It’s so upsetting that the women’s wrestlers weren’t treated as fairly as the men’s wrestlers. Within saying that I loved seeing the butterfly belt on tv growing up, holds some nostalgia for me
The World and Universal belts were unified into the current Undisputed belt when Roman Reigns held both, BEFORE Cody beat Roman for the title earlier this year. The biggest issue I had with the World and Universal "Big Logo" belts was all the negative space on the center plate that exposed the leather strap underneath. It just made the titles look cheap and less prestigious. At least the Undisputed belt filled in that negative space with a bottom layer of nugget textured gold plating, so it looks considerably better. But still, the massive logo and lack of more intricate detailing doesn't help its overall aesthetic much more than that.
Honorable mention to New Japan's IWGP World Heavyweight title. A jagged, angular belt that looked like a power rangers toy, that wound up retiring two of the best looking belts in history, the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles.
Honestly, I've always thought that the Jeff Hardy belt & the original NXT belt were cool looking to me. I appreciate when wrestling companies think outside the box & try an experimental/cutting edge design instead of always using the generic design. But that's just my humble opinion. The Jeff Hardy belt looked more Egyptian to me.
It was good for a barbie acessory, but something like that would never fly in any promotion. Then again, this was WWE, a promtion who didn't like or respect Women's wrestling so it's almost expected that they would make something like that.
@ I think they took it as serious as the market would allow. People didn’t care too much about women’s wrestling at the time, but WWE still had to make their money so they did what they had to do to succeed in that lane. They were still entertaining, just in a way that didn’t have to focus so much on the wrestling, but more on the entertainment side of the company
I'm glad that you put the Rated R Spinner Belt on this list. Say what you want about the Spinner Belt, but at least it sold merchandise at Toys-R-Us that made a lot of money for WWE. However, the one Edge had was ugly because it didn't fit his character. Also, it was during the Ruthless Aggression Era, not the PG Era. Heck, there are fans who hate the Smoking Skull Belt that Austin held during the Attitude Era. Some fans probably dislike customize belts because they show favoritism of certain superstars. I disagree with this notion, but I can certainly see why they think this.
Honerable mention: The Undisputed championship from 2002. Many people didn’t like the belt untill people like the rock and undertaker for example held the belt. People started liking it and became an underrated title
The juvenile "spinner" belt continues to be the biggest eyesore in WWF/WWE history. I'm sure the pinheads and children loved it, but it was a toy compared to the belt it replaced.
I hate that people consider the Divas era a "bad time period" when it's no different than the one we're in today. It's an insult to the women who wrestled during that time, and their efforts and skill are made to seem less than to put down an entire era because it's the popular thing to do. New flash, the bra and panties matches and pillow fight matches took place during the Attitude era, but people will absolutely bypass that to hype and praise the era, with some expressing how desperately they want WWE to return to that era. Today's woman get the same amount of push and the same amount of time despite the fact that it's 2025 and there are more women's championships than ever to book storylines for the women.
Don't even need to watch this video. The absolute worst have been those red and green Christmas looking championships from the late 2010s! Seriously, what were they thinking!?
Jeff's Immortal belt was supposed to replicate his actual artwork. If you've seen any of his paintings, he draws abstract faces so the belt represented that.
If in all honesty the idea is good, but the spinner belt itself is crap (only someone like Cena could get away with holding something that bad because he's aparody of wrestling). Edge should've had more freedom to use a design of his own creation to really drive home that this is a custom title that you would want to carry.
I love the blue universal strap. It looks like Voltes V and it reminds me how The Tribal Chief saved the entire sports entertainment during the height of the global pandemic.

The ugly belts from attitude or ruthless era still had more creativity and innovative design, than the copy paste jobs they do with the belts now. The divas title actually looked better than the big W logo belt it got replaced with.
To this day I still do not understand why wwe insists on keeping the ugly designs for most of their belts Would it bloody kill them to make their belts actually look like proper wrestling belts! However the hard-core belt looked great and represented the hard-core division and should not be on this list. Since you made this video on worst belt designs, do you think you could make one about the best belt designs please?
I wouldn’t even put the Hardcore Champion belt on the list because it looks exactly like what you were supposed to expect. I wouldn’t put the Divas Champion belt on it either since it’s more of it standing out than looking ugly. Same with The Fiend belt and even that was supposed to stand out.
I actually like the divas title, my sister had one. It’s not a world title material belt, but if they would’ve had mid card titles for women back in the day, the Divas title would be a GREAT candidate.
