That is the entrance hymn for my mass of thanksgiving on May 22! It was written in the year I was born and has been a part of my Catholic life leading up to my priesthood ordination, God willing on May 22, 2021! Great job Chris. Let’s keep each other in prayer.
Chris, we sang this hymn as our processional last night, 4:00 PM vigil, 28th Sunday Ordinary time, St Elizabeth Anne Seton, Whiting NJ. I practiced with it and also your TH-cam files of Psalm & Gospel Acclamation for 28th. They said I did ok. Thanks for that! Also, they issued me a "Respond and Acclaim" for LY 2023, so I'm getting ready for Advent soon. We all appreciate your postings; helps a lot.
I played this song this morning I remember my childhood friends in the church so nice😊 more songs Chris new subscriber to your channel it's nice to praise and worship God amen
That change in the first verse, from “Yahweh‘s people dance for joy,” to “Shout with gladness, dance for joy” is a really effective way of adhering to the Holy See’s request not to use the Tetragrammaton, out of respect for the Jewish tradition.
This is one of my favorite entrance hymns. I like the melody and how it invites everyone to sing and give praise. Thank you for sharing and uploading this. I also made a piano cover and piano tutorial of it in my channel. ❤︎
Such a thought starter, deep thoughts about life and challenges and the meaning of it all. Your singing your song is echoed in psalm 96 “1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. 4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 6 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary” Blessings… The Lord dwells in the high places. th-cam.com/video/1-_E7XEOY5M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KP0AbX8-iOQyBcRi

Lyrics
Sing a new song unto the Lord
let your song be sung from mountains high.
Sing a new song unto the Lord,
singing alleluia.
Yahweh's people dance for joy.
O come before the Lord.
And play for him on glad tambourines,
and let your trumpet sound.
Sing a new song unto the Lord
let your song be sung from mountains high.
Sing a new song unto the Lord,
singing alleluia.
Rise, O children, from your sleep
your Savior now has come.
He has turned your sorrow to joy,
and filled your soul with song.
Sing a new song unto the Lord
let your song be sung from mountains high.
Sing a new song unto the Lord,
singing alleluia.
Glad my soul for I have seen
the glory of the Lord.
The trumpet sounds the dead shall be raised.
I know my Savior lives.
Sing a new song unto the Lord
let your song be sung from mountains high.
Sing a new song unto the Lord,
singing alleluia.
