So now you have to go back into Erra’s older stuff. Skyline has to be done ASAP. It’s such a beautiful powerful song. Then if you wanna go into their older stuff, Dementia or Render The Void are the way to go. Erra has to be one of the best metalcore bands of all time

I think based on Drew's appeal of the sound of Tesseract, the closest thing for Erra would be the song Augment followed by Dementia from the album Augment. In their Augment album there is a short intro for Dementia called Augment. Reminds me a bit of how Calabi Yau flowed into Singularity but with Erra style of course. But Augment and everything before had a different screamer who was a bit more heavy I think.

Singer Jesse Cash was part of another band called Ghost Atlas, also absolutely insane. Only found out about Erra and Ghost Atlas a week ago but definitely my fav vocalist.
Ghost Atlas is Jesse solo project and its still going!!! Its the rockier and more melancolic side of Jesse and its awesome!!!

The intro riff reminds me of WWE wrestler Seth Rollin's theme! Which is a good thing. This is me first time hearing this band here. Vocally they remind me of the kind of stylings and shoutings going on in Periphery and some Killswitch Engage- the shouting parts. Its got the components that will defo appeal to the tech-djent crowd. Lots of dropzones that submerge you in sudden downfalls of downtuned riffs and crystal clean strings that gleam and shine. Not eggsactly my cupán tae to be listening to all the time, but hellyeah, if you especially go GaGa over miotal trom like this, then its good to see 'em get the coverage here.
Love it man. Erra is a whole mood. Should go back and check out Texas In July. JT the harsh vocalists old band.

Subscribed to your channel the moment I saw ERRA's reaction. If you love good music and still like it heavy, you must check out Erra's older material. You will find these two albums, Impulse and Augment, really distinct in their sound and heaviness. As a band they have come a long way, but their first 2 albums are the closest to my heart. And i would love to see your reaction on those two albums, because there is not a single bad or even average song in the first two albums and you will be in for a whole new level of eargasm. If you want to hear Jesse (clean vocalist and guitarist) do both at the same time to a high degree, check out Divisionary. It’s a softer song, but Jesse really shines in both of his roles.

I think House Of Glass would be a good track for you to do next as it has that proggy tool-esque vibe. Another track worth listening to would be Scorpion Hymn as it’s very meshuggah influenced

That song is just one hell of an experience.
In context of the album as a whole, every song is just right for me. Nothing too lacking and nothing overly done. Honestly it's one of the few albums I'll be happy listening through and through without any skips. Wholeheartedly agree with all the comments recommending to listen through its entirety. As far as I know, it's got a little bit of everything to satisfy the main groups of fans; those who are really into their melodic sound and the ones who consider the pre-Drift albums to be their favourite.

their choruses are more melodic powerhouses than poppy catchy sing a longs. that being said, totally check out more of this band!

Hadn't seen one of your videos in my recommendations for a few weeks until this one - I've noticed that youtube really tends to broadcast reactions to things that other people are reacting too around the same time.
Since a bunch of other 'metal' reaction channels have recently done Erra (and specifically Gungrave) it'll recommend it to all the people who watched other peoples videos. I feel like I can read your personality enough to know that you really don't want to be stuck always doing what 'Everyone else' is doing, but I think that's the way youtube is right now. I will say that I think if you picked a couple other songs that other chanells were doing you might find yourself liking a LOT of it - might be worth it to just sprinkle that influence in a few times a week to keep numbers up

As much as ERRA is still a great band they're not in their true form that they were in their Impulse and Augment albums.
Just not a fan of this type of clean vocals. Just too mainstream for me and I think there's auto tune in there too lol. The heavier guitar bits are good, more of that if they can please haha. A bit of a mixed bag for me.
There is zero auto tune. He hits every note live.
You should check out scorpion hymn then, almost no cleans, crazy heavy guitar riffs

@@sarcasm4371 by no means close to the worst metalcore I've ever heard and it's just not interesting enough to make my top list. It's a cool riff. I'm a guitarist too and I've been listening to metal since I was 12 when my guitar teacher introduced me. I dunno. Maybe not in the right mood when I watched Drew listen to it live on stream. The clean vocals don't do it for me either. A couple cool transitions but the whole track doesn't even really seem proggy to me? I'm raised on Opeth though so that's like real prog to me. I'm sure I have bands I love that aren't that technical that you'd hate too. So its all good. It is very clear you like this band lol. You are allowed to enjoy them bro!
@@sarcasm4371 3 months late but I stumbled on this randomly again. For what it's worth I found their guitarist one night on TH-cam and I appreciate them a lot more with his instrumentals. Also they popped up on some Spotify radio and every time I heard it I did a double take at the song cause I enjoyed it. Happy? 🤣Sometimes you just ain't in a mood for a certain band or vibe
