through and watch a few videos and combined a couple different ideas, I did it abs yesterday and legs today, all moves that you have showed and I am so sore, I have stubborn muscles too and it takes a lot to get me sore💪🏻🏋🏼‍♀️
