    A lot of people have been commenting on the white film and how it looks like it should've been peeled off on the heat press. It was only coming off because it was soaked through from all the wet bubbles and steam coming off of the machine. The only dry part of the white layer was firmly secured onto the heat press, I read the whole manual and watched the video tutorial before starting, the white layer is apart of the heat pad and it is not meant to be taken off. Hope that cleared some stuff up.

    Hello again, here's some random tidbits I've learned from my own sublimation issues.
    -You don't need to tape the butcher paper onto the mug, you can just slide a sheet in and then add the mug on top.
    -Red usually means not enough heat, and green means too much heat/burnt.
    -Check your sublimation paper packaging, it usually comes with heat settings that work better than the ones with the press.
    Hope this helps in any way!

    Hey! Great to see you growing! When you do mugs, slant it so the handle is against the front of your machine, then when it is done flip it, and press the other side closer to your machine so than the whole image gets pressed :)

      hey can you elaborate on this? Pressing more than the suggested time limit? and on what temperature?

    The eco tank was legitimately the best purchase I made for my small business. I’ve made around 1000 stickers since I’ve gotten it and I haven’t needed to replace the ink :o

    Oh bless you I have the Cricut heat press I find that good. Make sure you clean your mugs first with a roller it takes away any dust so that it’s not left on the mug when you press them. Hope your new one arrives quickly good luck x

    Sublimation ink usually lasts for awhile. Also mirror your images when printing. Make sure you have actual sublimation mugs. Happy making!! I've used 395-400 degrees fahrenheit at 60 secs for mugs. The smoke is from the gas sublimation creates.

    • @973kam
      @973kam 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@manndoodles373do you mean when you sublimate that the bottom of the mug is faded when pressing. If so, you may need to make your design smaller because it might not be reaching the heatihg element properly.

    So sorry this didn't work out. Have you considered getting the same brand machine as some of your favorite tutorials? Maybe this way you can follow their settings and recommendations. I believe in you though I know you'll get it! Hope September treats you better!

    when i 1st used my new mug press that smoked also so i assumed it was norm lol which it was.....200 cel for 180 seconds and i used the cup wrap to keep the paper nice and tight...i notice you set your cup to the edge of the press, put it in the middle, mine heats from the middle outward.....a home is not a home without a craft room :)

    Faulty machine? I would be devastated. Is it that hard for things to go as planed first try?
    Btw, I would love to see a video about how your closest people feel about your small business. Like your mom and boyfriend and closest friends. What do they think, are they supportive and such things. I think it would be a very interesting video. Of course if this is something you actually want to share. But I think this is a big concern for many people that want to try and create their small business. Lots of us actually don't even want to share in the begginng because of how akward it might me. Totebags are AWESOME. I especially love the mushroom one

    • @AbiNova
      @AbiNova  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have an Epson printer for stickers and prints, but that one uses cartridges and they're expensive and don't hold a lot of ink. While the quality is great it's costly so I would recommend it, I've learned the Eco tanks hold a lot more ink for around the same price and so far the quality is great! It even does double sided whereas my other Epson printer does not. I highly recommend the Epson eco tanks! I plan to get one that isn't for sublimation in the future, solely for stickers and prints!! I'm so impressed with it so far!

    Hi, look at ink experts maybe for a mug press, they are supposed to be a good company to deal with & have the different size elements for different shape mugs also

  • @amandabudgets7485
    @amandabudgets7485 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That white covering on the heating pad that bubbled might be a cover and may need to be removed, ask the company. (Like plastic on a phone).

  • @StolenCupcake
    @StolenCupcake 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    for the mug press, is the inner white part that looks like its bubbling/peeling supposed to be part of the press? Can't tell if its a protection plastic that was supposed to be removed before use or it was the damage it caused from the faulty press? Could you check the instructions before you use the new press?

    Randomly thought of this while watching, does the uk have car share services? Where I live there are cars you can rent for like an hour through an app. It’s like those rental electric scooters and bikes they have in big cities. The ones in my city are evo and modo, although they probably don’t have the same companies in the uk. Maybe you could use that for markets while you don’t have a car?

    Some Sub tips:
    Have you put in the right colour correction for your printer?
    Make sure you have really tight pressure with the mug in the press.
    Doublecheck your press. Does it preheat with the mug in it or not?
    Make sure you're printing on the right side of the paper
    Red means not enough heat/pressure
    Green means too much heat
    Make sure the temperature is the right one. Farenheight vs celsius
    Take the paper off as soon as it comes out of the press
    You don't have to use a lot of tape if your design isn't edge-to-edge. You just need to make sure the paper is tight to the mug
    You don't need to attach the butcher paper to the mug. It can be loose around the mug. It's there to stop the ink from getting onto your press.
    The best results are when there is next to no more ink on the paper after printing.
    The 'smoking' should calm down after you've used the press several times. If not, return it.

  • @mistry792
    @mistry792 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Definitely a faulty mug press. It looks like the heating element might not be right. Try xpres or subliblanks for a mug press. Smoke is normal with the gases given off when sublimating but with mugs it shouldn't really happen. It only really happens if you're pressing for too long and too hot ie not the right settings but again it could be the heating element. Please be careful as ive been electrocuted by those mug presses so only go woth those 2 reputable brands i mentioned. Good luck! Feel free to reach out if you need help or anything. Dina :)

    Is there a cover on the heat pads? It looks like the white portion comes off but that could just be it lifting from the heat but it sorta looks like when you get new devices and they have covers over them that you have to peel. 🥴

    • @AbiNova
      @AbiNova  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I read the manual and watched the tutorial and nothing said anything about peeling a layer off, the white portion was left on in the tutorial, tbe white portion was only coming off because it was soaked with water. The dry parts were still very securely stuck to the pad..
