How he went this entire playthrough without using Magic Glintblade is beyond my comprehension. Its so fun and funny to use, when you cast it it makes everyone just start rolling because of how the ai tracks casting/projectiles.
Definitely not as easy to use spells as people think, especially if you're building an int heavy character (int 80). You're generally a glass cannon and need to be on point with timing and dodging. Most spells take time to cast leaving you vulnerable af. I had a much harder time with my int/arcane playthrough then my strength/endurance/faith playthrough.
A good alternative int build I did was just using the carian spells (well mostly), like carian slicer, adula's greatsword, carian piercer etc. Heavily melee focused and fun as hell while still being a pure int build
