Well not really. Alex murphy son actually still alive,grown up and working with omnicorp in robocop prime directive.
The dialogue is ridiculously thought provoking about how people treat our military and overall service for their sacrifices.
"They'll fix me. They fix everything."
He sounded both like he's given up and like his suffering would continue even if he ended up getting destroyed
That line is also a reference to robocop 1, in robocop 1 robocop's partner lewis was hurt and robocop said to his partner "they'll fix you, they fix everything"

I was honestly rolling my eyes up until that point. AND it was Peter Weller and Keith David. This is incredible.
This was my favourite interaction and the similarity in that they are both recreated.

I was born in 2004 but I grew up with the "cheesy" 80's era movies like Robocop and Terminator because of my older brother, I would always sit and watch through them with him and to be honest, I miss those times...
I like that he mentions Lewis. She's like an important figure in Robo's story to me and a lot of media after the movies chose to ignore her.
My heart broke when she got killed in Robocop 3...
Lewis' character had the one thing I wish they would change in RoboCop 1: they made it like she and Murphy had this close bond, but he died the same day they met. If they made them partners from the get-go, the bond she had would have been more believable and significant.

Because he was both, not only that he was rebuilt as a cyborg, but he was property of the ocp now. At least that's what I think when I watch Robocop as a kid.

@@seanwhitman8353 It gives some insight into Geras' mindset. Seems like he actually hates his predicament, otherwise it is doubtful he would empathize with RoboCop so much. Both are essentially cursed with the worst kind if immortality.

So glad they got Peter Weller to voice the character in this game. Over 30 years later and at least sounds as good as Peter Cullen reprising the role of Optimus Prime from 2007 onwards. Glad I got to meet the latter. :D

Scorpion, one of the most ruthless and intimidating ninjas in MK, is actually a friend of many. Robocop, Spawn, Batman, hell he is now friends with his former mortal enemy Sub Zero and earthrealm combatants.
Meanwhile, Sub Zero is trying to show off how lin kuei is the hype, recruit people, but every character rejects him, and the one member that had potential betrayed him. :'(
I mean, in the end, the only thing Hanzo/Scorpion ever really wanted was revenge for his clan's massacre.

I wouldn’t say it missed the point, they just wanted him to have more motivation to break free of his programming.
Eventually his son came back in Prime Directives. He was there for his dad.
@@ZealStarMedia I would say that the whole movie completely missed the point by having Murphy survive the bomb. Alex Murphy is dead. Robocop truly is part man, part machine, on a psychological level. His humanity overcomes the machine however, but he isn't really Alex Murphy anymore. He has some of Murphys memories and motivations, but he has lost so much of that. He died, lost most of what he was and has had OCP try to overwrite his mind with a machine. Robocop is a new individual created from combining what was left of Alex Murphys mind and body with a machine.
The new Robocop is just a guy in a life sustaining robot suit. It's not a terrible movie, but it really misses the point of the original. New Robocop doesn't get the inner battle between man an machine the way the original did.

OCP turned him into a machine, even if it’s legal that’s still messed up. OCP is just focused on their own agendas and making money. They are definitely the type that would send Terminators on the street and they wouldn’t even need Skynet to do it.

Anyone else just find it cool when the guest characters say something related to Mortal Kombat and vice versa with the MK characters? You know, since you’d never hear them say it outside the game like a name or place in the MK universe?
It is the essence of crossovers for me atleast. Different characters with discrete backgrounds getting to interact and know each other on a personal level. This thing gets neglected quite often by many fighters what NRS has been able to accomplish with all their characters. Literally, there are unique dialogues between each and every character in the game with these pre-fight sequences; it gives it a feel that everyone is aware of each other's existence, and they are not just fighting for no reason.
Absolutely. You gotta love when two characters from different series' you know and love so much interact and their interactions being spot on with their respective characters.
It's what makes me sad about a game like Smash Bros. So many characters from so many games with little on the actual crossover factor aside from just existing in the same space.
@@StormierNik well they do interact with each other if you have the characters that's like in the same game. Like FE characters in their victory screen, where they do acknowledge each other. I remember playing as Lucina aginst Marth and just the fact she knew who she fought against and talked shit at that was a cool detail.

Which barely exists, only other characters that even do that are Fox and Falco having a unique quip against each other, and Wolf having a unique quip if he beats Fox or Falco.
The only time Smash even remotely did this cool character interaction right was Brawl with Subspace Emissary, but there was no voice lines besides Solid Snake's "It's show time".
They had the obvious potential with Ultimate(that voice acted cutscene) but they rushed the game out the door and gave us a shitty board game instead.
1:12 I like to think Sub-Zero took RoboCop to be trained as a Lin Kuei member and help him out. I think Sub-Zero out of everyone here understands what it's like becoming a cyborg so he has sympathy for Alex.
Not only that but Sub Zero's friends, Smoke and Cyrax were turned into cyborgs against their will. If he was able to help them, he can definitely help Robocop.
Smoke wasn't a cyborg in this timeline.

RoboCop: Crime and OCP took away his humanity, made him a machine and his family moved on.
Spawn: Malebolgia got Jason Wynn to kill Al Simmons and made him a Hellspawn in his army, in exchange for seeing Wanda, who has already moved on and started a new life.
But at least, OCP and Malebolgia got theirs and I was kinda hoping that in one of their arcade endings that they would’ve used the hourglass to go back and fix their mistakes.
At least Spawn is trying to be sympathetic, not like Noob who could give two fucks about what happened to Alex lol.
I love how no matter it's a villain or a hero, everyone give a meaningful dialogue to RoboCop
I am sure Peter Weller's input added a lot of depth to this Robocop story. Look at how comical the Terminator turned out to be without Arnold and Cameron's involvement.

It's good to see that, even enemies, sympathize and give him respect for his sacrifice in his past life. If any characters understand sacrifice its the MK universe
The phrase "My wife and son are lost to me"refers to the fact that after Alex Murphy was declared dead and made into a cyborg. He could no longer be with his family

The killings are optional and are made for the gameplay aspect, it’s not required to perform them to score a win.
Let's not forget, he can arrest them afterwards.
So you're having an honourable fight until the guy says "Finish Him" and you end up with half your face missing and your spine in the opponent's arm.
Its a little jarring seeing these hardened badasses feel so much sympathy towards robocop.
Being hardened doesn't necessarily affect your ability to sympathise with others. A lot of the interactions play on similar experiences, such as Scorpion, Spawn, Geras and Sub-Zero, or on their views of slavery, such as Kitana and Jade.

His wife and son are not actually "murdered." They're alive and well in the movies. He wants to be alienated away from them so they can live better lives without him being what he is.
Man, you can really hear the downess/sadness in Robocop's tone in some of these. Also the Sub-Zero one is *VERY FITTING* considering what happened to him in this timeline, and what happened to Smoke in the previous timeline.
Whenever I binge mk11 pre-fight dialogue, I always forget that the kombatants literally kill eachother afterwards...
