Many people thought this song was for the haters, but its actually not. Its mostly about the world and society. The lyrics point to the idea that anger and frustration are necessary parts of life sometimes, but there's a point where it becomes destructive more than anything. Meaningless hate on the internet is idiotic & should be stopped because, while it only takes a second to write, it can cause damage to another person that could stay with them their entire life.
I think they're talking about how anger truly can be used to make change, but the way people use their anger now is a waste. It's just used to hate on people, bully people online and ruin people's lives. They've definitely dealt with that stuff as do a lot of celebrities.
Yep, also happens around the world, but in Korea with celebrities that drives them to... well having beautiful people like Sulli do what they do. Bc of online haters ¬¬
@@loredell Such beautiful and sweet people ended up leaving us because of this hurtful anger. Instead of using anger for something meaningful they use it to hurt people eventually killing them.
I think they were talking about how anger is helpful and needed at times, especially at crucial moments when anger is really needed (e.g protests). But these days, because of social media as well, we are very much into cancel culture that the real anger sometimes gets wasted because of that. People get easily angry at the slightest thing or some things that aren't really that of a big deal, but when the real anger is needed, people isn't angry enough or the real definition of anger is wasted. In J-hope's part, he was talking about how anger affects people in different ways. The last part he said that if that anger destroys/takes someone's life away then they don't like it. There has been many instances, esp in the Korean industry where because of people's hatred some celebrities have taken their own lives. And they are also mocking those people who keeps saying that celebrities or people such as BTS should swallow all the anger that is thrown at them just because they earn a lot or they are celebrities. It's as if these people are telling them that they shouldn't complain about it because they are in a position where they earn a lot and are comfortable with their lives. They always forget that people like BTS are humans first before anything else. That even though they are superstars, they still feel all the emotions as normal people do. It would be better if you could react to DKDKTV's explanation of the song since it goes in depth with the Korean context as well being explained. You can either react to it privately or you can also share it with us, it's up to you, no pressure. I just want you to see it because it will actually blow your mind. Anyway, always waiting for your videos! :) Keep up the good work and thank you for working hard 😊
It’s actually more about cancel culture like you thought Noah. They’re talking abt all the useless hate online from keyboard warriors that hurt people and can even drive them to hate or hurt themselves. Meanwhile, when issues require true anger to make meaningful change, that “anger” dies out.
You should look at the “explain video of “UGH””. DKDK tv is a Korean TH-camr, he explains the things we miss because it relates to Korean culture. He’s really good, and makes this song so much better to understand and it’s you differently.
I just wanted to say please don’t feel to pressured to watch a lot or feel stressed out because you are trying to watch everything that is recommended. I really enjoy the quality and effort you put into your videos so don’t overwork yourselves trying to keep up with the constant requests. Army and me included can’t help but get excited to introduce BTS content to reactors, which can become overwhelming. Basically what I am saying is that I along with many other army appreciate your videos and want you to enjoy the content of not just BTS but other musicians at your own pace, and not lose interest because of pressure from fans.
ugh is about how anger is not necessarily a bad thing - it can be the catalyst to start meaningful change, such as protests, human rights, etc. but they are told to cease (aka the fury that had to be extinguished) . yet the anger towards trivial and petty things (aka the fury full of malice) continues to be encouraged and placed in the forefront over the "good anger" and that is, in fact, the bad thing
well, it didn't exactly HELP keep them together but the song talks about the time they were contemplating disbanding. it just contains their emotions of that time
not really related but there’s an overwhelming amount of recommendations in the comments here and you don’t have to react to all of them bc you guys aren’t a bts reaction channel so don’t feel too pressured to cater to everyone’s requests. what i see with a lot of channels is that they attract a lot of new fans with a reaction video and they overwhelm them with recommendations and requests even though that’s not what they want their channel to be. idk just put out any content you want and i’ll always enjoy it
You should react to "Ugh! Explained by a Korean" by dkdktv. They are koreans and they explain it, lol☺️. There's a lot of cultural things I didn't get prior to watching that video.
So basically they talk about how angry they are on the anger full of malice. Anger can changes the world but sometimes people get angry in a simple reasons, that's why people forget the importance of anger because people often use anger in nonsense things. This song was really good.
Whenever it's BTS reaction,The depth to the interpretation of their lyrics is always so fun. Another thing is whenever they talk about their Music, the interaction level among Armys in the comment section is always astonishing. For starters, they aren't kids. That I can tell.
You should watch the explanation video. It’s hard to understand all of the meaning behind their lyrics if you are not Korean or if you don’t understand their culture and language. A Korean guy posted a video on TH-cam of him explaining this song , you guys should react to it. I really like your reactions!
You guys should check out their vocal lines too! I recommend “The Truth Untold” live performance! They also just released their new MV Film Out please react to that!
Thanks for the react! UGH is an amazing rapline song and talk about how anger is an issue if used just to offend and hate people and not to bring change to the society. You could react to their lives performances too, after the lyrics vids. It can brings a different perspective about bts works! Love you guys, cheers from Brazil.
Thank you for your BTS reactions, I really like how you analyze the lyrics. You got the message, and you can apply the message to many different fields. You guys are very smart 👏
I’ve said this ad nauseum but I’ll say it again- NO ONE can touch the rap line! Please show me anyone who can match them! Don’t worry... I’ll wait... 😊
I am always intrigued by you guys' interpretations. This is no exception. It may not be the most common interpretation, but yours makes a lot of sense too. Much love 💜
I love how deep you guys go in on the analysis of the songs cause like BTS puts deeper meaning in everything. You guys should watch Interlude: Shadow, suga gets deep.
