    I use the shockwaves in a DIY home mechanic capacity and have no complaints. Love how easy they are to read

      what annoys me about them is it seems hard to grab a full set with all sizes. Their different kits are organized in a funny way right now so I ended up with a couple of the same sockets

      I’m new In the trade and majority of my tools consist of icon and tekton. They are definitely great tools have snap on and Mac tools as well but I notice no difference other then the higher tooth count on my snap on.

    I don't own the 3/8" Tightspot impact socket set you mentioned as one of the brands you wouldn't be reviewing. I do own the 1/2" drive 70 pc SAE/metric impact socket set by Tightspot. I picked it up for $133 back in May. It has done everything required of it and has been a surprisingly good value. Tightspot is actually made by Jaeger Tool, an American company. The set is made in China, but that is not unlike many other American brands today

    • @TonyTheTechnician

      Ya I don't have anything against them I have heard good things about them but its not a well known brand. And I was trying to stick to brands most all people would know. But ya I have heard they are great sets especially if you can get them on sale.

    been working on cars for ~26 yrs as a side hobby and own 6 cars and NEVER EVER EVER owned a set of impact sockets.
    Have done several motor swaps, several tire swaps ... all done with regular craftsman or Master Craft tools.
    Funny how my wife 26 yrs ago got me a 500 pc Master Craft tool set from Fingerhut for Christmas that i used to get into cars and start working on them. i STILL have 95% of those tools.

      I'm 64 years old and just bought my first impact wrench and socket set (Milwaukee M12/Neiko) for a suspension project on my car, and then I used it to replace my garage door opener with a wall-mount unit. I'm continuing to find uses for it - it's so much faster than using a ratchet (though I still do use the ratchet or a torque wrench to snug up the bolts) It's a real game changer!

      Very nice. Sounds like you got a really good deal with the sockets. That's awesome. And glad to hear you enjoy the Capri ratchet as well. I may pick up one of the ratchets eventually as well

    K wonder why milwaukee made their chrome sockets kinda square shape so they dont roll away but didnt with the impacts. I know the impacts were out first, but would be nice if they did that w the impacts as well

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Tony nice post, I have some sets that you mentioned, the gearwrench in particular I wish I had bought the LG set, in 3/8 but I've never seen it for sale so I bought the "tight spot" and you know what ? They work fine, I bought it mostly because of the case, it is the type of set tho that gives you 13 shallow 12 deep and 10 flex but it is the most complete 3/8 set I've seen for sale and it was some what cheep, I also bought the ABN auto body now LG half inch set for axle nuts

    • @TonyTheTechnician

    There are the cheap line impact socket brands sold on Amazon.and read the warranty good.Do not have a lifetime warranty on them,a limited day warranty on them.

    I have the Capri 3/8 impact socket set, also got the rail, they have exceeded my expectations and sold me on the brand. I've gotten numerous of their products since and am always happy with it, most recent being 1/4" impacts for my birthday. As always, I can never recommend Milwaukee hand tools. While their sockets are probably the best thing they offer, they're just expensive and mediocre quality.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely agree 100% on both Capri and milwaukee hand tools. While they are decent quality, 95% of the hand tools are over priced

    The Powerbuilt tray was nice until I saw that they skipped 20mm deep socket and stopped at 19mm on the regular sockets... Plus it starts at 3/8... A good 3/8" drive set will begin with a 1/4 or 5/16, NOT A 3/8!, thats what 1/2" Drives should be starting at!, And go up to a 24mm not a 19... The Capri goes up to 22, but you could fit a 23mm & 24mm addition to them being there are some blank pegs to still use. Capri and Tekton have to be the best here, with Sunex a close runner up, as Tektons 1/2" Drive 87 pc. Master Socket set and many other sets from them are VERY NICE!
    Capri, Tekton, Sunex for the win...
    Could we get a tool review on Casomans CS105 87 pc 3/8" Drive Master Socket Set, there 86 pc 1/4" Master Socket set CS313, or there 1/4" 55pc CS312/or 50pc CS057 (these 2 are the same just CS312 has extensions in the set),
    and lastly, both their CS219EU & CS038 1/2" Impact Axle Socket Sets
    ... Anbull Socket Sets too PLEASE!

    I love all these brands. I hear over and over again don’t spend any money on impacts, just buy Pittsburgh impacts as all
    Impacts last forever? Do I believe in this theory? I personally just love all these brands you showed and don’t care for Pitt brand although icon would be fine, I’d prefer all the brands u said ( plea, sunex, capri, GW, tekton etc

    Why is Milwaukee the most expensive. They get us on lots of their Battery power tools but that Doesn’t make their impacts better than all the companies u shared today. Obviously it’s everyone’s money to spend as they want. I have plenty m12 but when it comes to sockets I’d try Milwaukee if they are cheaper, not most expensive, especially impact. They said I’d happily use em

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely agreed. I feel the exact same way. I'm very happy with the milwaukee m12 line up but most the hand tools are overpriced. I would definitely try them out but not for what they are asking for them most of the time

    I bought the ¼" 80 piece 4mm-15mm impact , u joint/wobble-swivel sockets. SAE in there as well, adapters, 3 extensions, shallow and deep sockets. I just felt the bolts 🔩 that are the toughest to reach are usually 7mm , I would LOVE to see this TIGHTSPOT set torque tested. I can't find anything on TH-cam- lots of good reviews so I gave it a shot. Comes with a lifetime warranty card. Not certain how easy that would be, but I would very much like to know the range I can put on the swivel u joints in particular. It's $100, for 80 pieces. So the math seems good and the set looks good. If you know anyone who have taken these to failure please let me know! TIGHTSPOT ¼" . (The ⅜" set is 187$) I have all my impact sockets but I'd really like to know what's good for the u joints without spending $400, thanks
