Can you please type a description of your vehicle and mechanical specs: front locker? Rear locker? Electronic activated? Cable? Air lockers? Tires? Psi? If you type three sentences and copy and paste that Into your videos it would be very helpful. Thanks. I am trying to figure out how best to do basic overlanding. Although frankly I'm leaning toward a used manual five speed 4x4 ranger. Simple, cheap, torque is decent for the mileeage , and it drives on dirt roads, even if it rains. 😅

I have backpacked in the snow when I was 11 (1968) a friend and I backpacked from East Willows road in Alpine, Ca. all the way up to Green Valley Falls with an overnight stay at a primitive camp site about 8 miles from Green Valley Falls. It started snowing shortly before we made camp and snowed all night, it was very cold and no fires were allowed there plus worst of all we had tube tents LOL Kids ... We survived the night and hiked out to Green Valley Falls early the next morning, there was about 8 inches of snow everywhere hiking out and we get to the ranger station to make a phone call to be picked up and they start bugging us about permits for which we had none oops. It is actually one of my fondest memories from my childhood, two 11 year old boys off on our own for a couple days, these days my parents would probably be arrested for allowing such a thing but for us it was more a test of our manhood if you will.

when you are in a warm house at the computer and watch this video, you perfectly realize how cold it can be and how difficult it is in such conditions! On an expedition to Altai in Siberia, we once got into severe frosts when it was down to -25 and we lived in tents! Unforgettable experience!😂

That drone flyover was awesome! For some reason the thoughts that came to me were of our ancestors and the unimaginable hardships that they had to go through crossing through this kind of land during winter. I was just listening to the music almost meditating and envisioning them just trek across the landscape, set up camps, cut trees to survive, hunt to eat....it was a great experience for me, thankyou! Keep up the awesome content!

What happened to the diesel heater? I don't leave home without it. It's conveniently mounted on the roofrack and pumped into the truck cap. (2019 Tacoma) Got tested last year with a Dec trip to the Grand Canyon and performed perfectly 👌 . Congratulations to your growing family too...Good luck with the 3 on 1 game lol.

Should have used the rendered fat from the brisket as some butter replacement. You can also keep a little water in the mac since you didn't have milk.
Another epic video Kevin, thought you would have used the diesel heater. Our elevation here where I live top out at around 2,000 ft

Put some type of extrnsio below de light bars so the light doesnt touch the windshield nor the hood/bonet. To avoide glare. You will se much better.

I was searching on Craigs List for a car camper tent. I saw TONS of ads selling their rooftop tents. That tells you something
I like mixing in smoked meat in Kraft deluxe extra sharp cheddar Mac and cheese. Bonus no milk or butter required
Kevin, you sold us on the propane firepit a long time ago. We never go camping without ours. Instant heat, no wet wood, quickly extinguished-what could be better?

Drones have different modes like follow and circle and others. Just put it at the Altitude you want and it does the rest

21 4Runner built all the way out with 4.88 gears should I go up to 34s or save the money and stick with 33s
Been running 33's for years now. I don't like tons of rubbing so I'd stick with them unless you're ok with all the extra fitment.
At least you should stay three days camping, because It's too many sacrifices and time to make one day a camp.
Wouldn't mind a lot of days at camp but we generally like to move around see more of the land.

I found the overland propane campfire linked to your Amazon but the question is can you grill over it? I mean I'm sure I can put a pot of coffee on or cook in a can't start and skillet but what about steak or hamburgers.
Here's a video on that: th-cam.com/video/hTqu77AlOn0/w-d-xo.html I cover the idea of cooking over the flames in there. In short, not a good idea in bear country. The rocks will not burn up the grease. Might get a bit stinky in the summer time too.
Just curious, on solo runs like this. Have you encounter any wild animals?
TH-cam says 60FPS, but "looks" like 30...? Did you film in 30fps with a 60fps timeline maybe? 🤷

59.97fps on most shots. Drone ended up at 50fps 5.7k. But honestly the cold was messing with the camera so much there might be some dropped frames in there. TH-cam is notorious for over compression so the Patreon version on Vimeo is a better representation for sure. Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, TH-cam pretty much ruins every one of my shots that show motion, like in-vehicle driving footage. The compression really spoils the look. Beautiful fall leaves turn into blurry, orange and yellow polygons. Lol