You guys are on the right track in terms of the meaning! Check out DKDKTV's explanation video of UGH, they explain Korean songs and not only the meanings but korean references we international fans would have missed. We'd love to see a reaction the explanation video of this song!
I love your translation of this song!!!! It also speaks about how everyone is just angry at everything, especially in the internet, that when anger is actually needed to create a movement, or to drive change, everybody is already disensitized to the fury that the movement died down.
Yays! Been waiting for you to experience this song. It’s so good. It’s my drive to work, get pumped for the day song. I was a little surprised no one commented on the beat! I haven’t watched any deep dive explanation vids about this but had seen somewhere that it is actually Uke...the sound someone makes when puking. And then! to make the word Ahem, a clearing of the throat, Ahem, an entire line......Savage.
anger can become people reason to change to become better and bigger but many people choose use their anger to destroy others or hurt someone they hate with no reason . this song is about our society now which become normal to hurt , bully and prejudice others with no reason, like looking something to become their life scapegoat to be blame for their failure.
Wow, you guys did a really good job deciphering this! I'm sure I won't be able to tell you guys anything the other comments probably have already said. So I'll just leave it at that. Thanks for the video!
I loved the reaction and even more the way the guy on the right interpreted it, RM always talks about how he loves to see how different ways people interpret their music, this song has a very strong message about a big social problem these days, it would be really cool if you could react to the explanation of the song. You nice! Keep going❣🙏
Loved this, thank you guys!! You guys basically got the message, but you should check out DKDKTV’s explanation video of “Ugh!”, they touch on things you might miss if you don’t know Korean or their culture.

thanks for another great reaction :) loved Noah's light bulb moment in the middle there lol, hearing your guys' thought process figuring out the lyrics is always cool. if you wanted something apart from BTS to try it'd be cool to see y'all react to "Ah Yeah" by EXID. the MV was in response to one of their dance moves (a hip thrust) being censored from Korean television even though a bunch of male kpop artists get away with it. and apparently "ah yeah" is also similar sounding to a phrase that Korean women use to politely try to reject men in the workplace or other uncomfortable settings. EXID is so iconic but weirdly underrated at the same time, would love to see what you guys think of them! some of my fave MVs from them so far are "I love you" & "Lady"
This is one of the BTS songs you have to watch the DKDKTV explanation video. It is almost always worth it for the rap line songs because of the Korean cultural references and Korean wordplay.
Great reaction, as always. I hope that you can react to BTS MVs such as MIC DROP, FAKE LOVE, IDOL, BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, BLACK SWAN, FIRE, DOPE and etc.
i feel like ugh is an angry song which is angry about people being angry. but i hadn’t thought about the diss track/shit talk rap culture of the moment but i think that’s super valid
It's deeper than dissing other rapper or someone thoughts.. explanation by DKDKTV is a must.. So basically they talked about this pure emotion called anger which is being used in some ridiculous reasons instead of change the world or make better change.. they use anger for malicious way, till anger itself became bias..
I think the chorus where they go "i get furious at the fury that has malice" talks more about how they dislike it when anger, which is a necessary part of life, becomes more destructive than constructive (which is also what jhope talks about in his verse) and then the next line they go "i get furious at the fury that had to be extinguished" is a continuation of yoongi and rm's verse where they talk about how anger and fury is necessary and can bring about major change in this otherwise messed up world BUT they hate it when THAT necessary anger/fury is forcefully snubbed or extinguished which can be seen in a lot of real time situations (govt suppressing protests for social issues via mainstream media censorship or police intervention alike etc) so i think this song could be interpreted more deeply and widely as well
If you can, then react to Outro:Tear by BTS. This song was apparently written at the time when they were thinking about disbanding, so all the lyrics that you will hear/read are build up frustration. In Break The Silence episode, Suga said he wrote 'Outro: Tear' from 'Love Yourself: Tear' album, that released in 2018 while thinking about the members.
this song mostly talks about people misusing their anger. always angry at the most trivial things that could be used for much better things. “i get angry at anger full of malice” people going at others with bad intentions not even caring about the real issue. the translations aren’t that great i would recommend watching lyric videos from the channels bbts9717/aftaehyung because they use much better translations from trusted sources. there’s also an explanation video by dkdktv you can check that out it’s a lot more in depth.
Yess I was waiting for you guys to react to UGH! It seems like you guys enjoy k-rap a lot. If you can check out H1GHR MUSIC specifically their Red Tape and Blue Tape albums that would be amazing! I totally recommend you guys take a listen. And thanks for finally reacting to UGH!
Omg! You guys are back finally !! You guys need to react to the new Bts song ! It’s a Japanese one it dropped a few days ago it’s called Film Out for a Japanese movie Signal . Please react to it if you have time ~~
in this song bts are talking about how mush they are angry about anger that hurts other people insted of using that anger to make the world a better place.. i hope you guys get the point ! 💜😊
The great thing about BTS lyrics is that while it has a main meaning or motivation for the song, it can still have multiple meanings that make us think, feel, and motivate us make changes. Love your reactions and thoughtful comments 🤗💜💜💜
Your guys are 95 percent correct, most don’t get it. The full intention and message isn’t just the rappers, it’s everyone that’s doing exactly what you said. Not just a certain kind of person or genre of music. It’s a message for everyone that acts this way.
Many people thought this song was for the haters, but its actually not. Its mostly about the world and society. i love your reaction to this!
They performed this last Oct during their online concert and it's 🔥🔥🔥!!!
Your guys are 95 percent correct, most don’t get it. The full intention and message isn’t just the rappers, it’s everyone that’s doing exactly what you said. Not just a certain kind of person or genre of music. It’s a message for everyone that acts this way.
I’m always waiting for your reactions because they’re so dynamic and interesting 😭💯👌🏻
