Back during the good times 😢 imagine the backlash if they did that today. 😅 they would call it “brainwashing”…. Well, I hope not but I’m not too optimistic in so called “progressive” areas
does this statement include war criminals too? Because last I checked the Nazis and Imperial Japanese weren't too restrictive about mass murder, rape, genocide, and all around cruelty.
The song is a traditional marching song of the German army, just like the famous Westerwald song. That's not illegal. It was written in 1930 and first published in 1938. It was written by Herms Niel who joined the NSDAP later but, by itself, it's not a N@zi song, nor is it banned in Germany.
@@karlheinzvonkroemann2217 And the style is still that of the German Empire, so I think it emerged as a folk song in the German Empire or Weimar Republic.
The lyrics are totally different of the melody. It literally say that they are all living in devastated lands, without anything food, water or any other vitals thing and that there high ranks dont care of them.

For anyone curious, Japan combined British & German March elements with a very Asian Style. The "Starblazers-Starship Yamato" Theme is a good example of such brought back successfully !

there are songs from both world wars and vietnam. however, there are none from the "forgotten war" korea. yet in only 3 years as opposed to 15 in vietnam, there were 56,000 united nation soldiers killed of which over 8 thousand americans still are mia.
There were 291,000 Americans killed in WW2 and there are still 55k Americans still MIA from WW2! There are 1,582 MIA and 50K American soldiers were killed in Vietnam in 12 years. Erika is a song about a guy missing his Girl friend and comparing her to a flower blooming on the heather. It's not even remotely militaristic ;)
